Firestone Complete Auto Care has a sharply divided customer base. About half of shoppers report experiencing significant problems including misdiagnosed repairs that required return visits, billing discrepancies where advertised coupons were not honored as promised, incomplete service orders (such as delivering only three of four ordered tires), and long wait times with parts not ordered before appointments concluded. Customers also mention issues with staff courtesy and what they perceive as unnecessary upselling of additional repairs. The other half of reviewers praise the location for fast, attentive service and express satisfaction with how technicians handled urgent repairs like tire punctures, noting top-notch treatment during their visits.

The stark contrast between one-star and five-star ratings with no middle ground suggests shoppers either have strongly positive experiences or feel they have been overcharged or misled. Common frustrations center on transparency around pricing, coupon terms, and the scope of work customers actually authorized.

Do yourself a favor and stay away from this Firestone location. They are a complete rip-off and clearly don't know what they're doing. I'd give zero stars if I could. To keep it brief, I've had two separate issues with my vehicle over the past two months. They claimed it was one thing, I paid for it, then had to bring it back. This happened three times total. I've spent over 5600 dollars trying to get my car fixed and it's still broken. We've been incredibly patient. We even had to rent a car for a week and pay for Uber rides to drop off my vehicle repeatedly. As of mid-March 2026, I still don't have my car. It's been sitting there for two weeks with no phone calls updating me on anything. All I want is a working vehicle. That shouldn't be too much to ask after what I've paid. I honestly don't trust them anymore. Go anywhere else. I'd hate for someone else to go through what I'm going through.

Ordered four tires and had to take time off work for the installation. The delivery driver only brought three tires, which made no sense since I needed all four. The level of incompetence at this shop is unlike anything I've encountered in my 21 years as a mechanic. The woman working the front counter came across as rude and dismissive, and frankly shouldn't be dealing with military personnel and veterans. This location is near a military base in Hawaii. If negative ratings were possible, this place would deserve far worse than one star.

My wife had a nail puncture in her tire and needed to get to work. When I called, the technician on the phone told us to come right in. They got her taken care of immediately so she could get to work without delay. Every time I've needed service, they treat me with top-notch attention.

Total rip-off artists. There's a coupon advertised on the website for a $39.99 full synthetic oil change. I used that coupon code to book an appointment at a specific location. That was literally the only reason I went there. When I got the bill at pickup, it was over $90. The cashier claimed the coupon was only for regular oil, but I showed him the coupon on my phone. He talked to management and came back saying fine print showed it was only at select locations. I asked to speak to the manager myself and they refused to honor it, offering to drop the price to $76 instead. Still nearly twice the advertised price. Terrible business practices. Go anywhere else.

Scheduled a 10:30 a.m. appointment for serpentine belt and tensioner replacement. I stayed and waited. The estimate was one to two hours. After two hours, the manager brought me back to show what the mechanic discovered: rear brakes, rack and pinion issues, and other problems. They hadn't ordered parts yet. I told the front counter I just wanted the belt and tensioner because the rack and pinion would be well over 5000 dollars. He kept pushing for the brakes too. I refused. The mechanic showed me the bent tensioner shaft, which shouldn't bend on its own. I also suspect they deliberately loosened my battery cable to make me buy new ones. They suggested new spark plugs, but I'd replaced mine a month before. I sat there for four hours. The belt rang up at 116.99 when it costs 44 dollars elsewhere. The tensioner was 257.99 when it's 132 dollars at another place. Total came to 725.16 dollars. I won't return. Yes, the work is good, but it's overpriced. Find somewhere else.

I scheduled a 10:30 appointment for a serpentine belt and tensioner replacement. I waited while they worked. They estimated one to two hours. After two hours, the manager walked me back to show me what the mechanic found: rear brakes needing work, rack and pinion issues, and more. They hadn't even ordered the parts yet. I told them I only wanted the belt and tensioner since the rack and pinion alone would cost well over 5000 dollars. The counter staff pushed hard for me to get the brakes done too, but I declined. The mechanic showed me the bent shaft on the tensioner, which shouldn't happen on its own. I suspect they may have loosened my battery cable to justify selling new ones. They also suggested new spark plugs even though I'd just replaced them a month prior. I was there for four hours for a simple belt swap. They charged me 116.99 for a belt that costs 44 dollars at another store and 257.99 for a tensioner that costs 132 dollars elsewhere. The total bill came to 725.16 dollars. I won't be going back to Firestone. They do solid work, but the pricing is outrageous.

