Baskin Robbins receives predominantly negative feedback, with 15 shoppers rating the chain 1.5 out of 5. The most serious concerns center on food safety and hygiene practices, including reports of potential contamination in frozen treats, unsanitary food handling by staff, and cases of suspected foodborne illness. Additional complaints highlight poor customer service, including inattentive staff, employees neglecting customers while on personal calls, and dismissive attitudes at certain locations. Some reviewers also note potentially deceptive business practices such as hiding smaller size options from customers.

The small number of positive reviews praise the quality of the ice cream itself and friendly, helpful staff when service standards are met. One shopper highlighted appealing in-store flavor displays and quality churros. However, these isolated positive experiences are significantly outweighed by the frequency and severity of hygiene, health, and service-related complaints that dominate the feedback.

Great visit! The staff was really helpful and friendly, and the way the store displayed all the flavors when you walked in was really appealing.

Really poor hygiene standards here. The staff member serving the ice cream displayed absolutely no understanding of basic sanitation practices, using the same hand for personal hygiene and then immediately handling food.

Nicole D.Aug 31, 2025

The ice cream and churros were genuinely good, but we're currently dealing with the aftermath of food poisoning from the cookie dough. The texture was way too liquid and not dough-like at all, and I strongly suspect they used raw eggs in it. Both of us have been spending the entire day in the bathroom with severe stomach pain. If you're thinking about ordering the cookie dough, seriously don't. It's not worth the risk.

My wife and I had to turn around and leave without buying anything, that's how bad it was. We showed up at the Baskin-Robbins location at the combined store in Pensacola early in the morning on a recent visit. One employee was managing the Baskin-Robbins section, but she spent the entire time we were there on a phone call. While we were trying to look over the ice cream options, she totally ignored us. After waiting a few minutes, my wife finally asked her if she was going to get off the phone or help us out. The woman was still on the call but at least looked our way, except she had no clue what any of the ice cream flavors actually were. The labels on the containers were all messed up and she couldn't identify a single one. She got the guy working the Dunkin side to come over and help, and he immediately told us that none of the labels were correct. That's just plain carelessness. By the time we were ready to order, she was back on her phone again, completely zoned out and not paying attention to us. We'd had enough at that point and walked right out. Nothing got purchased that day.

To the Baskin-Robbins management, I want to bring something to your attention. At your location on Uxbridge Road, I noticed that the kids size cups aren't displayed or offered to customers upfront, they're basically hidden. I'm not sure if this is a chain-wide thing or just at this specific location, but it seems intentionally misleading to push people toward buying the larger size when a single scoop in a kids cup might be exactly what they need. This feels deceptive because only people who already know about the kids option will ask for it, and customers behind them get surprised when they find out it exists. Also, there's no visible price breakdown showing how much you charge per scoop depending on the cup size, which makes it impossible to make a smart purchase decision. I think this deserves a closer look and I'd hope you'd make your pricing and product options more transparent going forward.

I'm normally a huge Baskin-Robbins fan and make it a point to visit whenever I travel internationally with my family. But my time at locations in Saudi Arabia was really disappointing. The staff was incredibly rude and dismissive at both the Makkah and Madinah locations. The actual ice cream quality was still good like always, but seriously, they need to invest in training their employees on how to treat customers with respect and professionalism.

It's been quite a while since I've been to one of these, and I have to say I'm pretty shocked at how much things have slipped in both customer service and overall professionalism. The actual ice cream products might have changed some, but the real issue is how much less professional the staff has become, and that really ruins the whole visit. When I came in with my kids, it took almost 10 minutes just to get our order, and when it finally showed up, it was completely wrong. I had to push back just to get them to fix it. This kind of thing would have been totally unacceptable back in the day.

