Melio randomly blocks payments due to AI-powered "compliance and acceptable use guidelines" including "payments between individuals". This includes vendors you may have paid in the past. In our case, we're a business (501(c)(3) charitable org) paying an individual artist for performing/exhibiting, and we are suddenly receiving random rejections due to unspecified issues. All these issues are flagged by AI, and impact our ability to pay vendors. As a 501(c)(3) with a lawyer on our board, we are very cautious about our use of funds, and yet we still receive random rejections from Melio Payments.

The business model is OUT OF TOUCH with reality.Convinced that the 5 star reviews are paid for no way anyone running a SERIOUS business paying REAL VENDORS would take this business seriously.- Unreliable support- Days and days to get responses (no real business works like this)- Canned responses are strange and ineffective- Support seriously doesn't care or the responses to tickets lack ANY empathy- They create the problems expecting customers to solve (POOR UI, VALIDATION OVER-KILL) and blame the regulations. Even banks, WISE doesn't OVER-REGULATE, they just don't have a clue.- Emails are written like scavenger hunts, and you go into their matrix to get ANY support. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED TO US:1. Sent money via International wire2. Money left my Mastercard but didn't deliver to Vendor (okay, let's fix it right)??3. Get a CRYPTIC email from Melio, the money didn't send to Vendor due to some issue with the information. That's it, after over hours of talking to random person money still in the ethers no solutions no offering help, nothing.So what would a normal person do they'd go into their dashboard to review and correct the vendor info, right?!4. Melio has NO WAY to check or review the vendor's account info entered by the customer to pay their vendor once it's set up, unlike WISE you can at least go in and modify the info if it's incorrect.5. This is a $h*t show going on. They're "validating" you to death with over compliance but won't create an interface where you can actually EDIT anything relevant if the vendor payment info is incorrect.6. The best part? Every time you attempt to contact the support they tell you it takes 1-3 business days to then get some vapid response, which makes you wait additional days, unresolved.7. These people seriously have no idea what they're doing, their "security" is over-engineered "compliance" the customer service are like bots who talk to you like color in the lines reading manuals, and they don't know how to think out the box and critically think REAL SOLUTIONS.8. STAY AWAY from Melio. It's not as easy as they say it's a hot mess of complications and poor UI design if you have to fix anything and not be forced to WAIT DAYS and DAYS to get a simple response or help.STAY AWAY from this and use WISE. Which Melio actually uses WISE too ironically they use WISE networks to send money, so save yourself a headache and just use WISE.
