Gillette Reviews
Gillette receives highly polarized reviews on RetailCoupons.com, rated 2.2 out of 5 by 21 shoppers. Satisfied customers praise specific product lines like the Mach3 for cutting thick hair effectively in a single pass, and appreciate the brand's shift toward recyclable packaging. However, the majority of shoppers report serious quality and service issues. Common complaints include product deterioration (blades becoming dull after only two shaves), packaging delivery failures, noticeable performance decline since around 2017, inconsistent cutting ability, and unresponsive customer service when issues arise.
Price increases have compounded customer frustration, with some shoppers reporting 75 percent jumps in replacement blade costs. Many long-time Gillette loyalists have abandoned the brand in search of cheaper alternatives that deliver comparable results. The disconnect between Gillette's advertising claims of superior smoothness and safety and actual user experience appears to be a central frustration among dissatisfied reviewers.
Used Fusion blades forever without issues. Recently purchased Proglide Plus Razor Cartridge Refills and they're completely dull after just two shaves. For how much these cost, that's unacceptable. Their so-called customer service just gives you the runaround. I'm shopping around for a different brand.
Finding good razors has always been tough for me, and I used to count on Gillette. But since around 2017, both their electric and regular blade razors have become complete rubbish. They keep advertising the smoothest and safest shave, yet no matter which product I try, I always end up with hair that wasn't cut. On top of that, what little hair does get cut comes out stiff and sore.
Just want to say Gillette Mach3 with three blades is fantastic. If you have really coarse thick hair, these will cut through it in a single pass. Plus I really appreciate that the packaging is made from recyclable cardboard and pulp instead of plastic. Great for being environmentally conscious.
I'm talking about the newer GilletteLabs replacement blades with the green and black packaging. They've gotten way more expensive recently, jumping almost seventy five percent. But honestly, thanks for pricing yourselves out, because it pushed me to find a much cheaper alternative that works just as well. I was loyal to Gillette for over thirty years, and while we had a good relationship, it's time to move on.
The customer support here was truly exceptional, especially considering how hectic things were near the holidays. Big thanks to Callum for going out of his way to take care of my issue.
The quality of these razors is absolutely terrible. Please stay away, no matter what. Do not buy.
Made a purchase on their website and the system automatically canceled it right away. Paid through an online payment service and the money got deducted from my account, showing as authorized. The company is supposed to release the authorization but won't. Sent multiple emails with zero response. Still waiting after fourteen days.
Put in an order on their website and it got canceled automatically right away. Paid through an online payment service, and they pulled the funds from my account. The status shows it's only authorized, and the company needs to release that hold but hasn't. I emailed them about it with no response. It's been two weeks now.
Ordered Gillette Labs from an online retailer based on their claim that blades last thirty days. Total nonsense. I shave three times weekly since retiring, and these blades fall apart after four uses. Then they start tearing up your skin. I've emailed Gillette back and forth about this, and they're saying it's not their problem and that I need to contact the retailer instead.
I've been a longtime Gillette customer, but I'm really disappointed with what's happened to the quality. The blades just aren't as good as they used to be, and they don't work the way they should anymore. Their whole "the best a man can get" tagline feels like a joke at this point. Time to throw them out and look elsewhere.
These razors don't compare to BIC, and definitely not to Wilkinson. The box says these twenty razors should give eighty shaves, but I couldn't even get one decent shave out of them. I've got fair skin and minimal facial hair. On the plus side I didn't cut myself because they were too dull to even do that. Just a waste of money.
Got a Pro Glide Power razor and used it once. After resting it on my sink, I saw this orange stain appearing from the lubrication strip. The blade itself felt sticky like it had actually melted. When I contacted support, they blamed me for leaving it wet and suggested I buy a new blade after just one use. They threw me a fifteen dollar voucher which isn't even enough for a replacement blade. I'm still concerned about what's in that strip and why Gillette won't take this seriously.