What a terrible visit to the Rockingham location. I don't know if this place is struggling or if they just underestimate their customers. For starters, their cones are disgusting. They used to make their own waffle cones but now they're as bad as their regular cones, completely dry and bland. Whether it's waffle or plain, all their cones are mass produced garbage that tastes like nothing and falls apart. They're basically the same quality as the cheapest grocery store brand, with zero difference in taste or texture. Both options taste like eating cardboard. I asked for rum and raisin ice cream and the server looked at me like I'd asked for something outrageous. He said they don't carry it. How does an ice cream shop not have rum and raisin? This is the last place I'm ever coming back to. I can buy a whole liter of decent rum and raisin from the grocery store for six dollars and eat it at home, versus spending seven-fifty for one tiny scoop on a piece of cardboard. Never again for me.

Absolutely disappointing experience. First off, they gave me whole Oreos when I specifically asked for crushed ones. Second, they were completely out of chocolate sauce, which is crazy since it's obviously one of the most requested options. When I asked again about the crushed Oreos, they just threw an entire extra Oreo on top instead of fixing it. Then I noticed I was charged way more than the advertised price. On top of that, when I asked if they could at least swap it out or fix the crushed Oreo situation, they flat out told me no. The ice cream itself had massive chunks of frozen ice throughout. Honestly, I'm shocked they're even in the business of selling ice cream. This was my last visit there.

Your company needs to update the payment policy to include debit cards. There are plenty of customers dealing with serious health conditions who rely on debit and shouldn't be excluded from shopping with you.

I ordered a milkshake and when the girl handed it to me, it was basically just milk. I asked if she could make it thicker and she made another one, but it was still basically milk. She was a young teenager, so I'm guessing she was just doing what she was taught. I hadn't ordered their milkshakes before, but it seems like maybe they need to be putting more ice cream in them or they need to figure out a better method for making them.

Sophia P.May 20, 2023

This brand is just terrible. The ice cream flavors are completely bland and way too low quality for what they're charging. I've had many disappointing visits. The vanilla is probably the worst offender, it's so incredibly dull and tasteless when it should be rich and creamy instead. These experiences were all from locations in India and honestly the whole thing is a letdown for the price.

Watch out if you order fresh pack quarts because you're getting shortchanged on the amount. I ordered 2 quarts that should have weighed around 54 ounces total but only received 30 ounces. When I reached out to the local manager about this issue, they never called me back. I've also tried contacting the corporate customer service team multiple times, but all I get are empty promises that the manager will reach out within 24 to 48 hours. That was three weeks ago and still nothing. This whole situation has been frustrating and unhelpful.

Worst drive-thru experience imaginable. The Longmont spot has been going downhill for the past year. There are only young staff members working, and they never follow basic instructions like putting lids on cups before handing you a bunch of them. But here's the real problem: you ask for a flavor that's on the menu and they don't have it, so you pick another one and nope, they don't have that either. Meanwhile they've got flavors available that aren't even listed. And when the menu board is supposed to be lit up after sunset, it's just dark. Last week I asked a teenager to turn it on so I could see what they actually had. He said he couldn't and then just ignored me until I rolled up to the window. I asked again if there was any way to see a list of flavors. His response? A shrug and 'nope, sorry.' No accountability, no solutions, nothing. That's when I told him they just lost a loyal customer, didn't buy anything, and when I asked for a complaint form he refused. I'm not spending my money at places charging premium prices while their young staff acts disrespectful and clueless.

I'd give this zero stars if the system allowed it. I ordered a custom ice cream cake for my son's birthday through the website and it was supposed to be ready for pickup three days later at the Lake Worth location. I got a confirmation email and my card was charged almost fifty dollars. When I showed up on the pickup day, they hadn't even started making it. Not a single apology or discount offered, they just told me to pick something out from the display case instead. The selection was tiny. I ended up leaving with a cake I didn't want in a color I hated, and I wasted 45 minutes driving there and back. I'm seriously upset about this and I've already disputed the charge with my credit card company. Be very careful if you're planning to order anything from their website.
