Polar's watches receive sharply divided feedback, with a 2.0 out of 5 rating from 21 reviewers. Shoppers who are satisfied with Polar devices praise their durability and workout tracking accuracy, with some reporting years of reliable use. However, the majority of reviews highlight significant concerns: inaccurate sleep tracking that misrepresents actual rest patterns, frequent software syncing failures requiring factory resets, limited external temperature measurement features perceived as artificial product segmentation, and severely problematic customer service experiences including lack of phone support, unhelpful return policies, and staff unwilling to assist with troubleshooting.

Common complaints extend beyond product functionality to company practices. Customers report difficulty obtaining replacement parts like straps, being offered minimal compensation (such as $10) to retain defective products, and challenges completing returns within reasonable timeframes. Several reviewers describe the experience as frustrating enough to warn others away from the brand entirely. While a small segment of loyal users celebrates specific older models for their longevity, the predominance of one-star reviews suggests potential quality control inconsistencies and service standards that disappoint most recent purchasers.

Really disappointed that Polar Vantage M3 includes a barometric sensor but won't let you use it to measure external temperature. This feels like a deliberate choice to push people toward the pricier Vantage V3 model. The reasoning about body temperature skewing readings doesn't hold up when older Polar watches like the S720i worked fine measuring temperature with a barometric sensor in similar positions, even during swimming. It's frustrating to see a brand that built its reputation on quality resort to this kind of marketing tactic. The competition from Chinese manufacturers is getting stronger, and moves like this won't help Polar stay ahead.

Bought a Polar wristband and the sleep tracking was completely off from day one. The data made no sense showing I slept five hours when I was actually awake for multiple stretches during the night. Right away I knew this wasn't working and it definitely wasn't worth what I paid. I returned it pretty quickly but now four months later I'm still waiting for my refund. I tried asking customer service if they could provide an MDS so I could use cheaper shipping for the return, but they never replied. The whole return process is awkward and doesn't feel customer focused. The product itself wasn't good quality either. I remember when Polar used to have solid ratings but everything about them has gone downhill. I can only give this experience one star.

This watch turned out to be garbage. Getting help is impossible since there's no customer service phone line and nowhere to send it back. When I asked about returning it they offered me 10 bucks to just keep the broken thing. Do yourself a favor and look somewhere else.

Polar is okay but they've fallen behind compared to what Garmin is doing with their technology. I have the Polar Pace Pro and every few months I have to do a factory reset because it stops syncing with the app for no reason. I've tried everything and it always ends up needing a reset no matter what. The swimming features aren't great either. The Strava connection is broken so indoor pool sessions log my pace as super slow while open water swimming shows times like I'm an Olympic athlete. I'm counting down the days until I can switch over to Garmin.

Honestly I'm shocked by some of the negative reviews out there for Polar. My first Polar watch, an Eclipse model, has been going strong for over 5 years now and it's exceeded my expectations by a mile. It's rock solid, holds up great, and tracks my regular workouts with solid accuracy. The one thing that could be better is the Flow app. When I first got it the app wasn't very intuitive, and although they've added more features over time, it's gotten messier and harder to navigate. But if staying loyal to a product means anything, then you should know I just upgraded to a new Polar watch. The device itself is excellent.

Got the Loop 2 but hated the strap design and couldn't track down a silicone replacement anywhere. Their customer service team was by far the worst I've ever dealt with. They did absolutely nothing to help me work through the problem. I had to sell it at a loss since they wouldn't even offer a return option even though it was less than a week old. The app is pretty much useless on top of everything else.

Their customer service completely dropped the ball when my device started having problems just before the warranty expired. They wanted nothing to do with helping me out.

