Public Storage at 5500 San Fernando Rd in Glendale, CA should be shut down. It's a dump and has been for quite some time now. It is not maintained and because of the homeless people they continually allow to sleep there over night, is very dangerous. A couple of years ago, I was assaulted by a homeless man on the proper early in the morning before the office opened. I don't advise any female to go to this facility without being accompanied by a man or at least another person. These people destroy the only opened bathroom on the property every day. There's is ALWAYS a constructual problem. The gates and elevators breakdown often. The new district manager Tony Borja is an incompetent fool. Overall the staff just sit inside the office, seldom cleaning the facility. The carts are soiled with dirt. The have been frequent breakins to unit and staff never provide the truth about them. I discourage anyone from using this facility or Public Storage entirely. They lie about the rates and a few months in they raise the rates 20 to 30%.

The manager of Public Storage on Business Drive in Fredericksburg, Virginia, broke my lock after I was late on a payment that is due on the first, even though I paid a few weeks later. As a result, I lost access to my unit, while she had full access because she broke my lock. When I regained access the following month, around 20 boxes were stolen. Most of my boxes had been opened, and many of my breakable items were thrown all over the floor. I reported this, but she kept quiet and did nothing.Another time, I had to call 911 and reported her to the BBB because she refused to allow me to pay by credit card and was making sure I could not pay so she could take over my unit. I had to call the police to stop her. It felt like highway robbery. I reported her, but she is still there, and the higher office did not take any action. She breaks locks so customers lose access while she gains full access to their belongings. She lives in the facility and is there 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

If you are a long-term tenant your rent will be raised every six months - there is no limit to this. The current market rate for my 10'x15' unit is $187; they just raised my rent to over $300. They give the teaser $1 first month rate to get you in...and if you stay more than 6 months they raise your rate every six months no matter what the market rate is for the unit. I wish I would have sold all my stuff instead of paying for storage.

Awful experience - insulation falling off ceiling onto your possessions or in my case a Classic Car - they acted like it was a one off till I told Manager Robert I witnessed other units with the same problem - then Robert knew about it - RUN AWAY FROM HERE

The 3 stars are for the property and the staff. Very clean and well-kept inside and out. The team on property are awesome. I would not recommend Public Storage at all. After 3 months my monthly rate went up by half from $30.00 to $45.00 a month. I spoke to an agent and was informed that my size unit is a popular size, and the contract is month to month so that justifies the price increase. I will be looking for a different facility very soon.

I had the pleasure of working with the public storage facility in Navarre, Florida at 9546 Navarre Parkway. I was dealing with a very professional, authentic and thorough employee named Michael. If he is not regional manager at minimum, he needs to be and then some!! He is a gem! I have had many storage units over the years and even at other public storage facilities that didn’t go this smoothly. Not only is he highly skilled at his job, but he was available on his day off by phone to another employee on when I arrived. He helped resolve a complex situation that was also time limited very rapidly. It was also obvious that he had communicated the situation to her prior to his day off. He even went the extra mile to help me find help to move my things. I’ve had other experiences with public storage facilities in Texas that wouldn’t compare AT ALL! I was able to speak with him directly on the phone, and also in person at the facility. I would’ve never thought I would be writing a review about a storage facility. But I know that even if the public storage corporation itself does something that makes me unhappy, I can go to him and he will make it right as best he can within his scope. No one likes spending money on Storage. But he made it painless. I am writing reviews for him on multiple platforms, which I have never done before so that the corporation will stand up and take notice. If he ever tries to move on from this job, he needs to be promoted and compensated immediately. Do not let him go. It would be a big mistake. I currently own a business, and having someone like him as part of your organization is just lucky. Because of him I will not go anywhere else for my current and many future storage needs.

I want to thank Public storage for listening to my complaints about rent increase. I have been a loyal customer for over 9 years. I have seen 3 different owners and everyone of them wanted to raise the rent. Of course it's never ten or fifteen dollars. They or asking for $50 or more. Not only did they listen to my concerns they were able to helped me achieve my goal. I stayed the same. I was so happy to hear that they truly understood me. Thanks to all of you who understands your faithful customer's.

The public storage unit on Pickett road in Fairfax, Va has been illegally overcharging me for my insurance when I have a signed agreement that it is $15. In less than a month, they raised my insurance from 101 to 124 without notice which is illegal.

An employee - Becky at the Highland Village facility - gets 5 stars. The company gets zero! After paying my bill last month in person, an "Autopay" charge 111% of my rate slipped in a week later. Nothing made sense and only Becky stepped in and put in a credit request for the errant charge.I never had a card on file. I was never on Autopay. The email had correct storage space number but wrong rate. It sneakily was charged four days after on the card i used but went out by email 8 days later.Moral of the story - Becky is the only one who can decipher the strange charges of Public Storage (and their twice a year rate increases!) and......do NOT opt for autopay. But Becky is great. Don't know what I'd do without her
