in general it's very good, BUT....

in general it's very good. Quality videos from many players.BUT, and that's a big but: only well known players are featured. As a pro musician for 32 years myself, I see absolutely no causal connection between how famous is someone, and how good they really are at what they do. Say, I'd want to be a great singer, would I take video lessons by the singer of Guns'n' Roses? I don't think so....fame happens mostly because one does the right thing at the right time in the right place. This is not necessarily an indication of true artistic worth, or being a good teacher. One might even be a very good musician, but a terrible or mediocre teacher. And the opposite is true, too, which is much more common than the former. In short, Truefire is really for beginners who go 'wow, so and so is teaching here! that's the best thing in the world!'.But if you are already a musician, you won't be dazzled so easily, and the better you are, the less so you'll be impressed. Such is my case.I have seen similar trends elsewhere, for example on Masterclass.com. Personally, I think JTC is the better one as it has many advanced courses, - because they are advanced, not because the player is famous -.But if you are a beginner, Truefire is not a bad place, just not the ultimate, because the content is choses according to 'fame', not intrinsic pedagogical worth. And many of the musicians featured there, they can 'teach' you their style. But that's not how best music is learned. You want to learn things you can use to create your own thing, not to learn someone's style.

I was rather disappointed

I signed up for an All Access annual subscription in January and paid $99 instead of $249, and I'm rather disappointed. Here's my impression in bullet points:- The courses for ear training and left-hand finger technique were full of errors, so they were rather sloppily prepared.- The individual guitarists' courses were rather trivial and laughable. To be fair, though, it might be useful for beginners who have mastered cowboy and barre chords and want to progress from there. But for me, YouTube is better and cheaper, and I'll give GP a try now.

Scam, Stay away

contacted Truefire for a cancellation of my subscription. They answered that I should cancel it on Apple subscription on my iphone. But I hadn’t any subscription there. I told them that. But no answer. I contacted them four times on mail but still no answer. This company is a big scam. Stay away. You are locked in and can not get away when you have started a subscription. Stay away!

I don't want to talk about their…

I don't want to talk about their courses as that experience depends on the level of the player who buys the course. I do want to talk about the Truefire site. There are so many courses on offer and each one only gives a glimpse of what the course is about and the level of player that it is aimed at. I was concerned that I would have to look through several courses before I found one at the right level for me - and in the process spend a fortune on courses that were not appropriate. I WAS WRONG!Truefire offer a 'satisfaction guaranteed' and swap a course within a 14 day trial. I used it, last night, for the first time. There was no discussion after I put in my 'claim' and the course was swapped out within one hour.

You get what you pay for.

You get what you pay for.. I come back to this website every other year. I think that's the best way to do it. Pay while you're in practice season and cancel your sub when you're in the off season. Simple as that.

I was impressed by the Blues beginner -but....

I was impressed by the Blues beginner course which I hoped to plod through at my own pace. I was later charged £108 for All Access - and when I cancelled this was denied a refund. Be very careful what you select - especially courses that are on offer

When one decides to move from beginner…

Amazing site tons of material, for the player who needs to move from the beginners stage. I personally started with Andy Guitar, amazing for beginners with good quality content, and moved to Truefire to take my playing to the next level

This is pretty much a scam site

This is pretty much a scam site. Offers a 14 day trial but then asks you to put card details in. Also upon creating an account it appears they over promise on the content. Avoid!

I write the reviews and I don't…

I read the reviews and I don't understand them. Tuefire has a HUGE amount of courses and lessons. I bought some and then I changed to yearly subscription. It is like the beach on a sunny day - you can swim in the sea :)They are communcative. It may be slow if you are not on their continent but they always reply. Very helpful. I have subscription on other websites and I bought many online courses but it is the best.
