Terrible customer service

[Ticket#2026022217001973] I have been waiting three weeks to unlock my software – Sony Vegas – which I cannot use because I have both a new PC and a new email address. Provided with the purchase receipts and all the accompanying documents, I requested that the software be released. To date, no response. The customer service is so bad that I now decided to switch to DaVinci. I was a Vegas user for many many years, but this customer service is no customer service at all; they can simply cut you off from something you paid hundreds of euros for just because you have a different device or a different email address. I am leaving and will NEVER return. And I will post this on TrustPilot as well, so people are warned.

The death of Sound Forge, as I knew it.

With Windows 10 now discontinued, I’ve had no choice but to migrate my entire 20-year digital studio to a new computer running Windows 11. If that isn’t expensive and problematic enough with plug-ins and software that are now unsupported, a simple transfer of my Sound Forge 10 license has become impossible.A BOT keeps sending me in circles, saying my software can’t be activated because it no longer supports the activation portal. Then it asks me to register via a new link, but when I try, it says it’s already registered - even if I use a different email.Emails go in loops with instructions back to the main customer support online, only to eventually get a notification that somebody (a real person) will get back to me, which has gone unanswered, and I need to be making music.I’ve been a supporter and user of Forge for twenty years, and I’ve rarely seen a company allow itself to fall so far behind and show no care for the customers who helped to build it.Now, my £160 of legitimate software is useless because Magix won’t even send me a simple registration link.It’s disappointing, but I guess this is what happens when BOTs take over customer service, with companies wanting your money but with little to no care for you afterwards.If you want to future-proof your home recording setup, stay away from Sound Forge and Magix products.Regards, Mr. Limpopo.

Their support system is a catastrophe

Their support system is a catastrophe. I had a simple registration Issue with a product (Sony Vegas Movie Studio) that Magix bought and where I now have to register at Magix. The support bot was sending me in circles, i.e. I can't use the product. This does not give me any trust into the quality of their products anymore.

Non-existent support

I wanted to transfer my 2 existing licences to my new PC. It needed Magix admin to change my email address to a new one. Logging the request on the website produces a ticket and notice of a 2-5 day turnaround with the warning to the effect of not to register another request as this will put it to the back of the queue. Having no response I put another request in via a support email and received the ticket. 6 weeks later still no response.

Very bad customer support.

Magix are very good at sales, but Customer support does not exist beyond an automated system that leads to nowhere. As of yet I have been unable to cancel a 365 subscription for Soundforge. I shall have a word with the bank to see if they can put a stop on magix. My advise - do not get involved with Magix. As an edit I would like to add that moderators on the community Forum admitted they didn't know how to help the issue. After attempting to find a way to resolve the problems by contacting the Host who deals with Magix, I came under abuse from the moderators, I was disgracefully accused of bad behaviour and banned. That should not be seen to be acceptable.

Shameful support: Perpetual licenses blocked by offline servers

I purchased a perpetual license for Magix Music Studio, but MAGIX has shut down the download servers. The download manager remains stuck at 0%. I have sent multiple emails and opened several support tickets—the latest being Ticket 2026010217000905—and I am being completely ignored. It is unacceptable for a company of this level to abandon its legal users. If they do not provide a solution, this is a scam. Do not buy their products!Compré una licencia perpetua de Magix Music Studio, pero MAGIX ha apagado los servidores de descarga. El gestor de descargas se queda al 0%. He enviado múltiples correos, y he abierto varios tickets de incidencia, el último Ticket 2026010217000905, y me ignoran por completo. Es inaceptable que una empresa de este nivel deje tirados a sus usuarios legales. Si no dan una solución, esto es una estafa. ¡No compren sus productos!

Customer Service Abysmal

I have just paid to update Photostory and I have a very small problem which I have contacted Magix about. Problem is the support team is manned by BOTs and the request gets passed back and forth never reaching an adviser. To make it worse I cannot contact sales to request a refund. Abysmal service considering Magix know about the fact customers requests for assistance never get seen by a human.

Recurring Magix video prox 16 issue and no human support response

Unfortunately, this has been a very disappointing experience.I am now dealing with the same recurring issue for the third time with this product. The first time it happened, I was reasonably well supported and felt that someone actually tried to help. However, during the last two incidents, the support process has completely broken down.Communication now seems to consist almost entirely of automated emails. I follow all instructions carefully and patiently, as requested. After that, I am informed that my case will be forwarded to a support agent — and then nothing happens. No reply, no follow-up, no solution. The contact simply disappears.This is particularly frustrating because the problem is recurring and has never been structurally resolved. I have purchased multiple products from this company and therefore expect recurring issues to be taken seriously and handled properly.As an additional downside, I find the aggressive and repetitive in-software advertising, which has to be dismissed every time, very demotivating — especially after already purchasing the product.In short: the product may have potential, but the support experience and follow-up are seriously lacking. If this does not improve, I will seriously consider switching to another supplier.

Terrible company with zero support

Their "support" is entirely unhelpful AI garbage with no meaningful resolution, I massively regret purchasing a licence from them when anything else would have been better.

50/50 customer service, email bot used

Great Sony developed software, bad company that purchased it with poor email support and follow upI spent 160$ total to upgrade to Vegas pro 23 AND get the ultimate royalty free music bundle as well, i never received my product keys, never received any email, just the payment confirmation saying I was charged successfullyI emailed them, bounced back a AI bot reply, emailed again, same reply, emailed again, same reply AI, absolutely no human has emailed me so far, the final email said it was forwarding it to their employees, it's been 10 days since that was stated to me!No reply, no update, no product keys, 160$ charged anywaysI disputed it with paypal, they have until the 20th to either deliver my product upgrade key, or paypal will forcefully refundSTOP using AI to support customers!1/20/26Paypal forced the refund, poor customer service, wouldn't recommend, they'll just offload your email/ticket to their AI support system
