I had Cox for my cameras and they…

I had Cox for my cameras and they stopped doing the cameras and sent us all to Brinks in May this yr 2026. Lucky for me I didn't need to look at the cameras at my establishment till mid Sept. When I did need to view an incident I wasn't able to. So I called brinks and they said I needed new equipment and was told it would be an extra $10 a month. So feeling like I had no choice in the matter I agreed. They gave me a date to meet for the new equipment and the day they were suppose to show they texted me saying bla bla bla I needed to reschedule. So I did and the same thing happened. bla bla bla I needed to reschedule. So I did and the same thing happened again. Next time I called I got a little heated and finally got some truth from them. they said because of storms in some part of the world they can't get the equipment. So I just waited. Finally in Nov they showed up with the equipment. Now the cameras weren't motion activated like before with Cox. Brinks says I need to spend around 2k for new cameras to get motion activated. So disappointed with them. I miss Cox! Brinks wasn't ready to take this on. I guess since they took over customers from Cox we are stuck with a 3 yr contract with brinks. I would have no problem with them if they got their shit together but to buy new cameras is ridiculous.

Theft of Property due to nonfunctional equipment! Then continued to charge me for 3 months after I called to cancel my service.

I used AT&T Digital Life Security System for years, until they stopped doing home security and transferred all their customers to Brinks Home Security. Brinks did not replace any of my old equipment, only the key pad by the door. The cameras were not changed out even though they went offline more than they worked. The keypad locks had peeling paint and they wouldn’t replace them either. Every time I called to get the cameras back online, it was 1 to 2 hours on the phone or needed a tech to come out during my work hours. Who wants to constantly utilize PTO to fix equipment for a few days to a week, only to stop working again?? I eventually gave up because it was so much of a hassle. The cameras might work 3 days a month if I was fortunate enough. In the summer my neighbor had a theft and my camera was offline. In September I had 2 mowers stolen from my carport, and of course the camera was offline! So in October of 2025 I called to cancel my service since it was absolutely useless and no one ever fixed or replaced my poorly functioning equipment. In December I got a VM that I owed money in excess of $300! I didn’t even have access to the Brinks app any longer. I called and was told that they had never completed my request to cancel. Oddly enough they shut down my app though… The extortion for money that I do not owe continues and it’s now March of 2026. I have never written a negative company review, but I feel like I should warn others. The if the home had been broken into or someone attacked when my mowers were stolen, it would not have been recorded as my cameras rarely functioned. I am truly disgusted with the unprofessional conduct and threats to send me to collections over a bill that I should have never incurred. Maybe I should try to sue for Brinks’ breach of contract to provide me with working equipment?!?! If any attorneys read this and would like to start a class action lawsuit, I’m sure that I am not the only person to have had things stolen when cameras were not functioning. Brink’s Home do better, people are entrusting you with their family’s life and safety. Stop cheating and over charging customers, especially when the customer should be reimbursed for their systems not even functioning adequately!!

More Theft from Brinks Home Security.

Again, I am getting the run around from Brinks Home Security!! I was charged $35.28 for a month of services I don't have!!! Why are you all so incompetent?! Why do you continue to drive customers away? Why do you try to coerce and scam customers on a daily basis? I am tired of your abuse and will continue to report negatively on your business on additional platforms until you credit my account! What gives you the right to steal from hard working people? I want my account credited ASAP!

Loyalty department is a scam

Not sure where the five star reviews come from for this company. If you search by most recent reviews, you'll see the majority of them are one star, which is one more than they deserve. My problems started when my system kept giving me false alarms and error codes and I notified Brinks that I wanted to cancel. As others have said good luck with that, they just keep charging. I talked to their "loyalty department" in October of last year. They informed me I hadn't followed the correct process to cancel, but agreed to write off 60% of the past due if I paid 40%. I paid that day, they never did issue a credit. I also agreed to keep the service and add a maintenance plan in return for getting new equipment sent to me. They never sent new equipment but started charging the new rate. Any attempts to resolve the issues were simply met with "you need to contact the loyalty department." They were calling three times a day for money despite not keeping any promises, and recently closed the account and sent it to collections. Brinks will never see a dime. Complete scam of a company who directs all issues to a department whose only mission is to tell you whatever they need to tell you in order to get you to extend your contract. Avoid Brinks Home.

Tell them to GO AWAY! Buyer beware Brinks is Horrible

BRINKS system and customer service has been a nightmare since installation. Moved into a new home in Oct of 25 and have had issue after issue consistently. We were promised items and then come to find out those items were not written into the contract. Sales person also locked us into a 5 year term. Nothing worked so their service person came out to “fix” some issues charging a $30 fee, they unplugged my HVAC system and plugged it into an old surge protector that kept tripping and compromised my heating in winter. This company has no integrity and upon my conversation about my issues they suggest I pay an additional $25 per month for a warranty on their NEW system?!? Be careful when dealing with a smooth talking sales person at your door they will promise the world and give you substandard service and faulty equipment. If I could cancel I would but they are trained to deal with dissatisfied customers like me all day.

Don't waste your money on this horrible…

Don't waste your money on this horrible company. They just talk in circles, not providing any real service. It's criminal what they do. They will lock you in to a multi-year contract and there is no chance of getting out of it. When you ask for a copy of the contract, they don't provide you one. Just horrible customer service.

Dissatisfied Customer

I have had my alarm for over 20 years. I wanted to cancel my alarm service, and they claim that I have a contract with them and they still haven't sent it to me. I can't get out of my contract unless I pay an outrageous amount of money. They mislead and lied to me about when I could cancel my service without a fee. They are so shady and are definitely not about customer service. They tried to get me locked in for more time with a lower rate. DO NOT use this company because they will lock you into a contract that you won't even see and charge you exorbitant amounts of money. They make it nearly impossible to cancel their service.

Don’t be fooled by their low monthly…

Don’t be fooled by their low monthly fees… the experience ended up being soo expensive. The contract I had was for 5 years for the amount of 28 dollars monthly but they charged me 38 every month. When I called they said there are some fees and … that was in the contract but didn’t have the amount! I asked how could it be? The total shows 28! Here is the first sign!I paid all and happily called last October to cancel since the 5 years would end in Dec and the customer service said that I don’t have to do anything to cancel the subscription because it won’t renew automatically. I got a charge again on Jan and called and they finally passed me through to cancellation and they said you should have called 30 days prior to the last billing so that it would stop but since you are calling us now you have to pay again for the feb because the processing time is 30 days!!!So basically I called earlier not to be charged but I am now paying 2 more months extra! They tried to send me a form to request cancellation but the email wouldn’t be sent! I insisted to talk to a supervisor about this nonesense but they said oh, there could be a technical glitch and we will request cancellation on our end but it still takes 30 days! Such a scam company. Don’t get trapped like I did.

The most awful experience

The most awful experience. I have never dealt with more unprofessional bunch of people. Cancelling service is next to impossible.
