Hidden Duty and Return policy

Hidden duty and shipping return policy. Run away. Dismal customer service. Unlike other overseas retailers, they refuse to offer rates or estimates for international duties and shipping in any direction. They neglect to say they hold you responsible for duty charges on both ends: if you return an item you are still stuck paying the duty you were charged to receive it and the duty to send it back to Italy. They also charge you the return shipping costs. These charges instantly add hundreds to your purchase price even if you don't possess the item in the end. They claim this is clearly stated, however, not all of this is disclosed in their returns section. What is stated is either printed small, below the purchase button, or hidden elsewhere on their website. Online retailers are able to calculate the duties and the shipping but BaseBlu refuses to do this. In addition, customer service (Andrea) makes it extremely difficult to return an item. It took no less than 7 emails to get a printed return label. Although they received the item 4 weeks ago, they have not refunded me the money. I will never, ever order from them again. The idea that they "blend traditional luxury retailing with forward-thinking digital practices to offer a personalized and exclusive shopping experience." is patently false.

BE WARNED……Do not use. I ordered a coat for £417. It did not fit my son so arranged a return straight away. They only refunded £360.disgraceful.

DON"T ORDER FROM THEM

Same negative review here to other people who ordered from the UK, they DO NOT disclose VAT is excluded from their product listings, only until AFTER you have placed your order there is a message at the top saying there will be extra charges upon entry to the UK.When I spoke to Andrea from customer service, she was rudely disclosing that this information was given at check out but it wasn't. And then saying I would be deducted duty/tax fees upon return. This is extremely poor customer service, I even spoke to a few people on the phone to DHL and they said deducting fees even as an organic return is unethical.DON"T ORDER FROM THEM.

Avoid if you're in the UK

Avoid if you're in the UKBe cautious purchasing from this company if you live in the UK. They do not clearly disclose that you’ll be required to pay customs or import duties upon delivery. Before ordering, I checked their Terms & Conditions, which state that prices include all taxes — yet when my goods arrived, I was charged an additional customs fee.I contacted Customer Service and was told that taxes and duties are excluded, supposedly noted at checkout. After recreating the purchase, I found this disclaimer, but it appears in tiny, hard-to-see text.Their communication and transparency around international orders are poor and not consumer-friendly. I would strongly recommend avoiding this retailer if you’re based in the UK.

CON ARTISTS!!!!

Please stay well away from this unscrupulous company. They appear to sell products at a reasonable price, but then, after you have placed your order, you get hit with a £270 customs charge. I told them not to send the product and to give me a refund and they refused!

Ordered a jacket from their online…

Ordered a jacket from their online store for Austria and it arrived within two working days, as noted on the website. Upon trying the jacket I saw it wasn't my size, so I immediately sent a message to the customer service and wrote them that I wanted to issue a return of the product. They responded after 3 business days, sent me the return label and sent me back my money in 2 days, again as noted in their terms and conditions. For everyone blaming the shop about being scammers because of the legal fees, I would say stop deluding/scaring people and do your research regarding the tariffs for products going in and out of the EU (mostly to/from the USA and UK). Overall quick and reliable service.

Trainers including delivery were £70…

Trainers including delivery were £70 cheaper than Flannels in UK.Despatched on Monday and arrived on Tuesday.Trainers in perfect condition and well packaged.If you live in UK you pay import tax on products over £135, dont blame Base Blu, blame Brexit.Would defo use again, if price was right.

Very good botique

I don’t know what these people are moaning about. I bought a jacket and it arrived in under 2 days from the purchase no any hidden fees or anything (shipped within EU).

I only wish I had seen the reviews before placing an order for a high end item assuming it buying it cheaper than in uk …. THEY DONT MENTION IMPORT FEES TILL YOU GET A RUDE SHOCK DROM DHL …

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL customer service

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL customer service. Andrea was rude, not helpful and dismissive. Their import fees are not very clear, I got a bill of £150. When I contacted them about this requesting for it to be sent straight back as I didn't want to pay the import fees - I was told that I wouldn't get a full refund ... Even though I called DHL TWICE and both times they confirmed refusal of import fees wouldn't mean the company get charged when it is sent back. I have to say the emails I received were very rude and unbothered that I would be loosing out on money when I shouldn't be. The information provided was completely false from their end and felt threatening as though I had no choice. I own a business and I wouldn't dare speak to customers how their customer service does. Do not order from them!!!!!!!!!
