Be aware and very cautious of The Shield's credit card issued by first national Bank of Omaha they will set an initial high credit limit in 3 months later lower it for no reason and put your usage up to 90 to 95% so it takes your credit score it just happened to me in less than 3 months be aware if I could give this company a zero it would be a minus zero I had two cards with that bank and close them both.

Been purchasing equipment including golf and fishing from Scheels for years now. A+ customer service, product always arrives as expected in the mail. Warranties on broken fishing rods have been used to replace them, and Scheels has always made it a swift process.

Sold me boots online at 220$. Waited a week for them to get here, only to discover they sent a clearly used pair, that was also the wrong color. Heavy creasing, and scuffing were present. I immediately shipped the product back using their return label. It's been over two weeks since USPS shows the return as delivered back to their store, three since I initiated the return. Even after contacting customer service, I have not been refunded and have received no communication from them. I had no other choice but to go directly to my bank to formally dispute the charge.

Customer service is terrible, i ordered some items because they said they shipped to Canada, the shipping was really cheap too. Turns out after i placed the order they must have realized they didn't charge me enough because they told me they could no longer ship to me and cancelled the order, just like that. Highly recommend taking your business elsewhere.

Unfortunately, 2 online orders in a row with bad experiences. The first order which was a hat and a hoodie. The hat looked like it was worn already and was dirty, the hoodie wasn’t the same color to the picture on their website. The 2nd order was showing it was in stock, but then was canceled after three days saying they didn’t have stock so I checked the website which says it’s still in stock. Unfortunately, I paid with gift card and I don’t show the credit back on the gift card which looks like I will have to call to see what’s going on.The instore experience is great but I don’t think I will ever order anything on the web store again. The competitors will give you a better experience online.

We purchased an Otter flip over ice shack on 12/31/2025 from the Eau Claire store. We chose this one because the sales person said it had integrated lights. We asked if they could assemble it and he said they could. They didn't have any in stock but could ship from another store. Even though it was being shipped between stores it would cost $175. We purchased $550 worth of accessories that we left there to install. Total spent that day on just this was $2200.We received an email confirmation which showed it was setup to ship to our home so we had to call and get that straightened out. Once it arrived at the store, they called to notify us and learned it did not have integrated lights. We asked to have Otter lights installed and we would pay when we picked it up. They told us no, we'd have to buy them separately and install them ourselves. When we went to pick up the shack we looked for lights but we're told scheels didn't have any in stock and we'd have to order online. OK fine. So we drive around to get the ice shack only to be handed a bill for clam lights they installed and a$300 assembly fee. Not only were they the wrong lights but we were never told about an assembly fee - for that cost plus the shipping between stores, we would've just did it ourselves. We went in to speak to the store manager, who was quite frankly a jerk. We simply said if the fee wasn't waived we'd like to return it all and go somewhere else. He eventually agreed to refund the fee but said "I'm looking you in the eye and telling you we're never refunding this fee in future" and made us feel like WE did something wrong. There were so many mistakes made by scheels throughout this entire process and we never received any apologies. We've spent a lot of money here over the years but this one experience has us reconsidering shopping here in the future.

They sold me a fake Ugg coat! The first day i tried it on the string pop. I was asked to show them the tag on the inside which I then realized the coat itself is a fake. All official ugg products should scan and this coat didn’t. They also refused my refund.

If you choose to get the Scheels visa card be forewarned that this card is as predatory as the worst out there. For several years we diligently paid the monthly statement balance (usually $1500-$2300). A couple of partial payments and our yearly interest charged for 2025 is already over $400. As a bonus, last year (Oct 2024) they would not unblock the card even after we cleared the balance in time for us to visit my sister before her unexpected death from an aggressive cancer. Their justification? It is not "policy", even if the funds are there, for them to shorten the wait period to un-block the card.Anyway, we have re-evaluated our loyalty to Scheels and decided the company does not align with our ethics. We can shop elsewhere thankfully. Scheels Visa seems like a good idea until you realize they do not care one bit about you as a customer. That is a fact we found out the hard way.