If you're comfortable buying a new sports watch every three years for several hundred pounds, Polar has decent technology. I chose the Vantage M2 because I needed a multisport watch for triathlon and options are pretty limited. The watch performed great until a couple weeks after the warranty ended. Then the GPS stopped working. Right around the same time my wife's Ignite 2 died too, and that one was still under warranty. Polar replaced hers no problem, but told me to factory reset mine. That got it working again for a while. But recently both our watches had the function button fail on the exact same day without either of us doing anything rough with them. That's quite the coincidence. I give the watch itself one star for being intuitive and user friendly, and another star for customer service since I haven't had the same nightmares others describe. But having both devices give up after just three years is ridiculous. I just ordered a different brand and it won't be Polar, not unless the new one also falls apart in three years. Then maybe I'll reconsider.

Product stopped working and the customer service team in the UK was absolutely no help at all.

Picked up a Polar Loop back in November and it's been a headache ever since. Now it won't sync with anything. I've sent 6 or 7 emails over the past couple weeks and haven't gotten a single response. I'm done with this company. All I want is my money back for this faulty product. This is the worst customer service experience I've had anywhere.

I ordered a replacement band for my Polar watch using Polar's compatibility search tool, which said it would work with my model. When it arrived, the band was completely incompatible. Trying to reach customer service has been a nightmare. All they offer is a chat bot that promises to have someone email you, but after more than a week I never heard anything back. There's no phone line, no direct email option, and the chat is unavailable most times I try. I had to do a chargeback to get my money back. Then Polar contacted me after the chargeback was settled asking me to reverse it and pay for return shipping on a product they incorrectly said would fit my watch. The refund takes 2 to 4 weeks after you pay to ship the item back. This company advertised something that doesn't work with your watch and makes you jump through hoops to return it. Steer clear.

I've been loyal to Polar for over 11 years with multiple watches and accessories. Back in the day their customer service was fantastic, like when they replaced a battery for me a decade ago or fixed my heart rate monitor without any hassle. Unfortunately things have gotten significantly worse over the past few years. Three years back I had trouble with my H10 and dealt with a rep who was pretty disrespectful and blamed me for the problem. That left a bad taste, but I moved on. Now I bought a Polar payment wristband that quit working after just four weeks. I reached out to customer support and got nothing. A chat person told me they'd have someone get in touch but nobody ever did. I also filed a request through the website with zero response. After waiting 10 days I tried chatting again. This time they said they have no idea when anything will happen and some unnamed team needs to respond first. I got an apology and was told to wait longer, but with no actual timeline. I'm sitting here with a £50 plastic band that's worthless to me. I don't think Polar is even interested in fixing this.

Polar makes some solid products but they're not getting the fundamentals right. Customer service is really bad. I'm trying to send back a Polar Loop and their support page mentions a return label, which I never got. I spent basically the whole day trying to reach a person and finally connected twice with someone named Aris, hours apart. Both times he said he wasn't part of the UK team and had zero clue how to send me a return slip. He was pretty useless about it. I kept trying but kept getting the same person, who kept saying he'd pass me to the UK department and then would just end the chat. This company needs to get their act together. I definitely won't be ordering from Polar going forward.

Got my Polar H10 heart rate monitor about two years ago for indoor rowing, which a lot of people in my group recommended. Within the first year it started having occasional connection issues. Polar replaced the strap at no cost and that seemed to fix it temporarily. A few months back the pairing problems came back worse than before. I went through all the troubleshooting steps customer service suggested, then got told my case would go to higher level support. That was months ago and I haven't heard a single word since, even after sending multiple follow up emails. There's no phone support available which makes it impossible to actually talk to someone. I feel like Polar just abandoned me. Really let down by the lack of support.

Gregory N.Aug 17, 2025

My old Polar from 10 years ago worked way better than this new garbage. It's only two years old and already won't stay connected to my H10 heart rate strap anymore, even with a fresh battery in the strap. The battery dies after like 10 workouts which is pathetic. This thing is disposable junk. The only way all those five star reviews make sense is if the reviewers are getting paid off. Something else must be going on. Time to find a watch that actually works.
