If you encounter a problem on arrival at your property which you booked on www.hostelworld.com, Hostelworld will credit your account with the deposit amount you paid, plus $50 extra for the inconvenience.
To make a claim, you must contact Hostelworld within 48 hours of arrival by filling in the Booking Guarantee contact form on Hostelworld.com. You must provide a copy of your confirmation email or booking reference number to verify your claim.
Credit is applied to the email used for the original booking, valid for 6 months, and only for accommodation deposits - no refunds or cash value. Use the same email to book next time to apply the credit automatically.
The Booking Guarantee does not cover properties that close due to unforeseen circumstances.
Booking Guarantee credit is applied in USD only.
Hostelworld Cancellation Policy
Hostelworld’s cancellation policy requires you to cancel at least 24 hours before your arrival date to avoid a no-show or late cancellation charge.
To cancel your booking:

Find your booking.

Click on “Cancel”.
When you click “Cancel”, the property will be automatically notified of your cancellation. You can cancel online up to 24 hours before your arrival date.
After this date has passed, then it will not be possible to cancel online. Cancellations after this time are considered a late cancellation or no-show and additional charges may apply.
