Bought a new Tonal 2 in December and had it installed. Works great and is a good system, but did notice that the console was misaligned after using it. Finally got around to reporting the defect after a couple of months and customer service asked for pictures and videos. They emailed a resolution stating that they would replace the system with thr misaligned console but failed to mention that the replacement would only be with a refurbished piece. Considering it is a hefty price difference between a refurbished system and the brand new one I paid for, after using for only 2 months to be told jt would be replaced with a refurbished piece seems crazy to me. 5K down the tubes - great system, but do not buy new because they will not replace new if there is anything wrong with it from the start. I wish I had listened more to the reviews of people that had trouble with it before buying but was swayed by the positive reviews. Save your money and buy something else.If it's just as good refurbished then why have and pay the difference in price - doesn't make sense to me, sorry.

Tonal has been a critical part of my health improvements over the last couple years. Being able to lift heavy without having to go to the gym or clutter my home with all the equipment has been a game changer. The variety of workouts is excellent (and I've also built some custom workouts), and Tonal has added things like the ankle straps and pilates loops for more options. I love that it makes all the adjustments from move to move for me (and can be adjusted by pound), tracks PRs, I don't need to wait for machines or wipe them down, and I don't have to worry about swearing loudly when I have trouble finishing the last rep!!

Great equipment until it stopped working after a few years. I paid over 4k, for it to fail after a few years, is super disappointing. Almost 1k to get a replacement unit.

This company can improve by not price gouging their customers. Charging over $4000 and then continuing to rip people’s wallet. What a great to increase customer base! I was looking forward to canceling my gym membership for good but no how could I? Gym membership is cheaper then paying this company for this ridiculous, scam of a product. I wish this company would rot and go bankrupt.

This has been one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had, especially for a company charging premium prices.I paid almost 5 thousand dollars for this machine and then paid tonal $320 to move it, trusting their “professional” installers so it wouldn’t void my warranty. Those same installers damaged my unit, and Tonal acknowledged it was their fault but is refusing to take responsibility for it.Instead of fixing or replacing the machine they broke, they’re trying to charge me about $700 for a refurbished unit. Let that sink in, I’m being asked to pay more money to fix damage caused by their own team. That’s not just bad service, it’s unacceptable business practice.To make things worse, no one informed me I needed to test the machine immediately or that there was a strict window to report issues. So when I discovered the damage later, they used that against me instead of standing behind their work.And the communication? Awful, pretty sure they use AI to respond to my emails. I was told a senior advisor tried to call me, never got a phone call. When they asked what time worked for a follow up call I never heard anything back nor got a email returned. I’ve had to repeatedly chase them down just to get any kind of response.At this point, it feels like they’re intentionally avoiding accountability and hoping I’ll just give up or pay out of pocket. For a company that positions itself as high-end, this level of service is honestly shocking.Save yourself the headache and think twice before buying from Tonal. If something goes wrong, don’t expect them to stand behind their product or their service. You’re just going to waste thousands of dollars for garbage product and customer service. You’re better off exploring other brands or just buying a straight up cable machine. I’ve been dealing with this since 3/13 and have gotten nowhere with them.

My experience with Tonal has been abysmal. After three tries to get the unit installed (one of which the delivery service went to the wrong address and refused to drive the last two blocks to the actual address causing yet another two week delay) they finally made it to my apartment where they promptly drilled into the drywall BEFORE locating the studs and left numerous visible holes not hidden by the unit. THEN the unit won't connect. At all. Reset the router. Reset the unit. Did all that again...and again...and again...and again...and AGAIN. Nothing. Router is pushing 800+Mbps upload and 75+Mbps upload and is between 15-20 feet from the unit with one intervening wall.What has been the worst is the Customer Service. I am hearing impaired and it would seem every single customer service person has a very thick accent and I simply cannot understand all that I am being told as I am being instructed which hoops to jump through. When they call and leave a message it is indecipherable and the emails are similarly confusing (and in the same unprofessional tone). This is all very disappointing and unexpected for a device that is supposed to be a premier item. Having this much trouble just getting the unit to function at baseline (added to the lack of coherent customer interaction) left me feeling like the only option was to have them come get the unit and repair the damage to the wall. ...which led to the most confounding part of the experience. Many things could have been said such as "I am sorry Tonal isn't meeting your needs. I would like to discuss how to make this right for you" or other similarly worded statements showing Tonal standing behind their product...instead they hung up on me and sent me to a survey. No thanks Tonal 0/10.

I really enjoy having the Tonal machine in our home. It’s convenient, sleek, and having the option to work out at home instead of going to a gym is a huge plus. The workouts themselves are solid and the system is well designed.However, I think it’s a bit ridiculous that after spending $4,295 on the machine, you are still required to subscribe to a $60/month membership to fully use it. For that kind of upfront investment, there should absolutely be tiered subscription options, including at least a free basic tier for people who already purchased the hardware.I understand paying for premium classes and coaching features, but it would make much more sense if basic functionality didn’t require an ongoing subscription.Another feature I wish Tonal offered is the option for a true personal trainer experience, not just prerecorded classes. Being able to interact with a trainer or receive more personalized guidance would add a lot of value to the platform.Overall, the machine itself is impressive and convenient for home workouts, but the subscription model feels excessive given the already high purchase price.
