Music & Arts Savings Hacks
If you purchase the same items regularly, check whether Music & Arts offers Autoship or subscription discounts that can be combined with promo codes for additional savings on instruments and accessories.
Music & Arts typically runs promotions around back-to-school season and major holidays. Bookmark RetailCoupons.com and check frequently before making large instrument purchases to catch the best discounts.
Look for package deals on entry-level instruments that may include case, stand, or care supplies. These bundles sometimes offer better overall value than buying components separately, even without a coupon applied.
Read customer reviews of instruments on the Music & Arts website to ensure you are purchasing quality products. A discount is only valuable if the item meets your needs and performance expectations.
Music & Arts Shipping Policy
Music & Arts typically processes orders within one to two business days. Shipping times and costs depend on your location and the size of your order, so review available shipping options at checkout. Larger instruments may qualify for special handling or expedited shipping.
Music & Arts Returns & Refund Policy
Most purchases from Music & Arts can be returned within a standard window, though specific policies may vary by product category. Musical instruments are sometimes subject to different return terms than electronics, so check the store's full return policy before completing your purchase. Contact customer service with questions about whether your particular item is returnable.

Music & Arts Reviews
Music & Arts receives overwhelmingly negative feedback from shoppers, with 25 reviews averaging 1.2 out of 5. The most serious complaints involve unauthorized charges and billing issues, with customers reporting multiple duplicate charges, ongoing billing after attempting to cancel rentals, and unresolved refund requests. Customers describe the rent-to-own instrument program as problematic, stating the company ignores cancellation requests, continues billing indefinitely despite contract terms, and provides unresponsive customer service when disputes arise. Additional complaints include undelivered or damaged orders, unopened boxes with missing parts, non-responsive customer support, and deceptive marketing practices such as school-impersonating promotional flyers.
While a small minority of reviews are positive, the dominant pattern across negative feedback centers on customer service failures and billing disputes rather than product quality. Shoppers report difficulty reaching support staff, having calls and emails ignored, and being unable to resolve issues through standard channels. Several customers indicate they had to take action outside normal processes, such as freezing credit cards, to stop unwanted charges. The phrase "scam" appears repeatedly in reviews, reflecting customer perception that the company's practices are deliberately deceptive rather than merely inefficient.
Could I give negative stars? We tried to use this company for lessons in August but after paying for 4 lessons, the local store had no record of them. I was able to get refunded at least. Fast forward 8 months and on Tuesday I got charged $184 four separate times for lessons I never asked for or authorized. Customer service refused to help and said billing wasn't their department. They wouldn't connect me with anyone who could help and told me to call the store. I called and left a voicemail for the manager but never heard back. Then today they charged me $920 for online lessons I didn't order or authorize. I called the store again and they told me several people had the same problem this week and it might not be fixed until next Friday, which is 8 days away. This is completely unacceptable. I'm disputing everything through my bank and cancelled my card to stop more charges.
I'd give them zero stars if I could. This is basically a scam. They came to my daughter's school three years ago claiming to sell rent-to-own instruments that you'd pay off in two years. Instead they just keep billing forever, ignore their own contracts, charge you twice sometimes, and act clueless about whether you're renting or buying. I've paid $2400 for an $812 used instrument. I think the school band teacher must be getting kickbacks to push such a dishonest business, and I plan to tell the school exactly what I think. That used flute was supposed to be $812 total and I've been charged almost $2400. You can buy the same Yamaha beginner model brand new at Walmart for $820. It's a total ripoff. Shop anywhere else. Their parent company is Guitar Center if that tells you anything. They were only supposed to charge me $49 monthly and hit me with $86 for almost a year. Now they want me to unlock my card so they can charge $250 a month, which they did once by accident and then tried to deny it.
