Universal Studios Hollywood Reviews
Universal Studios Hollywood earns strong ratings from most visitors, who praise the attractions, dining, shopping, and character interactions as outstanding. Families particularly enjoy the overall experience and holiday events, with many noting that despite high costs, the memories created justify the investment. However, a notable segment of visitors cite frustration with tipping practices, specifically aggressive tip solicitation at restaurant registers that conflicts with the park's no-tipping positioning.
The park's attractions and employee service receive consistent compliments across positive reviews. Some visitors prefer Universal to competing theme parks, though individual preferences on specific rides (such as updated versions of classic attractions) vary. A small portion of reviews reference serious concerns outside the scope of typical visitor feedback.
Universal Studios has a lot going for it with great attractions and wonderful employees. However, there's a real issue with the tipping culture here. They market themselves as a no-tipping destination, but then they have restaurants using aggressive tip solicitation at the register before service is even provided. This happens at certain locations like one in the Wizarding World section. When I brought this up, staff claimed it was everywhere, which simply isn't true. It's a manipulative strategy designed to squeeze more money out of visitors. I've talked to higher-ups about this, but they continue to allow it, using pressure tactics to boost their bottom line.

Hollywood icon visit at the park. Great at what she does on screen. Stick with acting and skip the politics.
Had such a wonderful time with the family during the holidays. Yes, expenses pile up quickly, but the moments you create together make it totally worth the investment. Go ahead and treat yourself!
This is my favorite place to visit over and over again. I actually prefer it to Disneyland. One thing though - I liked the original King Kong better than the current computer-generated version, but that's just me.
The VIP tour package blew us away. Throughout the entire day we barely had to wait in any lines, the dining options were outstanding, and the private studio tour was incredible. Our tour guide was absolutely fantastic though - so knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely invested in making our day special. He really went above and beyond. Universal knocked it out of the park with this one.
Total rip-off here. The attractions feel stale and uninspiring, and honestly the Super Mario stuff is a huge letdown. Such a poor use of money. Management really needs to step up their game.
Don't throw your money away here. Absolutely disappointing and frustrating. Even my kids refused to go back today. We only managed a half day yesterday because of the overwhelming crowds. You literally can't do anything without dealing with massive lines - I had to wait over twenty minutes just to use the restroom.
Skip the VIP package entirely. It's basically a scam that costs you a fortune without delivering real value. Stay away from this place. The staff is incompetent and won't make you feel welcome. Go to Disney World instead - no regrets there. The cast members are genuinely friendly and their express pass system lets you ride with minimal waits.
Seriously fantastic place to spend a day! Every attraction is fantastic, though Jurassic World and the WaterWorld experience are truly exceptional. Meeting the WaterWorld cast members afterward is something you shouldn't skip. You can also hang out with Megatron and Blue the Raptor - they're both incredible! And don't miss out on grabbing a bite at Krusty Burger. Really delicious!
What an awesome destination! Every single ride is fantastic, but the Jurassic World attraction and WaterWorld show really stand out from the rest. Getting to meet the WaterWorld performers after the show is a must-do experience. Plus you can interact with Megatron and Blue the Raptor, and they're incredible! Grab a meal at Krusty Burger too - it's seriously tasty!
Really impressed with everything! I was especially thrilled with the Secret Life of Pets experience. Absolutely loved it!
The children had such a blast! Out of all the theme parks we hit, Universal Studios was my kids' favorite spot. There are fun attractions for grown-ups too, not just the little ones.
