Robot Development FedericaX 48 is over a decade old. Links fail: 404. Latest references are to 2015. It's 2026! Lectures have no diagrams. Slides mentioned aren't provided. Auto-generated transcripts and I struggled with lecturers' speech. Patently nobody's checked material before publication. I'd like to quit and get my $55 back -- or see an updated version.

I already hold a postgraduate degree and enrolled in an edX MicroMasters in Data Science to deepen my skills. I ran into several issues. The courses move quickly, provide minimal reading material, and introduce advanced mathematical and programming concepts with very little support—often just a 2–5 minute video and a single page of notes. In practice, you end up teaching yourself. For most exercises and assessments, I had to spend significant time finding external resources that actually explained the material. This isn’t necessarily a deal breaker, but it does make the learning curve steep. The deal breakers were different. Assessment is mostly multiple choice, the discussion forums are inactive, and some quiz answers are hard‑coded and no longer match updated public datasets—making correct answers impossible. I only received marks after asking why I kept failing. Eventually, the course expected a level of knowledge that hadn’t been taught, amounting to undeclared prerequisites.I tried another edX course, but lost a full day just trying to install outdated software and unsupported Java versions required for the assignments. While workarounds exist, the platform’s reliance on obsolete tools makes it difficult to complete tasks as instructed.

A terrible terrible organisation that wrongly took payment one year ago and has ignored pleas to cancel for the past 12 months. What’s the chances they try again ?Beware.

"AI for Leaders" a paid for course provided by Babson. Unfortunately given how old this material was any leaders who took this course when originally released are probably retired by now.Shocking that EDx would charge for material that is simply no longer fit for purpose. Also shocking that Babson have not updated and allow this to remain for sale on the site.

I audited the edX class titled "Introduction to Artificial Intelligence with Python."The lecturer and the material offered by the course were very good. The course was originally offered by Harvard in 2020. Unfortunately, the course material has not been properly maintained since that time. I had no problem following the course and its material for the first 2 sessions out of its 7 sessions. However, the third session, titled ‘Uncertainty,’ had a very serious problem. The source code, model.py, which was provided in the course’s video presentation, failed to run. The reason for the failure is that model.py was dependent on an import library, pomegranate. The problem is that the current version of pomegranate (2025) is not backwards compatible with the 2020 version. I would like to point out that I am not the only person who has experienced this problem. There were others who took the course and also made similar comments. When I complained about it to edX, the answer was that they will not look into it because I am only auditing the course. This is not a professional response! If edX has a defective product, it should not tell a potential customer that they will not investigate the problem unless that customer buys the defective product. For now, I do not recommend this course unless edX corrects this problem.

I received the confirmation email and the order is also visible in my Order History, but the course dashboard still shows I am on the audit version and is prompting me to upgrade. Here are the details:Course Name: Introduction to Computer Science and Programming Using PythonOrder ID: 2U-2025367782Please fix this as soon as possible. I will only start with this course when this issue is resolved

Platform is unusable due to constant popups encouraging you to "upgrade". Even after dismissing them they constantly come up.What doess paying for a course get you? A useless certificate and an AI chatbot. Money making scam.

Paid $299 for Harvard Certificate, edX Claims Payment Didn't Go ThroughI enrolled my son in a Harvard course through edX and paid $299 for a physical certificate to be shipped. However, edX is now stating that the payment didn't go through, despite my bank statement clearly showing the charge. This situation is incredibly frustrating, especially since we've already completed the course and were looking forward to receiving the certificate.I've attempted to resolve this through edX's support channels but haven't received a satisfactory response. It's disappointing to encounter such issues with a reputable platform. I hope edX addresses this promptly and ensures that other learners don't face similar problems.

Horrible support, they don't even read the request nor try to address any issues related to it, they just reply in an automatic/robotic way and close the request, once I realized I can get the Harvard certification free from the Harvard website itself, I don't even want the financial aid anymore, it's scummy to ask for payment for something that is provided for free.
