What Shoppers Say About Cottonique
Cottonique has an extremely polarized customer base, rated 1.9 out of 5 by 16 shoppers. A small group of highly satisfied customers, particularly those with sensitive skin, praise the brand as uniquely effective for their needs and describe the clothing as genuinely hypoallergenic. However, the majority of reviewers report serious product and policy issues: customers consistently complain about a strong burnt rubber or chemical smell in items, especially in waistbands and drawstrings that contain rubber material; poor fit quality; limited size availability; and high prices. Additionally, many shoppers express frustration with restrictive return policies that only accept unopened items, making it nearly impossible to assess product quality before being locked into a purchase.
The most damaging complaints involve customers with fragrance and chemical sensitivities receiving fragranced products despite clear order notes, which directly contradicts the brand's core positioning. Return logistics are also problematic, with international and domestic returns taking weeks to process even when items are unopened. Multiple reviewers emphasize that the strong chemical odor makes some items unsuitable for use, effectively making returns impossible for those with the sensitivities the brand claims to serve. Prospective buyers should be aware that counterfeit versions appear to be sold through third-party marketplaces like Amazon.

Sorted by: Most recentThe bras don't fit well at all, don't waste your cash. Their return policy is ridiculous because you can only return unopened items. Once you crack open the package to look at them, try them on, or check the quality, you're stuck with them. And if you're in the UK you can't return anything at all. This is a scam.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. DO NOT ORDER. ALL THEIR ITEMS AND PACKAGES SMELL LIKE BURNT TIRE RUBBER. THE MEN'S SWEATPANTS AND WOMEN'S WHITE COTTON LEGGINGS HAVE RUBBER TIRE MATERIAL IN THE WAISTBANDS AND DRAWSTRINGS. I HAD TO RIP THEM OUT TO FIND THE RUBBER. I BOUGHT 10 PAIRS OF LEGGINGS AND IT WAS A NIGHTMARE JOB. EVEN BLEACH CAN'T GET RID OF THAT HORRIBLE SMELL.
There are some nice items here but they don't have much selection and most of the time my size is sold out. Plus everything costs a lot.
Cottonique feels like getting a warm comforting hug when you have irritated and sensitive skin. Regular clothes cause itching and burning all day for me. With my major skin sensitivities, this brand is exactly what I need and nothing else comes close. Don't get stuff from amazon because it's not the real deal and that's probably why there are so many bad reviews. Order straight from their actual website instead. They have different sites for Canada, the UK, and the US which makes ordering and returning easier. Their bras are seriously the best if your skin gets irritated. I'd definitely recommend their cotton slip, the long sleeve leggings, and their long sleeve top. The fit is perfect for me and they're so comfy I wear them constantly. I'm 5'6", 120 pounds and they fit long and lean, running true to size. I wear a small/6 consistently. These work great as a base layer under other clothes to protect my skin from irritation. They cost more but they're totally worth the money. If you find it on amazon for way less, it's definitely a knockoff.
The elastic free boxers are actually decent but returning from abroad takes forever and the refund takes just as long. Even when I sent an unopened item back from the midwest, the post office had it sitting for over a week and after they finally got it, another six days passed before my money showed up. Better off shopping somewhere else.
They say they focus on customers with fragrance sensitivity and chemical sensitivities but keep sending us items that are fragranced even though we mark our orders clearly. I've wasted over $170 with them now. It was even worse last year. The packages make us sick so we can't even return them. They promised they'd fix their warehouse issues after last year but nothing changed. Really disappointed and out a lot of money.
Got three pairs of underwear that fit way too small. The size 4s looked like they were made for a little kid. Since the whole reason to shop here is for 100% cotton, these tiny items will probably just get even smaller when washed. Their return and exchange process is really annoying and makes you pay to send stuff back. Plus they give you only 15 days from when it arrives to email them about returns. That's a lot of hassle for $20 underwear. Won't be ordering again.
Really poor customer service experience. I've ordered before and usually like what I get but this last time was bad. I placed an order and after two weeks nothing showed up. When I contacted them, they said items were out of stock but never told me that beforehand or sent any notification. Took two months to finally arrive with zero updates. I was traveling when it got there and after trying one item, I found it had a serious defect. They refused to do anything about it because I was just a couple days past their 30 day window. Even though they took 3 months to ship it. I'm looking elsewhere for my shopping now because this company has terrible communication and rude staff. Honestly feels a bit shady. It's sad because their stuff is usually decent quality.
I bought several pieces of clothing and everything felt cheap and was poorly made. Not coming back to this brand. The funnel neck sweater is really oversized but the arms don't reach my wrists at all, and I'm only 5'4" and weigh 110 pounds. If it doesn't fit right on someone my size, the issue is definitely with how they designed it. The underwear has basic thin elastic that falls apart quickly. The cropped leggings have decent stitching and fabric but the waistband is way too tight and digs into your stomach. You pay to return stuff and they only give store credit anyway. Save yourself the trouble and your money.
