Shopify is a pathetic, incompetent joke of a platform.I overpaid on an order and stupidly wasted over 4 hours in their worthless Live Chat, begging their brain-dead support team to refund my own money. Their agents were slow, clueless, and completely useless — an absolute embarrassment.On top of that, Shopify is so amateur that they don’t even include the store name on invoices. What a ridiculous, half-assed system.I’m a business owner, not Shopify’s personal stress toy. I refuse to waste any more of my life fighting this garbage company just to get my own money back.Shopify is unreliable, infuriating, and a total scam. Stay far away from this dumpster fire of a platform.

As an avid shopper, they make ordering and tracking seamless and easy. I actually like their site where you can peruse products and designers. I’ve discovered some gems that way.On the other hand, I’ve learned not to trust that a business on their site is legit. I’ve definitely had major problems with orders a couple of times, for instance found out a company called Havery Ridge that looked preppy-U.S. is based is actually in China or somewhere abroad and doesn’t offer returns as promised. As the Shopify reviews suggest, Shopify has no customer service and doesn’t stand behind the integrity of the companies. I’m disappointed that so many small businesses offer such bad reviews of them too—as a customer I at least thought I was supporting small businesses by perusing the Shopify app. It’s too bad, their business model could be great.

They are always changing things for the worse and latest thing is the new "quantity" edit feature which involves clicking a tick mark then saving it , doubling the amount of work

Warning do not use this platform. They will keep your money one way or another. They will not give you access to your account , they will trick you into a two way authentication code at this time you wont get a chance to set up; a bank account, you wont be able to receive a card without an authenticator code at wich time they will loop you over and over . In the mean time they keep your money you make go through hell .

Shopify is one of the least functional programs I have ever used in a workplace setting. It has an unbelievable amount of errors syncing product information and inventory, its barcoding system does not work, banking information randomly breaks and payouts stay pending for months, historical reporting has been removed, and it keeps updating its interface enough that I constantly have to re-train staff, but none of the glaring issues we've had ever seem to be resolved. Furthermore, there is NO customer support for these issues. If you argue with their AI chat bot long enough, it might let you email someone who works there - who usually has no power to help you. Finally - the excessive integration of AI is disturbing, slow and glitchy. The partnership with ChatGPT is our final nail in the coffin and we will discontinue using Shopify at the end of the month. I cannot see us ever using one of their products ever again.

Unacceptable experience. The only way to track my order was through a QR code that forces you to download the Shopify app; no tracking number or carrier info provided on the website at all. That’s not convenience, it’s coercion.Requiring an app just to access basic order updates is intrusive and privacy-invading. I’ll be avoiding any stores that rely on Shopify if this is their standard.

I have used the Shopify app to purchase items from two separate “retailers”. Once in November 2025, and the other on February 7, 2026. I have not received either order. Whenever I email the first retailer, I get a reply thanking me for my patience, and that my order is nearly ready to ship. It’s been five months-I don’t want it any more. They ignore my refund requests. The other retailer, when emailed using their direct link, it is bounced back as invalid. Shopify offers no recourse for either of these-just tells you that you need to email the retailer. Their Resolve Issues tab, only sends the retailer your email. No recourse on obtaining refunds from the business who is apparently scamming consumers.
