Come to find out these blankets are made from recycled plastic, which has me concerned about what my family and grandkids might be breathing in. I should've looked into the product more carefully before dropping that much money on blankets I can't even use.
Got four pieces in November to give as Christmas gifts. Two arrived in the wrong size. When I tried to return them on their website, it said I was past the return deadline. That doesn't make sense for Christmas shopping because you can't tell if something fits or works until you actually open the presents on Christmas Day. They really need a longer return window for holiday purchases. Plus, I waited over twenty minutes trying to chat with someone on their return page and nobody ever showed up to help. Customer service here is honestly awful.
Ordered a top in royal blue and got sent a purple one instead that wasn't even the same style. So the winter pajamas really are cozy and warm, which is great. But the red plaid pair has a serious issue with the material. After I washed them, I kept seeing this black stuff on my clothes and couldn't figure out where it was coming from. I initially thought maybe something was wrong with my new washer and dryer. Turns out the black stripes on the pajamas were the problem. It seems like they melted in the dryer. I've read that a bunch of clothing manufacturers are mixing plastic into synthetic fabrics now, and it shows here. Over the last month, this black residue has gotten on five towels, about five pillowcases, five dish towels, and three other pairs of pajamas. That's roughly one hundred seventy dollars worth of stuff I had to throw away. The towels came from Pottery Barn and weren't cheap either. I tried rewashing everything, but the black stuff won't come out. It's a shame because if you're going to run a big operation like this, why not use quality materials? Plus, the stuff sometimes hardens into little balls and you can see it's definitely plastic, not dirt.
Absolutely terrible experience. I would rate them zero stars if I could. They flat out refused to replace an electric blanket that had a defective wire just because I didn't have the receipt available. We bought it three years back and didn't even unpack it until two months ago. It's ridiculous that they advertise a five-year warranty when they won't actually honor it. Kohl's won't keep purchase records past two years anyway, so expecting customers to hold onto receipts that long while backing a five-year promise is just deceptive and dishonest.
