Terrible device, terrible support, terrible app design. The app doesn't work right with the new Nest Rest. This thing disconnects from the app whenever you unplug it, and reconnecting is a nightmare that takes about half an hour of resetting it while standing right next to your router. Just grabbed the Hatch Restore 3 last week and I've been really happy with it so far. I'm based in the UK and it works great with a US to UK converter. The design is super clean and modern looking, and the sunrise function is excellent. That said, the $6 a month subscription fee feels like a lot to ask for accessing all the features, especially at this price point. If you dig through the app though, you can find some nice sound options without paying. I'm using the meditation tracks at bedtime, and there's a decent selection. When you play sessions from the device itself, the light gets pretty bright and the volume is loud at first. You can adjust the sound with the knob on top, but if you want to dim the light you have to go into the app, which kind of defeats the purpose of using it as a bedside alarm when you want your phone in another room. There's a little bit of static in the speaker when playing tracks, though you stop noticing it after a while. The night sounds have good variety and you can tweak both volume and brightness. Morning alarms are fantastic, waking up to a gradual light is so much better than a loud alarm.
