One of my suitcases was lost at LAX on a business class stopover from Brisbane to Heathrow Christmas 2025. 7 weeks later the bag has not been found and the baggage 'specialists' are refusing to reimburse the correct amount. A warning to all who have to use this service - the form AA send to fill out with the lost bag items is faulty. Two pages of my items didn't appear on their form and they are now saying that they cannot be included. This is the most disgraceful customer service I have ever experienced. The bag contents were around £2000 and the sum for reimbursement was offered at £697.85. The staff are rude and unhelpful, and seem intent on saving their employers as much of my money as possible. Please note - if you lose your bag on an American Airlines flight do not expect it to be found or for the costs to be reimbursed correctly.

How is customer service missed in training? From check in to behind the counter and on the phone. Telling at all guests over the intercom. How embarrassing. In flight service is nice, that’s it

Our flight going from Myrtle Beach to Charlotte,NC ,then to Belize City went smoothly. But, returning was a whole different experience. One I'd like to forget. First, the weather was horrible and many flights were cancelled. But we went to the airport, knowing the flight was delayed. When we arrived to the airport, they just cancelled our flight totally, with no communication prior to going to the airport. So, then they had NO other flights except for on one day and one the next day. We had to book 2 hotels & figure out shuttles service.The worst part was that American Airlines didn't even provide hotel cost for either day!! I get that the weather was bad, but we got totally cancelled. I believe that will be our LAST Flight with American Airlines.

Just to narrow it down, American Airlines needs to get their business together and focus on customer service. I will definitely avoid taking this airline again if at all possible!

Albeit on a weather affected travel day, AA cancelled my flight after I had dropped my bags at the airport. Was showing as running, then bam - cancelled. Why so late - no idea. Neither did they as they could not give me a reason when i asked.Booked onto an indirect flight. 5 minutes before boarding, they said no crew. Did they not know earlier than that??? 2 hour delay. 2 hours later, same thing - just before boarding, another 90 minutes delay. AA could not explain the reasons for this. Then 3 hours to get my bag back! And my compensation for sitting at DCA for 11.5 hours and missing a meeting with an important new client. $50. These guys are jokers. They way they operate borders on shambolic, and their customer support is stingy and unapologetic. Their attitude will cost them much more than they should have compensated me as I will just avoid flying them now.

Like most of these reviewers I had a horrible experience with this useless airline and ended up in Philadelphia for 24 hours. Most of the staff went out of their way to be as rude and unhelpful as possible. This horrible customer service comes from the top Robert Isom and co. get out of your ivory towers and sort this mess out!

Kept us on the flight for longer than needed. Missed our flight to Cancun so had to stay in Chicago over night missed an entire day of our vacation because of this shitty ass airline do not ever use American Airlines if you want your trip to be fun

This airline is a joke. I paid for seats on a flight that I ended up missing (due to American Airlines delays) they took responsibility for this and gave me a new flight, but refuse to refund me for the seats that I never used because they said I was on the original flight! I've sent them proof (boarding passes) that I was on a replacement flight - that THEY GAVE ME, but they've ignored my email all week

American Airlines is the worst airline imaginable. In 2 days I have experienced 4 cancellations and 2 delays. There is no communication between their departments, so they schedule flights without crews. And then only at the last minute do that claim there is no crew available. I have never experienced so many flght issues on any other airline. I do not recommned American Airlines to anyone.

I wish I could give zero stars. This airline is a joke. I only booked American Airlines because there were very limited options flying out of Arkansas. I’m trying to change my return flight a full month in advance, and they’re telling me I have to pay more than double the original price just to change it.Completely unreasonable and disappointing. This experience is exactly why I prefer flying Delta — they’re fair, transparent, and actually helpful. I won’t be booking American Airlines again.
