This is a clever scam. Citizen Watch has no actual customer service department, just a repair department handling everything. I bought a promaster on February 13th and it arrived on February 17th. The main selling points were impact and shatter resistance plus a 30-day money-back guarantee. Within three days it fell off a counter and the crystal broke. They said I had to send it in for assessment and pay shipping so they could figure out the drop height and speed to determine warranty coverage. They repaired it, replaced the crystal, and sent it back April 7th. Here's the con: they hold your watch longer than 30 days so you can't get a refund, and opening the box voids the warranty anyway, plus it's now been repaired so that excuse applies too. In 72 years of life and 50 years running a business, I've never seen a more dishonest operation. Coming from a major Japanese company makes it worse. This is the absolute worst and they prey on seniors with false promises about a $450 watch.

I called first and was told they should be able to handle it since the buttons are no longer available but the watch is in nearly mint condition from careful use. They ultimately refused and shipped it to an old address, even though I updated my information online and had mail forwarding set up. Why would anyone buy vintage watches if nobody can service them?
