I got two subscriptions for someone and they worked fine until that person moved. Even after the magazines became undeliverable, magazines.com kept auto renewing. Once I called to get them stopped, they did cancel but no refund or store credit appeared. When I followed up about it, I didn't hear back. Their auto renewal system seems designed to rip people off and make money.

Never got my magazines and had to report the charges as fraudulent with my credit card company just to get the money back.

I was promised I'd get a notification before my People subscription renewed. That never showed up. I checked everything and no notification arrived. I think that's how they operate, luring you in with a bargain then surprise charging you at renewal. The cancellation process is a pain with tons of menu options and voice prompts. Finally reached a person and she was calling from some facility overseas. She said the subscription got cancelled and a refund was issued, but we'll see.

The technology is incredibly slow. Feels sketchy, maybe worse. Processing payments takes forever and canceling subscriptions is a nightmare.

Total scam operation here. I turned off auto renewal after getting my subscriptions and got a confirmation number. Eight months go by and I get an email saying I'll be charged $35 if I don't cancel. Problem is the link doesn't work, my password reset failed, and when I call the number it just hangs up. Emails go nowhere. I had to report it as fraud through PayPal and ask my bank to flag future charges from them.

They just quit shipping my magazine even though coverage supposedly went through next April. Somehow they misread a date and cut it off. Then they pointed fingers at the magazine itself. And that's on top of dealing with their automated system that's nearly impossible to escape, plus when you do get a person they're calling from overseas. I've been a customer for years but I'm finished. That's it.

Skip ordering from them. Bad experience all around. I got Golf Magazine and was promised an umbrella and gear bag. After calling repeatedly with empty promises, I never got either item. Plus it took forever to receive the first magazine. They charged my card for renewal without me asking. Getting my money back was a hassle.

Canceling a subscription with them is basically impossible. Total scam.

They charged me $108 last year for two People subscriptions, and neither I nor my friend ever got a single copy. Nobody will respond when I try to complain, and now they've hit me with another $113 charge for subscriptions I'm sure won't arrive either. Don't go with this company.

No warning about auto renewal and they just processed it without asking. Can't reach an actual person to talk to.

They had the lowest price I could find for People Magazine, so I went with them. Big mistake. Days after ordering, I got an email saying my purchase wasn't complete. I found a subscription in my cart and thought maybe I messed up, so I ordered it. Then a popup showed asking about another magazine. I said no thanks the first time. Second popup, same answer. Third time, that no thanks button somehow turned into a purchase button without warning me. My card got charged twice for unwanted copies plus the sneaky popup charge. I looked at my card and saw the original order was already paid. I went back and cancelled those two new charges they snuck in. They never responded.

They sent me an expired magazine for my first of seven issues. After I requested a refund, they tacked on a $4.00 charge for that stale issue I got on May 21, 2024, even though the cover says 'display until Mar. 1, 2024.'
