Smoke detectors not loud enough and it won’t call fire fighters automatically like ADT does. Not worth it at all. They are quick to sell u expensive equipment but the service sucks. Equipment recurrently breaks down

I am extremely dissatisfied with Vivint’s service and lack of accountability, especially considering that this is one of the most expensive alarm and smart-home systems on the market.This is the second Vivint thermostat that has failed in my home. The first failure occurred approximately two years ago, occurred in mid-August of that year. While the earlier incident was less disruptive because I was traveling, this current failure has had a serious impact. Despite this being a repeat equipment failure, I was informed it would take five business days to receive a replacement. Vivint does not offer expedited shipping through FedEx or UPS, even in urgent situations. If I want a technician to replace the thermostat, Vivint requires a $100 service fee, even though the malfunction is due to their own equipment. Even if I am willing to pay for faster service, Vivint stated they cannot locate a technician for same-day or next-day service. The earliest appointment offered was Wednesday or Thursday. I live in Miami, Florida, and we are currently experiencing a major cold front, with temperatures expected to drop to 35–40 degrees. Because the thermostat is not functioning, I am unable to use my heating or air system, creating an unacceptable and potentially unsafe situation. Vivint’s proposed solution was a $42 monthly credit and a suggestion that I go to Home Depot to purchase a replacement thermostat. This solution was not viable. A standard thermostat does not work with my system because it is a smart thermostat setup. I purchased a smart thermostat myself, only to learn that installation requires a licensed electrician, making this an impractical and costly workaround.I have been a loyal Vivint customer for over eight years, which makes this experience especially disappointing. While I will say that Vivint’s customer service representatives are polite, professional, and genuinely kind, customers should not be misled by how smooth conversations may sound over the phone. The reality of the company’s policies, service limitations, and lack of accountability tells a very different story. For a company that charges premium prices, Vivint should be able to offer expedited shipping options such as FedEx or UPS and free technician service when their own equipment fails. The fact that neither is available is unacceptable. Based on my experience, I strongly advise others not to waste their money on a company that cannot support its own products or stand behind its equipment. I do not recommend Vivint.
