Boston Market Reviews
Boston Market is rated 1.4 out of 5 by 20 shoppers, with the vast majority of reviews expressing serious dissatisfaction. Reviewers consistently report problems across both frozen grocery products and restaurant locations: frozen meals lack advertised ingredients (such as shredded mozzarella), feature mushy or inadequate breading, and arrive cold with tiny portions; fresh restaurant meals appear dried out or poorly cooked; and customer service issues include unresolved refund requests for closed locations and billing errors at the register. A small number of shoppers have had acceptable experiences, but negative reviews far outweigh positive feedback.
Recurring complaints center on food quality, portion sizes, and preparation consistency across multiple Boston Market locations. Shoppers report that dishes taste bland, lack proper seasoning, or appear to have been held under heat lamps for extended periods. Refund and payment disputes with the company have left some customers unresolved despite providing documentation. The consensus among reviewers is that Boston Market's quality has declined significantly, with many stating they will not purchase from the chain again.
Bought one of their frozen chicken parmesan dinners from the grocery store and was really disappointed. The box shows shredded mozzarella on top but there isn't any. When I looked at the ingredients, it just has some imitation mozzarella mixed into the sauce. That was the last time I'm buying their products.
The frozen chicken fried steak meal was disgusting. The steak was paper thin and the breading was mushy and not crispy at all because the gravy was already on it. Most of what came with it was just mashed potatoes. I'm not spending my money on these frozen meals again.
I placed an online order on the 3rd of November for a local Boston Market but didn't realize the store was closed. I paid online and went to pick up my food but the location was shut down. I haven't been able to get anyone to refund me. I used my Cash App card and they still won't give the money back even though I provided receipts and pictures. I even called Cash App and sent them proof that the store was closed but they denied my dispute anyway. I really need help getting my money back.
When I opened my order, I got two tiny portions of meatloaf and it was cold. The sides, which were mashed potatoes and creamed spinach, were awful. This was from the location on North Ave.
The chicken at the Miami Lake location has no taste to it. The sweet potato wasn't cooked properly and overall the quality just isn't what it used to be.
Left very disappointed with my visit. The food looked dried out like it'd been sitting there for hours. I came in for chicken with a reward that was supposed to cover free mashed potatoes, but their app wasn't working right. The employee said he'd help me out but then charged me for a large container of mashed potatoes that I didn't ask for and forgot the gravy. When I asked what he meant by hooking me up, he just gave me my senior discount which I get anyway. The service has really gone downhill. Another couple came in right after me and decided to leave once they saw the food. Everything looked like it needed to be remade.
I've tried eating there twice and both times I've been let down. The food in the serving line always looks ancient and dried out. It doesn't taste good either. Honestly, you'd get better quality food at a convenience store down the street.
This place is horrible, don't waste your time. I showed up at 6:27 pm and saw a sign saying the lobby was closed with only drive-thru available. I'm in a big rig so that doesn't work for me. I tried ordering online for curbside but they had shut down all online orders. I walked to the window and saw an employee inside who literally ran to the back of the store to hide when he saw me coming. I called four different times and nobody picked up. I've spent a lot of money here over the years and this is unacceptable. That employee and this situation needs to be fixed immediately.
The Boston Market location I use for delivery in the Miami area is terrible. I ordered food and didn't get everything that was supposed to come with it, including my drinks. The chicken was cooked way too long and was basically inedible. It's sad when you work hard to earn your money and then spend it on food you can't even eat. I could tell the chicken was overcooked just looking at the container before I opened it, so they definitely knew. I will never order from there again. I'd give zero stars if I could.
Had an awful experience with curbside pickup. I ordered online and showed up 20 minutes later but nobody helped me. I walked up to find several employees locking up the store. They told me they were closing early because they were short-staffed. There were 4 or 5 people working but apparently that wasn't enough. This was terrible and I'm still waiting for my refund. In my opinion, that location needs to close down.
I wish I could give zero stars for this. My company is a small women-owned business and Boston Market hired one of our contractors through us. We paid her salary while she worked with them for months. When they decided to bring her on as a full-time employee, they completely stopped paying our invoices. We're out over $35,000 and the company won't respond to any of our calls, emails, or even letters from our lawyer. It's unbelievable that a corporation this size thinks it's okay to refuse payment after getting the work done. They've completely ignored every attempt we've made to contact them.
Ordered food online on Sunday and paid upfront. When I got there to pick it up, the store was already closed. Nobody left a note or anything, the place was just empty.
Boston Market catering completely ruined my wedding day. One hour before my Christmas wedding, I got a call saying my credit card was declined even though I had already paid for everything with gift cards. We didn't owe them anything. To make sure my guests had food, I had to pay with another card. Then I found out they had also cancelled one of my orders that was already paid for, so a lot of what we ordered wasn't available. The local shop said I'd get a refund but a month later I'm still out over a thousand dollars and now I'm dealing with credit card disputes and probably small claims court. Stay away from their catering.
Don't waste your money here. I tried placing an order online on 12/11/2021 at a location in Dallas, and they charged me even though the restaurant was closed that day. I've tried reaching out to customer service multiple times through phone, email, and social media but nobody responds. This company just takes your money without delivering what you paid for. It's a total rip off and I'd stay far away from them.
