This store is awful. Their inventory is mostly budget quality items. Trying to return something you bought online is a nightmare. I've attempted returns twice and both times their system couldn't find the order using the receipt emailed to me. First time the manager had to bypass the system entirely and process a manual refund using the receipt information. The second return was even worse. I wanted to exchange discounted pants for a different size. Their system only does refunds, not exchanges, so replacements are new transactions at full price. The pants were originally $34.99 but I bought them on sale for $20.99. The refund amount was $14.99 and the replacement charged full price. Basically I lost $6 on the return and the final cost more than doubled. Never shopping here again, I don't trust them at all.

Academy deserves the lowest rating possible. They clearly don't care about their customers. They constantly give wrong info about when things will arrive and whether items are in stock. Their corporate office is useless, just apologizing without actually solving anything. I cancelled my orders and destroyed their credit card. Don't fall for their in-store or online pressure to get their card no matter what. Maybe Amazon will eventually replace them.

I'm really upset about what my family went through at the McKinney location on September 21st around late morning. My elderly father-in-law, a cancer patient and veteran, brought my 10-year-old daughter shopping when they had a terrible interaction with a cashier. The employee kept pushing the credit card signup even after being told no. When he was declined again, the cashier got agitated and even warned my father-in-law he was 'lucky' to get decent treatment. Then things escalated. The employee called him a vulgar name, made insulting comments about his age, threw items at him, and told him to leave the register. My daughter was frightened and upset by this behavior.
