I've been a paying subscriber for years and this is my final year ending in November. The recent website redesign is terrible on my iPhone, with everything jumping around. It's much less intuitive than before.

After having issues with Morningstar, I reached out to a recovery specialist and was impressed by how straightforward they were. They didn't make unrealistic promises and broke down everything clearly. Their integrity made a real difference and I got my money back.

The individual stock and fund reviews are solid. Their investment recommendations are mediocre at best, promoting dividend stocks that haven't raised payouts in forever. The biggest issue though is how the website performs. It's frequently sluggish and certain features either don't work or give incomplete information. They really need to overhaul their technical infrastructure.

This is the top data provider and portfolio management platform available. The features and upgrades keep coming, and the integration is seamless. The team is extremely knowledgeable and well prepared. All of this at a fair price point.

I get a kick out of reading the company's responses to angry customers because they sound like those automated bank messages. They always begin with generic thanks and appreciation. Morningstar, keep those responses going. They seem very polished.

The people running this company lack basic competence. They built a website that doesn't even display the funds available. As an investment site, you'd think showing investment options would be priority number one. I can't find the products I'm interested in, which defeats the entire purpose. I won't use this service and I'm shocked they're still in business.

Be careful with this company. They kept billing my credit card even after I cancelled my services. When I called to complain, they only prorated one month of charges even though I hadn't used the account in years. The staff at this company should face serious consequences.

I'd give zero stars if the system allowed it. The platform is incredibly difficult to navigate and their customer service doesn't help simplify anything about reviewing stocks or building portfolios. I've been using this for years and still don't understand most of it. I've wanted to quit multiple times but nobody from their team bothers to respond to my requests. When I finally got my rep on the phone after pestering him for a week, he claimed I couldn't cancel because I paid for the full year and refused to refund the remaining three months, which amounts to significant money. There are much better options out there. Morningstar is outdated, overhyped, and underperforms. Skip it.

Morningstar has serious data problems and their stock screener is broken. The issues take years to fix if they ever do. For example, if you track dividend stocks and download the watchlist daily, you'll notice the dividend amount changes every day instead of the yield, which makes no sense. When I reported this nearly two years ago, support couldn't explain it and nothing's been fixed. Their advanced filters also don't work and Morningstar confirmed this in a support session two years ago. Still broken. Other sites like Seeking Alpha, Investing.com, and Barchart offer better functionality, more data, accuracy, affordability, and responsiveness. Morningstar is fine for ratings but unreliable for data and stock screening.

The signup process is broken and won't allow me to complete my subscription. Not a great first impression.

I think they adjust prices based on market movements, which isn't real analysis. Their projections are too focused on short-term shifts, so they're constantly revising recommendations. A real investor like Buffett would lose money following their model. Good analysts stand by their valuations even when markets act irrational, but Morningstar rushes to change everything. When Meta dropped, they quickly downgraded it. When stocks climbed, they upgraded just as fast. Their international picks are equally bad, suggesting BABA, JD, and PDD one week, then TEMU, JD, and BABA the next. How is any investor supposed to follow advice that changes weekly?

This is a solid site for researching stocks and it's very helpful.

They don't deserve even one star. I run a registered investment advisory business and we're just as frustrated as individual investors. Morningstar used to be the industry standard but not anymore. The current leadership seems more focused on pushing ESG and DEI agendas than actually serving clients. In my view, they're destroying the company from within.

Even after closing my account, they still charged my card when the subscription renewed. I requested a full refund but they declined because I couldn't access the service. I'm disputing the charge through my bank and having them blocked. The website was down constantly and full of broken links to their own pages. Not helpful at all.

My Dividend Investor subscription renewed when I didn't authorize it. Their website promises easy cancellation and refunds, but they ignore cancellation requests through email. For such an established company, this looks like a subscription trap. Don't subscribe.
