Safeway.com is horrible and dishonest!

Safeway.com is horrible because they sell you rotten food and don't refund your money when you complain. When I reported the issues and requested a refund they said they would review my request and get back to me in 24-48 hours. It's been 5 days so I contacted them. I uploaded pictures of the rotten food and expired use by dates. Then they told me they would review my request and let me know within 7 business days whether or not my refund would be approved. I've been a loyal customer for over 20 years but this completely destroyed my trust in this company! They don't seem to care about risking people's health and hurting their budget by selling them inedible food topped off with immense frustration. I don't recommend this online service to anyone!

Digital coupons are a bait and switch

Digital coupons are a bait and switch, these over price errors are not accidents. No company is this poor at basic inventory and pricing management on accident. Either way, between incompetence or malfeasance I have zero trust in Safeway. There should be another class action lawsuit. Yes another.

I am 86 years old

I am 86 years old. One of my sma ll pleasures is grocery shopping. I finish with a Starbucks sitting with my husband at tables outside the store. This store at stetson plaza in happy valley removed the places to set. They said because of the high school kids. So safeay doesn't like kids? I have been setting there when they get out of school. Sure they are loud. Happy kids. That's it. Kids are kids . What is wrong with America We used to like kids. I like kids. The other safeway on 35th said they removed there setting area because of homeless. So hire security to tell them they can't hang out. Your customers are the ones that did nothing wrong but they can't set outside now. Neither can your employees.

Safeway continues to gouge consumers

Safeway continues to gouge consumers. I needed one clove of garlic for dinner. When I got to the check out they charged me $1.99. I said this is just a Clove of garlic. The cashier said the sleeve of garlic is $1.99 and so they are charging that price for a clove.I asked her to take it off my bill and then I said you can put all this stuff back and I walked out without my groceries which was about $50.00.I’ll shop elsewhere from now on, I’m sick of Safeways way of doing business.

Safeway bakery at the Hub needs some help.

Safeway store bakery at the Hub in Fremont, Ca provided very poor service. We ordered a cake online six days before pickup. The staff member that received the order left few details for the other staff. Two days before pickup, we got a call that the figurines we requested were not available. The day of pickup, the cake was not complete and without the fruit between the layers. Their display case was nearly empty so that wasn't an alternative for a premade cake with a fruit filling. The cake didnt have the requested decorations or writing. We had to wait for staff to find suitable fugurines and write on the cake. They mentioned it was better to order in the store than online but not why, and it shouldn't matter as both methods should be adequate. After 30 minutes of figuring out how to complete the cake and actually completeing it, they charged us full price and we left disappointed with the experience.

Really High Prices!

Lord have mercy their prices are high! Normally I buy a four flavored variety cake from Walmart for $14.98. Walmart was out of stock so I tried Giant they didn't care it, so I came to Safeway. For the identical cake it cost $10 more. The cost was $24.99. That's ridiculous!

The newest Safeway #2695 was supposed…

The newest Safeway #2695 was supposed to be a showcase model. How disappointing since it's near my house. At the beginning all was new. Now it's just a mess. The people that work their look tired and unhappy. They complain about the manager. He is a jerk. No customer service skills. I also got sick from rancid oil from the Chinese food. They admitted that the oil containers were rancid. If workers aren't happy then something is up with poor managers. I dont shop there any more. Fresher vegetables, etc. at Raleys store on Blue Oaks.

My mother is 94 - this delivery was downright life-threatening

My mother is 94 and lives downstairs in her unit. Very clear delivery instructions were disregarded, and groceries were delivered to the upstairs. She cannot go up or down a single stair, nor could she even lift a bag. Obviously the groceries were not handed to her as requested either. There was no way to contact the delivery person with reminders, which is a very handy part of Instacart. Mistakes can happen but they should be corrected. The chat bot was not helpful. I reported that the delivery was wrong. I clicked on where's my order. Nope. Nothing. Just a picture of the wrong delivery door. An attempt to call customer service resulted in a forever wait. I cannot see any option to reduce the $20 dollar tip my mom insisted on for a 2-block delivery. I could not find any of her neighbors to help her so I headed out to help her. I was sick with worry and kept her on the phone the whole time to make sure she did not feel guilty and attempt to go the upstairs residence to retrieve them. It would have meant her life. No exaggeration whatsoever.I will NEVER use this service again. EVER!! I would rather pay more and use Instacart, a vastly more responsive company. I am deleting the Safeway ap from my phone rather than attempt to order through this dismal service again.
