Casey’s General Stores Reviews
Casey's General Stores receives sharply divided customer feedback, with shoppers either highly satisfied or significantly dissatisfied. The primary praise centers on exceptional individual staff members who go above and beyond, such as employees who override automated pricing systems to offer better deals and provide personalized service. However, a substantial portion of reviewers report serious operational and management issues, including allegations of unprofessional staff conduct, inadequate staffing levels leading to long wait times, slow gas pump speeds with excessive advertising loops, and concerning workplace behavior in back-of-house areas.
Management quality emerges as the most consistent complaint among negative reviews, with multiple shoppers describing disrespectful treatment, accusatory behavior, and unprofessional conduct from managers on duty. Several reviewers express frustration with staffing shortages that result in minimal checkout lanes being open despite long customer lines. While positive experiences highlight the potential for excellent service when individual employees take initiative, the frequency of management and operational complaints suggests systemic issues that affect the overall customer experience.
The management at this location is terrible and disrespectful. Got accused of something I absolutely didn't do. On top of that, there are serious issues with staff behavior in the back including suspected drug use during work hours. The manager needs to actually do their job and maintain control. This location should be investigated for what's going on.
Patrick turned our whole experience around at this location. We tried ordering through their automated system and got quoted $51 for two medium pizzas. When we showed up in person, Patrick stepped in, gave us a much better deal at $32, and even suggested we get two large pizzas for just $26. He took care of everything personally and had our order ready perfectly on time. This kind of service saved us as loyal customers. Please keep more people like Patrick on staff and ditch the automated ordering.
What a disaster of a Saturday night visit. Walked in and witnessed an employee being incredibly disrespectful to another staff member, all while customers were watching. The lack of professionalism was shocking.
The Springfield location on Stanford is always running short on staff. You'll walk in and see a line of 10 to 12 people but only one register open while another employee is just sweeping around. The gas pumps are painfully slow too, and I had to sit through like seven ad loops just to pump 12 gallons.
A manager on duty treated me terribly while I was just standing in line waiting to pay. She said some really unkind things that honestly have me questioning if I'll ever come back to any Casey's location. I'm planning to post about this experience everywhere I can online because your management needs to know what's happening. I was doing nothing wrong and didn't deserve to be spoken to that way. This whole situation is really disappointing and I'm going to make sure others know about it.
I gave this company over ten years of my work and got let go on a technicality about clocking in and out. I'd been doing the same thing the entire time I was there but they decided to fire me right after I turned 65. I estimated over a hundred hours of uncounted work time. The manager said the pay was approved but I still haven't received it. This is how they treat loyal employees.
They charged $150 to my debit card and then only refunded most of it back after deducting gas costs. I called and told them I won't be shopping there anymore. This is a terrible way to do business. I was a rewards member but I'm done giving them my money.
This particular Casey's is poorly managed from top to bottom. The manager shows up whenever she feels like it despite being salaried, the kitchen is closed more often than open, and female employees are regularly left working alone at night which violates company policy. With four managers on staff you'd think things would run smoothly, but instead they keep closing early multiple nights in a row. Staff members discuss inappropriate things in front of kids, and management has shown up inebriated and caused scenes with customers. Calling headquarters to complain is pointless because they keep you on hold until close just to avoid listening. The regional manager completely ignores the problems.
This location had nearly everything on my shopping list except nonstick pans. After I finished looking around and started feeling fatigued, I took a quick rest on the floor.
Found pretty much everything I was looking for except nonstick pans. After searching around and getting tired, I decided to rest on the floor for a bit.
Props to the team running the Dixon Ave location in Rock Falls. Their food is seriously the best in town, no joke. The delivery driver definitely earned that five dollar tip I gave him tonight.
Every Friday I pick up pizzas for my family and the experience is always fantastic. The kitchen staff really keeps things moving and gets our order done right on schedule. Even when there's a delay they hook us up with a couple liters of soda to make it right. I really appreciate having a place that takes good care of its customers like this.
I've been shopping at Casey's since they first opened. I've visited locations in multiple states including Ankeny, Des Moines, Creston, and places in Nebraska and Oklahoma. Never once had a bad experience. The pizza is consistently amazing and I honestly miss having a Casey's now that I'm living down in Texas. Those stores meant a lot to me.
The location in Joplin is the real deal. It's way more than just a gas station or convenience store. The staff actually talks to you like you're family and genuinely cares about your day. If anyone says Casey's isn't a great place they're seriously missing out on what this location offers.
The team at the 60th and F location deserves serious recognition. Their helpfulness and positive energy make all the difference. This place should set the standard for how other stores operate. While I could grab what I need anywhere, I keep coming back because of how well they treat me.
