Had a really bad experience at this store last Friday. One of the female employees treated me terribly and was extremely offensive. She threatened to call the police on me just because I was shopping there, which made no sense. This happened even after another coworker told her to honor the price that was marked on the item. The employee then claimed she ran the store and would throw me out. When I asked for her name, she deliberately turned her name badge around so I couldn't see it. She kept being rude to me even after I stopped engaging with her. If you're a person of color, I'd really think twice before going here, especially if that older lady is working. I just wanted to buy one wrench for fifteen dollars and was willing to pay for a whole set because they don't sell singles. That's the kind of treatment I got. I plan to contact the manager about this, and if he doesn't seem concerned, I'm escalating it further up the chain.

Ace Hardware charges way too much for their stuff. I have two locations near me, and I do a lot of home projects, so I shop around. They're the priciest option in my area and seem to have too many people working for what you get. I've started making the drive to other places because it's just not worth it.

When it comes to buying hardware in person, sure, Ace has what you need. But if you're trying to shop online for better prices and convenience, this is not your store. Their website keeps messing up my orders, and if you want the ease and selection that the big box stores offer, you're honestly better off going there instead.

I bought Christmas lights online from Ace Hardware, and honestly it's been a disaster. I have my PayPal receipt as proof, but that's the only confirmation I ever got. The store never sent me an order confirmation, never shipped anything, and never even tried to contact me. They had no problem taking my money though. The email address on the receipt from Ace looks sketchy, like something a scammer would throw together. When I reached out to that email, I got nothing back. I had to go through PayPal to report it as fraud, which meant dealing with even more back and forth. Ace basically took my money without a second thought, lost my trust completely, and wasted a ton of my time dealing with this mess.

It's fine as long as you don't actually need to talk to a real person. Good luck getting help after your initial purchase, and there's basically no way to reach someone at the store. Their online support is practically nonexistent, you just get told thanks for waiting with no actual response.

The team here is really welcoming and easy to talk to, even if you don't know much about hardware and DIY projects. They pointed me in the right direction and patiently answered every question I had. They also gave me some solid suggestions that were really valuable.

He claimed he knocked but it wasn't a knock back, and that they had actually opened at 7:59. When I disagreed with him, he just hung up on me. It's pretty clear they don't want my business, and honestly, I'm happy to shop somewhere that actually appreciates customers.

I've been really impressed with Nate, the new manager at the Bee Ridge store in Sarasota. He really takes care of his customers and goes above and beyond with his service. You can tell he actually cares about making people's experience better.

I went to pick up something I'd ordered online and gave my name to the cashier. She got someone to help find my order, but then kept asking me to describe what I'd bought instead of just looking it up by my name. Even though I explained my order should be under my name with a confirmation email, she kept pushing me to list the actual items. This went back and forth several times in front of other people, which was embarrassing. Eventually I just listed what was in the package and then they found it right away in the back with my name on the receipt. I was really frustrated that they made me jump through hoops like that instead of just checking their system by my name.

I've been an Ace Hardware customer for a really long time, and my local store on Rogers Avenue has always been excellent. Today I worked with Brad, and he was absolutely great to interact with. He had a genuine smile, was upbeat and personable, and really helped me find quality products that fit within my budget without sacrificing what I needed.

The people working here are always there to help. No matter if I'm walking in or leaving, someone's greeting me or asking if I need a hand finding something.