I booked an appointment at 10 a.m. for five new tires and an oil change. I arrived right on time and was told it would take approximately two and a half hours, so I didn't stick around. By 12:30 p.m., nothing. By 1:30 p.m., still nothing. I called at 1:45 p.m. and was told they were still on it. Then at 2:07 p.m., my vehicle's monitoring app sent me an alert about low tire pressure. That means my car didn't get any attention until over four hours after my appointment time! They called at 3:45 p.m. saying it was done and pressured me to pick it up before 4:15 p.m. or come back the next day. I managed to get there by 4 p.m. When I expressed frustration that a job quoted at two and a half hours turned into nearly six hours, and that my vehicle sat untouched for the first four hours after my appointment, I got no real apology.

I scheduled an appointment for 10 a.m. to get five new tires and an oil change. I arrived on time and was told the work would take about two and a half hours, so I left the shop. When noon came and went, then 1:30 p.m., I called to check progress. They said they were still working. At 2:07 p.m., I got a notification from my vehicle's app indicating low tire pressure. That meant nobody had even touched my car until over four hours after my scheduled appointment! At 3:45 p.m., they called saying the vehicle was ready, and they pressured me about picking it up before closing at 4:15 p.m. or coming back the next day. I got there by 4 p.m. When I complained about a supposed two-and-a-half-hour job taking almost six hours, and that I knew my vehicle hadn't been touched for the first four hours, they didn't take accountability.

I took my car in for four new tires. When I got it back, one rim was completely different from the other three! I went back the next morning and they insisted they didn't make a mistake. They claimed it was impossible since another Nissan model used 17-inch wheels while mine has 18-inch. I asked to see the security footage and they told me they don't have cameras. The store manager wasn't helpful and refused to provide contact information for his supervisor. He just said I'd have to file a complaint online. All my rims are blacked out except for one silver rim. Very frustrating experience.

I filled out their online appointment form to schedule an oil change after receiving an email reminder. The system showed four available time slots for the next day. I submitted my request and got a pending status. Throughout the rest of the day, nothing. No confirmation ever came through. Firestone's customer service just keeps getting worse and worse.

For the past two years since moving back to Connecticut, I've brought my cars to Firestone and have always been satisfied. The guy at the front counter is very thorough, explains things well, and has given me practical suggestions that fit my budget and timeline. I came in recently for routine oil service, but I also had a window issue. They diagnosed and fixed it in just fifteen minutes. Definitely a place I'd recommend to others.

Jennifer R.Aug 19, 2025

I've been going to the Firestone location here in Connecticut for about two years now, and they consistently deliver excellent service. The front desk staff member has been fantastic about keeping everything organized, communicating clearly, and suggesting solutions that work with my schedule and budget. My last visit was for an oil change, but I also mentioned a window problem they had fixed in about fifteen minutes. The attention to detail and value here really stands out. I'd recommend them to anyone.

I've been loyal to Firestone for years. When my Nissan started making a strange knocking noise, I made an appointment at my usual location. They had staffing issues and moved me to the next day. On the way to my rescheduled appointment, my check engine light came on, so I mentioned both issues. They said they couldn't help because their diagnostic equipment for engine lights wasn't working. I called another location and got a same-day appointment. I explained the knocking sound and the engine light. They brought my car back and told me I needed a catalytic converter part for over $1600. I approved it, trusting Firestone. After pickup, the noise was still there. When I brought it back, instead of being treated like a valued customer, I was treated poorly. I know what I heard.

I bought my Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT brand new in 2016. The water pump failed in October 2022 just down the road from Firestone, so I got a replacement pump there. In May 2025, the pump failed again. When I brought it back, they confirmed the issue but said the warranty only covers one year. I've been driving around 50 miles daily on average. The original pump lasted about six and a half years. The replacement pump they installed, which turned out to be a NAPA part costing over 230 dollars back in 2022, lasted just over two years. An OEM pump would have been 117 dollars as of today. They wanted over 600 dollars for a new pump and service, with no acknowledgment of the prematurely failed part. This location's management showed no responsibility or willingness to make things right. I'm very disappointed and will be finding a different repair shop.

Staff here is consistently pleasant and courteous. There was a time when the waiting room wasn't ideal, but they've since remodeled and now the whole interior is fantastic. The team really put in extra effort to make sure the experience was as smooth as possible.
