Not really useful

I picked TIDAL because of the better artist payment and the apparently straightforward user interface. It’s virtually unusable. I checked it was compatible with Amzon Alexa before subscribing, but now find it’s only compatible in the USA, think TIDAL are economical with the truth. I’m in the UK, so that cuts out playing my music in my bedroom. There’s no track history which makes it unnecessarily hard to compile playlist. And it’s weird. And the final straw is that I have installed the TIDAL app on my smart TV and since the last update it only offers me videos, not audio albums. I hate music videos, I subscribed to LISTEN to music.

Disappointing.

Disappointing.I had an offer of a trial followed by a subscription, I thought this was ideal as I could listen to music when not connected to internet. I downloaded several albums for this purpose. When I came to use tidal service , the albums said nothing downloaded. The subscription agreement advises that you can download and listen anywhere. If the service is terminated from my account I have broken the agreement so understandably the account ceases along with the downloads. If however I cannot listen to my albums I downloaded does this not constitute a breach of the agreement? Let’s see if the developer will advise.

Ongoing Issues

Had a few months to give platform a try, sadly issues with albums being incomplete, some connectivity issues. For 13.99 a month, I would give it a miss.

“No refunds no matter what” - their (disgusting) policy

My complaint dates back to 2020. Just saw something about Tidal online, which reminded me of this, and wanted to make sure I bring this story to light.Tidal has absolutely terrible customer service. In 2020, I signed in and saw an ad for a free trial (I had used a free trial many years prior apparently). It said this trial was available to me. So I clicked it and signed up and was immediately charged $19.99. After explaining this apparent glitch to CS, they would not refund. After a few back and forths, she just kept saying that my account remains ineligible for a refund due to a policy in their terms where there are “no refunds no matter what.”Terrible policy, as this essentially means they could continue a false advertisement like that, charge you, and just never refund you.Disgusting company.

Arrogant support and long lasted technical issues

The app has had long-term technical issues that Tidal not only hasn’t been able to resolve even after a year, but hasn’t even tried to. When I reported the problems, they responded with the usual lines about how important feedback is to them and that they’re working on it, but they didn’t even ask about the technical details of the reported bugs. Support is extremely arrogant, with the same canned replies over and over. After 8 years, I was forced to switch to Spotify

Why settle for Spotify’s low-res 320…

Why settle for Spotify’s low-res 320 kbps when TIDAL offers "MAX" quality for the exact same price? With HiRes FLAC (up to 24-bit/192 kHz), TIDAL provides a bit-perfect, lossless experience that captures every nuance of the studio recording—something compressed formats simply can’t do. With a deeper library and better tech for the same monthly cost, TIDAL makes other platforms look like a compromise. TIDAL is 5-Star and BEYOND!

Rubbish app and customer service…

Rubbish app and customer service support is poor. I hate to keep giving Spotify my money but at least their app works.

Getting worse at each update

I have been using Tidal for years and ignoring the small issues that can be annoying. But lately the app is impossible to be used and I do have a new phone. Needed to switch to the browser to be able to listen to music and I'm waiting for them to fix the problems in the next days. The app stops playing out of the blue, the downloaded songs disappear, many artists don't have their albuns in the right place and fake profiles artists using the space of stablished ones make things very confuing and unprofessional. It is an absurd that with the huge demand for alternatives to Spotify, Tidal is apparently giving up of delivering what it promises and losing the chance to be big and relevant because of technical issues.