I'd really caution anyone thinking about using this company. My whole experience was unacceptable from beginning to end. My order didn't show up when they said it would. When it finally arrived, the box was already open and missing a part. I emailed customer service and heard nothing. Had to call twice to get someone to even look at it, and even then they didn't do what they promised during the call. On top of that, they charged my credit card for something I never ordered or approved. That alone killed any trust I had in them. I returned everything and shipped it back myself in early January but still haven't gotten my full refund even after five business days. This was honestly one of the worst experiences I've ever had buying anything. I won't be coming back.
This company is running a scam. Customer service will just ignore you when you ask to return your rental so you're stuck paying them forever. I had to freeze my card to make them stop.
They send out flyers pretending to be official school communications. Their prices are crazy expensive and they charge you for every little thing with all these extra fees.
Stay far away from this place. Their customer service is basically nonexistent. They take your money but don't actually send what you paid for. It's outright fraudulent.
Really good pricing and the shipment came fast. There was a small mix-up with the shipping notice but the customer service rep actually got back to me quickly and sorted it all out.
This is basically a predatory company. Customer service tells you one thing and the local store tells you something different. Because of how unprofessional this place is, I lost about $800 renting my kid's bass. Don't rent from them if you can help it. Some of the customer support staff are rude, though not all of them.
I might be reading too much into this but based on what went down at this location, I wouldn't rent here. I called ahead to ask if they had a viola in stock and the guy was really helpful. I rushed over with my daughter after her soccer practice hoping to make it before they closed at 8. We got there 10-15 minutes early. I saw two staff members through the window, one at the register and one on the floor. The woman on the floor looked right at us, threw her hands up, and seemed to say something pretty rude. Her body language screamed that we should just leave. Could be I'm wrong about what I saw, or maybe she was lip-syncing to some hard rap? Either way it felt really hostile and awkward. I turned around and didn't go in. Look, I get that it's annoying when customers show up close to closing, but that doesn't justify treating people that way.
I ordered a saxophone stand on 8/2 and the website said it was in stock. I got an order confirmation but nothing since then. Total silence. I can't reach customer support on the phone and I emailed them too. I'm hoping they'll eventually respond.
I bought a mute online and it still hasn't shown up after 2 weeks, even though the website said it was in stock and would ship in 3-5 business days. I called customer service and was put on hold for an hour. I sent an email and got nothing back. These people are a disaster. Don't buy from them.
Okay, this is about the website because the actual store location was really helpful. The website customer service for this company is absolutely terrible. I sent an email and called multiple times with no response. No one would pick up the phone. They said to leave my number and I'd be added to the queue. They called back a week later. Plus they never even sent a confirmation that the instrument got shipped to the store. Good thing I called the store directly or I'd still be wondering where it was. I wanted to leave this review on their website but there's nowhere to put feedback except on individual product pages, so that'll go there.
Renting a clarinet through this company was fine, but trying to end the rental has been a nightmare. You can't cancel online from your account, so you have to mail a written request and then hold on the phone for what feels like forever just to get a return authorization. The whole process seems like it's from the 1990s and designed to make you give up. Now that the school year's done and we just want to stop paying, they're making it ridiculously difficult. I'm not renting from them again and I'd tell other parents to be careful and keep everything in writing if they do.
This is such an awful company. I have my account set up with my bank details, and even after NUMEROUS conversations with customer service, they keep mailing me letters about an outstanding balance and threatening to send it to collections. These people clearly don't know what they're doing. They shouldn't even be in business.
I had a really bad experience at this store. Last October I went in wanting to rent instruments for 4 months with the option to rent again in spring. But the salesman totally misrepresented the deal. He said if I rented for 10 months I'd get to keep the instrument free during the summer. I believed him and signed up. I paid everything up front in the store, thinking it was settled. Then I started seeing random $43.46 charges on my card. When I got back, I called to ask what was going on. The manager told me I was supposed to renew by June 1st to get that free summer rental, which nobody had ever mentioned. Instead of fixing the problem, I was just told to bring the instrument back immediately, so I did that same night. But then nobody followed up at all. After 10 days of silence I called back and got a rep named Jorge who said he couldn't handle the refund and would send it up to his supervisor. He gave me a request number and said someone would get back to me.
