Eargo Reviews
Shoppers rate Eargo hearing aids at 4.6 out of 5 based on 22 reviews, with the vast majority praising the devices for their small size, comfort, and effective sound quality. Many reviewers highlight the improved Eargo 8 design with its trumpet-shaped ear tips as a significant upgrade over previous models, and they consistently commend the user-friendly mobile app and responsive customer support team. A small number of reviewers report serious issues including device failures, charging problems, and app connectivity troubles within the warranty period, as well as frustration with the company's refusal to support devices purchased through third-party marketplaces.
Long-term users who purchase directly from Eargo express high satisfaction with the product improvements and customer service. However, durability concerns emerge in some cases, with one reviewer experiencing multiple device failures and replacements within nine months. The company's policy of not assisting marketplace customers, even for replacement parts, has also generated negative feedback from at least one purchaser.
I'm really impressed with these hearing aids. They're small, effective, and feel great to wear. They help me pick up sounds I haven't heard in quite a while. The app on my phone is really user-friendly and helpful, plus the Eargo support team is phenomenal - they're knowledgeable, they reach out proactively, and they respond right away. I'm thrilled with what I bought and I'm telling everyone to check them out. I honestly didn't think I'd ever actually enjoy using hearing aids, but these are different.
I got brand new Eargo 8 hearing aids from an online marketplace. I lost the right device and reached out to Eargo asking if I could purchase a replacement, mentioning that I understood there was no warranty because of how I got them. They told me they don't help marketplace customers with anything, not even selling replacement parts. These hearing aids almost certainly came straight from Eargo's factory and warehouse, just not through their direct channel. I get the no-warranty policy, but not even letting me buy a replacement unit seemed harsh. I also own Eargo SE devices that I upgraded from. The audio quality on the Eargo 8s is a bit improved, but honestly not by a huge margin.
I got a pair of Eargo 8 hearing devices after using my Eargo 6s for a number of years. I'm super impressed with these Eargo 8s. The trumpet-shaped design is much better than the previous ear tips. They're way comfier and stay in my ears a lot better. Usually, I don't even think about the fact that I have them in. I'm really happy with the new charger too, which offers much longer battery time and uses wireless charging. The sound quality is really strong and I can wear them the whole day without any problems.
I grabbed a pair of Eargo 8 hearing devices to replace my Eargo 6s that I've been using for several years. I'm really happy with the upgrade. The new trumpet-shaped design is way better compared to the older ear tips - they feel a lot nicer and stay put way better. Most of the time, I don't even remember that I have them on. The charger is fantastic too - the battery lasts a lot longer and the wireless charging is super convenient. The hearing performance is solid and putting them in and wearing them all day is no hassle at all.
I picked up Eargo 8 recently, and I have to say the jump from my Eargo 6 from a few years ago is really noticeable. The audio from the Eargo 8 is fantastic. I'm a piano player and instructor, so being able to hear the complete range of tones from the piano is important to me. My higher notes were fading, and while I could still make them out, they'd lost that clear, vibrant quality that proper hearing gives you. My Eargo 6 helped, but this newer version is top-notch and gives me way better audio. I also really appreciate how discrete they are. With my students, I don't want them noticing or pointing out my hearing aids. People never even know I'm wearing Eargo. They're not cheap, but they run about half of what you'd spend on typical hearing aids at a brick-and-mortar shop. My customer support interactions with Eargo have consistently been excellent.
Honestly, I'm really disappointed with my Eargo 7 purchase from last year. In the nine months I've owned them, I've had to get four replacements because of different problems - some quit working, others wouldn't charge, and some wouldn't hold a charge. Even worse, the new charger now won't connect to the app to set up my latest replacement device. Out of those nine months, I've maybe gotten six months of actual use because of all the replacement waiting periods. At this point I'd call them a waste of money and wouldn't suggest them to anyone. I've asked about returning them even though it's past 45 days, but they're saying no. Skip these and look at something else instead.
This is my third time buying Eargo, and these are easily the top. The support people are fantastic and the devices genuinely function well. In busy or loud settings, I can hear so much clearer now.
Eargo is an incredible product from an incredible company. I went through three different hearing aid options before settling on Eargo SEs - wish I'd started here first. The SEs fit completely inside your ear canal and are a breeze to look after. They come with a handy carrying case that also charges them, and you can charge them up to five times before the case itself needs charging. At 16 hours per charge, that's an 80-hour stretch before needing to charge the case! The company does a live training session with you to help you learn the SEs, offers a year warranty, and provides LIFETIME support, which is really uncommon! When you call for help, you actually get a real person instead of navigating through a bunch of automated options. I wish the volume had one more setting since I didn't realize how much hearing I'd lost in one ear, but that's minor.
These deliver really excellent sound and sit comfortably in your ears. The app makes setup super simple, and all the instructional videos are great and really clear. An audiologist actually recommended Eargo when I asked her which OTC in-canal option to pick, so that made choosing much easier. I'd spent months going back and forth after reading tons of reviews and articles. Being able to try them for 45 days for free without risk gave me the confidence to finally make the decision.
These are fantastic hearing aids - honestly the best fully-in-canal devices I've come across that don't require a visit to an audiologist and the big price tag that comes with it. I had the Eargo 5 before upgrading to the Eargo 7. For me, Eargo has made a real difference in how I live my life and has been particularly helpful with my tinnitus issues. Plus, they're practically invisible, which matters to me since I'm not comfortable with visible hearing aids. I wear them and usually forget they're even there. The support from their team is outstanding - they respond quickly to any concerns. I'm planning to stay a loyal Eargo customer for years to come.
After seeing great reviews from a major tech publication, I bought Eargo 7 hearing aids. This was my first pair ever, and I liked the in-ear design with the special open-petal shape. The cost was reasonable, the audio was really good, and the app is intuitive and simple. Best of all, the customer service was outstanding! From my first interaction with the sales staff through my time with the audiologist to the people who answered my calls - everyone got me to the right person quickly. I also really appreciated the helpful emails with advice and tips as I was getting used to wearing them. Due to the shape of my ears, I ended up not being able to keep them, but the entire return process had no pressure and the support was excellent. I'd definitely suggest the Eargo 7s and this company to anyone thinking about it.
Fantastic product. I used Eargo 5 devices before and just got the Eargo 7s - they work wonderfully. The customer service crew has done an amazing job tailoring my devices to exactly what I need.
Getting into hearing assistance was a really positive move for me. I have my Eargo 7 set up with four options: regular, restaurant, meeting, and music. The first three settings feel pretty similar and work just like I expected, but that music mode is unbelievable! I used to be in broadcasting and got exposed to plenty of loud sounds, which probably hurt my hearing as I've gotten older. With the music setting, it looks like it cranks up the full range of sound and does something clever with the audio to make it feel bigger when I'm listening to good stereo music. Really impressive stuff. It's been nice getting emails and calls from Eargo since I bought them, even though I haven't needed to use their support.
During calls, voices come through clearly and are easy to follow. The way different sound frequencies are adjusted helps with higher frequency hearing loss and makes talking on the phone better. When I'm listening to streamed audio, the quality is excellent and matches premium music streaming. The frequency adjustments in this mode are also thoughtful for high-frequency hearing loss. The earbuds are simple to operate - just a tap or a couple of taps on the touch controls lets you do different things. What's great is the earbuds coordinate with each other, so you don't manage them separately. You don't need a separate app on your phone - everything just works! I get several hours per charge, which is plenty for regular daily use, and they charge back up pretty quickly. The case recharges the earbuds four times before needing to charge itself. These earbuds are a great addition to my current setup.
