Auto-renewed after I send a ticket asking for refund of my subscription. Edit:The product was refunded

Honestly, Parallels’ billing practices completely killed any goodwill I had toward this company.I was charged **around $130 for an annual renewal I didn’t realize I had**, after not using the software for months. There was **no clear reminder or heads-up** that the renewal was coming — just a charge out of the blue. When I contacted support immediately and explained that I wasn’t using the product and didn’t knowingly agree to an annual renewal, they **refused to refund me, no matter what**. No grace period, no flexibility, no attempt to be reasonable. Just scripted responses and a hard “no.”This feels less like an honest mistake and more like a **deliberate business model built around auto-renewal traps and refund resistance**. A company that was confident in its product wouldn’t need to rely on this kind of behavior. The software itself might be fine, but the way they treat customers is not. I ended up disputing the charge with my bank, and I will never do business with Parallels again. If you’re considering Parallels: **be extremely careful**. Cancel well in advance or avoid it entirely — because once they charge you, they’re not interested in fairness.

Dear Prallels team, I will try to reach you here as your support is probably the worst I have ever experienced. I understand, that it is probably difficult to handle all the online traffic but this is something I have never seen before. I am in touch with someone called Bipasha Ghosh regarding refund. The refund was accepted as I was charged for a yearly subscription after cancelling via email. This person is probably worst than an AI BOT as he/she keeps replying the same automated answers. I have informed her/him that my card the refund should go back to was canceled but it feels like talking to a brick wall. If there is someone who could get in touch with me and sort it out, I would be very glad. It is a shame that such a wonderful product is given such a trash support team. I have very much enjoyed using it the last year and I would like to support you but as I said, this is probably the worst experience I ever had with support. Anyone thinking about parallels should probably look for alternatives until this gets sorted out. Seeing the feedback here, I am not alone and your support team should really be restructured.

Worst support ever (basically no answer). They took money from my customers credit card even after ending autorenoval (no products are shown in her account). They never answer or followed up any tocket. Even the company cleverbridge which manages their billings in switzerland ever answered! NEVER EVER AGAIN! This is pure fraude!

Terrible company, They make it very hard to cancel your subscription from the website. You have to dig for your initial Sign up email that was from 1 year ago. They also have a "30 day Money back gauruntee" That doesn't apply to a refund. They auto sign you up for renewal even if you just want to try it for a year, then refuse to give you your $120 back even if you cancel the same day that it is charged. this company is a scam.

Would not refund auto-renewal despite being a loyal and long-standing customer.I have been a loyal customer of Parallels since 2008 as I needed access to both Mac and Windows OS for my work. It was more convenient for me to have a single high quality Mac setup that could run both. Along the way I’ve had various compatibility issues, software no longer working, various other technical issues with Parallels but continued with them.I had a change of work circumstances which meant I no longer needed access to Windows, so I decided to cancel my subscription. It has been a very busy time and unfortunately I missed the renewal reminder email and my subscription auto-renewed. I remembered today (<30 days since renewal) and so contacted customer service to ask for a cancellation and refund. For new subscriptions this is allowed within 30 days of signing up. I received prompt responses simply stating that I could not have a refund as it was not within policies.I recognise that companies have policies to guard against unreasonable demands. I feel that 17 years of uninterrupted custom and a refund request within 30 days of an auto-renewal is worthy of a bespoke response beyond the ‘computer says no’ approach. Apparently not. Perhaps I should not have been so optimistic. Leaves a sour taste in the mouth.

I purchased Parallels Desktop on December 4, 2024, to use for gaming on my MacBook. The software did not support gaming as expected, so I canceled the subscription shortly after and never used or opened the product again.Over a year later, Parallels renewed the subscription without my awareness, despite no usage or login activity. I contacted support immediately and escalated the issue, but after nearly a month of back-and-forth, they refused to issue a refund and cited policy instead of considering the situation.

I was on a student subscription as a PhD student starting in 2021, which renewed again in 2022. When I completed my degree at the end of 2022, my student email was deactivated and so I never received subsequent invoices for subscription renewals (2023, 2024, and 2025). I can't log in to my account because that email no longer exists. So the only way for me to even know that I was still subscribed was after I had been charged on my credit card. I noticed the charge on my credit card in 2025 and emailed Parallels to cancel my subscription and get a refund for the 2025 charge. They refused to reimburse me even though I never received invoices and couldn't access my account. So they got an extra ~$150 out of me.

Software works fine. Big plus that you can seamlessly switch from Mac to Windows. Free versions require a restart.BUT - VERY sketchy auto-renew process. And you can't cancel and be refunded. Is that even legal? Who's in for a class action lawsuit?

Watch out for auto renewal of this product. They don't send notification that the renewal is upcoming and will blindly charge your card on file without notice. I thought I had canceled the subscription after the last renewal but somehow they charged me again... and with the renewals specifically excluded from their 30 day money back guaranteed, you can get in a situation you did not expect.
