Franklin Covey receives overwhelmingly negative feedback, with shoppers expressing deep disappointment after decades of loyalty. Long-time customers report significant declines in product quality, including thinner paper that bleeds through, cheap plastic tabs that break quickly, loose binder bindings, and deteriorating leather covers, all while prices continue to rise. Customer service has become a major pain point, with reviewers citing rude representatives, unresponsive support teams, inadequate business hours, tracking number errors, and difficult return processes that require multiple phone calls and emails to resolve.

While some reviewers acknowledge that the Franklin Covey planning system itself remains effective for goal-setting and task management, this is overshadowed by frustration over quality degradation and service failures. The consistent theme across reviews is that Franklin Covey has lost the excellence that kept customers loyal for 25 to 35+ years, making the combination of declining products, rising costs, and poor support the primary drivers of dissatisfaction.

This is terrible! I've been buying from them for over 25 years and their support used to be fantastic. Now it's just awful. Wanted to return a tote bag and it turned into a nightmare with 3 phone calls and 5 emails back and forth. They kept blaming the manufacturer for why they couldn't process the return. I even tracked down the supplier myself and got nothing. After 8 weeks I still don't have a return authorization. If good customer service matters to you, steer clear of this company. They've really thrown away their reputation.

This is just terrible! I've been using Franklin planners since way back when they were called Franklin Quest. The system itself works well but the company has really messed up the actual product over time. It looks the same on the outside but the paper is garbage quality and the printing sometimes bleeds right through. When I write with anything but a pencil, the ink soaks through! My 2025 refill was missing two whole weeks of February. I reached out to customer support about this mistake and they did nothing to help. This year's compact refills are running over 60 dollars. When I first started using these they were about 30 dollars and the quality was way better. I started shopping for 2026 refills, saw the price tag, and immediately changed my mind. I also tried posting a review on their website but you can't leave one unless you just made a new purchase. I'm completely done with this company and will never buy from them again.

I've been a long time FranklinCovey planner user and I'm really let down by the 2025 page refills. I've had these planners for at least 35 years now. The whole reason they work so well for me is the system lets you set both immediate and long range goals while keeping track of your daily to-do list. Nothing ever gets lost or forgotten with this method. But these new refills have such poor paper quality that when you write on the pages, the ink soaks through to the back making both sides really hard to read.

I called about an order that was running late. The customer service rep I got was incredibly rude and didn't seem to care at all! NOT ordering from them anymore. My package still hasn't arrived. Plus my last order was a planner and the leather quality has really gone downhill while prices keep going up. They're overrated, way too expensive, and honestly deserve zero stars. Even one star feels generous.

Kevin H.Aug 9, 2024

I've been using Franklin planners for 30+ years. The quality keeps dropping while they keep raising prices. My binder came loose from the leather cover in less than a year and those cheap plastic tabs fall apart in a couple months. Really sad to watch this decline.

Emma S.Aug 6, 2024

I really like their planning system but the customer service is a total letdown. Business hours are way too short and they sent me a tracking number that doesn't match what the shipping company has on file. It's been two weeks since my order shipped and I still can't find my package. I've sent three separate emails with nothing back. Their office closes before I even leave work, and when I try calling during my lunch break I just sit on hold forever with no one picking up. I'm not ordering from them again and I'd tell anyone else to look elsewhere.

After years of being a loyal customer, I'm finally done with Franklin Planner. Here's why: First, when you buy from them they say all sales are final and non-refundable even if your package arrives damaged. Are you serious? Second, shipping to Europe costs one third of what the item itself costs, and then I have to pay another 25% tax on top of that. Other companies shipping from the US manage to do it way cheaper with standard carriers. Third, the products really are old fashioned and the company has basically turned into a profit machine with zero interest in what customers actually need. I sent them an email about that first issue and never heard back. That's the end of Franklin Planner for me.

Michelle R.Sep 30, 2021

I completely relate to what other customers have said about Franklin Planner. I've had the exact same frustration. Multiple times over the years, I've suggested improvements to their planner and calendar selections. Every single time, the customer service reps have been dismissive and rude. Who are they hiring? It's clear their company culture is stuck in the past, refuses to listen to what customers actually want, and has no clue what's happening in today's planner world. It's unfortunate because they could have owned this market. They need a complete overhaul and fresh approach. Most of their planner designs look ugly, the color options are either bad looking or too limited (like a nice peacock blue binder with zero black options in the same quality), the materials are cheap on many items, some planners have rings that are too small, and the closures on lots of their products are problematic.

Their planners look so behind the times. When I told them this, the rep basically shut me down. I switched back to Day-Timer and won't be going back to them.
