Created with AI, based on recent reviews

A.T. Cross Company receives deeply polarized reviews, with 21 shoppers rating the store 2.0 out of 5. The majority of negative reviews center on severe operational issues: extended shipping delays lasting months beyond expected timeframes, unresponsive customer service with difficulty reaching support staff, and problems with order modifications, payment processing disputes, and warranty claim handling. Customers report feeling ignored after sending multiple emails and having phone calls go unanswered or unresolved. A small segment of satisfied reviewers praise the actual product quality, noting that Cross pens are well-built, durable over years of use, and offer good value for the price, with long-lasting ink and a premium feel.

The disconnect between product satisfaction and company operations is striking. While some customers stand behind the pens themselves, the ordering and customer service experience is so problematic that it overshadows the merchandise quality. Issues range from inability to make changes to orders, unexplained payment hold-ups, lifetime warranty claims that go unresolved for months, and general communication breakdowns. Prospective buyers should weigh whether they can tolerate significant delays and potential customer service complications when considering a purchase.

AT Cross says one thing but doesn't follow through. I bought an expensive pen for someone special and called a couple days after to request a change. They said once an order ships, nothing can be adjusted and it'd take two weeks anyway. More than two weeks have passed since I bought it, so they absolutely had time to help. Don't waste your cash on this place.

Bought a pen in late November as a Christmas present, which seemed like plenty of time. We're halfway through January now and still waiting. The tracking info just says it shipped but gives no real updates. I managed to reach someone on the phone who basically had no clue and couldn't help at all. That's the last time I'm ordering anything from Cross.

We kept getting dunned for payment even though we already paid them. I sent proof multiple times and followed up with several emails asking if everything was settled. Got nothing back. They told us they froze our account until payment came through, which made it all even more frustrating. This company won't be seeing any more of our business. Really disappointed in how they handle things.

This pen is built well and offers great value. Been using the same one for over two years. I write with actual pen and paper regularly, not like most people these days, and I've definitely put this thing through its paces when I've gotten frustrated. It holds up great. The ink supply goes forever and the design feels premium. Don't pay attention to all the negativity out there, the build quality and price point are really solid.

Like many others, I'm very unhappy. Got a Cross pen as a birthday present that broke after half a year. Used their lifetime warranty option and mailed it back with tracking. Cross received it in September 2023 and I haven't seen it since. I've sent numerous emails and gotten vague responses about delays and office changes. Recently they quit replying altogether. Part of why I bought Cross was that lifetime warranty promise. Can't recommend them, and I regret the purchase.

Getting hold of AT Cross feels impossible. I eventually hunted down their number and finally connected. You have to call during US business hours rather than UK hours, but how are customers supposed to know that? A representative gave me an email for complaints and promised to respond. Still waiting. I called again and got told I couldn't be connected. I give up trying. I own several AT Cross products and they used to be a solid UK company. Now they're a terrible American operation that doesn't give a second thought to UK customers.

Bradley J.Aug 14, 2023

Never got my order and no one answers my emails. The phone line is useless, nobody picks up and nothing gets resolved. I've always appreciated Cross pens but that's over now. I basically threw my money away with nothing to show for it.

William P.Aug 2, 2023

I'd give zero stars if the system allowed it. AT Cross is arguably the worst business I've dealt with. They spam my inbox constantly with offers while their website is full of items marked out of stock. Getting customer service is basically impossible since no one picks up. They need to answer for their terrible operations and nonexistent support. I'm planning to file complaints with consumer protection agencies about this.

Our business ordered pens back in November 2022 and it's now mid-2023. We can never get a straight answer on when or if our order will actually be made in China. They charge insane markups on products that would be pennies at a discount store if not for the brand name. How is their reputation going to help if they can't keep up with orders? Seems like they're not investing in manufacturing or staffing to match their success.

Andrew H.May 9, 2023

The UK operation has basically no customer service. There's no email to contact and a phone line that's useless. If you're paying someone to run the UK office, it might be time for a serious conversation about their performance. They're losing you money with this approach.

Monica F.Mar 13, 2023

The negative reviews are valid, I went through the same problems. But then Jennifer Lacasse from Global Marketing fixed in three days what others wouldn't touch in months, and my pens came back to me. Cross really needs more people like Jennifer on staff. They understand that keeping customers happy is what lets everyone succeed. The company makes solid products and had a strong name for years, so here's hoping they bring back that customer trust by hiring quality employees who actually care.

Hands down the worst experience I've had with any business. Calling them is pointless and voicemails go nowhere. Placed an order recently for two pens and some refills. The refills arrived but the pens never showed up, yet their system says the whole order is complete. I'm bummed because I'm local and want them to do well, but I also bought a pen over a year ago that had quality issues and nothing came of it. I'm finished with Cross Pens.

Thomas B.Jan 26, 2023

Reached out to Cross back in May saying I hadn't been able to find black rollerball refills for about a year and a half. They got back saying supply chain problems meant items would probably be back in stock by end of summer. It's now several months past that and still nothing. Haven't used the pen in two years at this point. Can't recommend this company.

Richard F.Dec 23, 2022

Cross Pen has cut off access to Office Depot locations in Florida. Can't find any refills or erasers. Their eraser website shows a 404 error. The specs for erasers are completely wrong, like the diameter information for different pencil sizes is totally off. It's starting to look like the company might be heading toward serious financial trouble.

Jonathan S.Oct 11, 2022

Got a really nice expensive Cross pen as a gift for a milestone birthday, something I treasured and barely used. The clip on the cap broke and I reached out to Cross expecting they'd help since they advertise a lifetime warranty on mechanics. Turns out they don't care at all. Won't fix it, won't replace it, nothing. Now I have a 120 dollar pen sitting around that looks broken. I own cheaper pens that get daily use and are still perfect. These folks are taking money and refusing to stand behind their promises.
