I was genuinely surprised by how they handled it, especially seeing the low ratings elsewhere.
Grabbed this expensive piece of hardware expecting to have a blast with it. Not happening. There's basically nothing to get you started, just one track that you can't really play around with interactively. I thought I could jump into some sample projects but those need the full Suite which costs another five hundred on top. Meanwhile apps like Remixlive give you tons of fun stuff free, and here I am after dropping two grand just trying to figure out how to make something playable for even half a minute. Super disappointed.

I used to be all about FL Studio but switched to Live about a year ago. Picked up a Push 3 and Move controllers and unfortunately both had issues right out of the box. The Push had this weird bubble on the scale button and the Move had a stuck pad. Ableton's support team stepped up though and gave me honestly some of the best customer service I've ever gotten. They were super responsive and genuinely helpful. Ended up getting replacements because of some printing errors on buttons too, and everything's sorted now. Major props to their support team for taking care of it.
I picked up Standard 12 for my daughter who needed it for her college classes. Turns out she actually needs the full Suite version to bring work home from school. The company won't apply any student discount to upgrades. They're completely inflexible and don't really seem interested in supporting students who use their software.

This software is really not good. Everything feels overcomplicated and nothing works intuitively. The design is awful, lots of plugins won't load presets properly, and I can't even open MIDI projects. This feels like it's made for beginners who aren't serious about actual music production.
Live Standard is hands down the best DAW I've tested and it's not even close. You can tell it was designed by people who actually understand sound, not just programmers. The interface looks great and the design choices are really smart. That said, I wish they'd add a couple more things. First, there's no built-in sample editor, which seems like it should be easy to add. I'd love to do basic editing without opening another program. Second, no track-based MIDI program control would be helpful. If that's a push to get people to buy MAX, that feels kind of wrong. I had to get creative with MIDI channel 119 to work around it, but it's just frustrating when a simple fix would take minimal code.
Need some updates in my opinion. It's not the most convenient software to work with. FL Studio feels way smoother and more user-friendly to me personally. Hopefully Ableton will give their interface and user experience some love in a future release.

Purchased Suite a while back and their customer service is pretty poor, along with how they treat their customers. Their actions have made me walk away and so have my bandmates. They're charging way too much for what you're getting. Every time there's an update it brings months of crashes and headaches. As someone who ran a big online broadcast operation in Europe, I'd tell musicians to steer clear of this overpriced product.
