Give hp a wide berth

Early october my hp printer was playing up so i rang customer services for their opinion and they did a few tasks their oplnion was that the printer was at the end of its days.they told me that hp had a 20% discount if I purchased another hp printer.so I went and purchased another one they also told me to ring them and do all the paperwork to get the offer which I did.they told me offer was I would have to wait sixty days to get cash back which has now occurred.i rang them again to see how I get my discount.they said I had to apply with a form the problem is they couldn’t tell me how to get that form(after 5 calls)I had a email from them to say I qualified for discount. The support team then gave me a phone no I think it’s a German phone no which ihave rung 5 times and get a message saying after 5 mins cannot connect you ring back later.i just cannot get help at all.so I would say give this company a wide berth as their support is absolutely non existent.

HP’ scam service again.

Bought an Office jet Pro 2 years ago in Hong Kong, shipped it back with our belongings to the UK as it was barely used. Purchased an original black ink which was the model I was informed to order from within the HP mobile App, (963XL) at the cost of £42.00 from Amazon. Installed this ink only to see the printer didn’t recognize it. Contacted HP and was informed that a the region needed to be changed in the printer. Ok no problem, however the only way to do this is to give HP remote access to my personal laptop, meaning they would have access to any personal data in the laptop. They also require you to have the original cartridges from the home country. Who on earth keeps old cartridges that are no longer useful. Absolutely ridiculous service from HP. They need to have either a service center where they can physically do this for you on site or don’t regionally program the printers in the first place. We pay good money for a new printer and original ink we should be able to use them wherever we like. The call ended with me asking for the complaints procedure and the HP staff hanging up the call. Absolutely disgusting service from a person who could barely speak English. Will certainly not be using any HP products going forward. The entire printer business from HP is a total scam

Buyer Beware

Buyer Beware! Any HP printer ending with an e, when initially setting it up, DO Not set it up to be connected to their subscription service as it locks your printer in to them for a monthly subscription or for the purchasing of Genuine HP cartridges, at full price! It’s a Con, but you can avoid it, read online first before installing. I now have a pretty useless piece of equipment as I have cancelled the monthly subscription. It’s going in a SKIP! No more HP FOR ME.

I am writing this as a broken woman who…

I am writing this as a broken woman who very nearly surrendered to the abyss, but—like a tragic heroine crawling across the finish line—I am here, somehow, to leave feedback.Let me begin with the good, because he deserves it:The advisor who handled my case was absolutely lovely. Truly wonderful. Patient, kind, and clearly trapped in the same labyrinth I was. The poor man spent what felt like hours with me, and I could practically hear his soul leaving his body every time he had to ask me to repeat a step we’d already done twelve times. He deserves a medal. And a holiday. And possibly trauma counselling. Now… onto the actual process.Your process is, frankly, absolutely ridiculous. The amount of circles, loops, back-and-forths, and pure repetition nearly broke me. I’m convinced this flowchart was designed by someone who hates both people and printers. I could see the advisor was completely stuck to the “official procedure”—a procedure I can only assume was written by a committee of malfunctioning robots.Let’s talk logistics:I work Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:30.Your support is open Monday to Friday, 08:40 to 18:00.Which meant my only chance of survival was sacrificing my dinner break and sneakily slacking off work. Had I behaved like an honest employee, this process would have taken MONTHS. Plural. Before I contacted support, I did all the troubleshooting. ALL of it.Then I had to do it again. And again. And again.I explained the issue from the very beginning. Then we did:– video evidence– the classic turn-it-off-turn-it-on– reset– change cartridges– reset again– print with one cartridge– print with the other– different paper– another reset– a dramatic sigh– a small internal death– another reset– another YouTube tutorial– my spirit leaving my bodyYou get the idea.At some point I became convinced this entire process exists simply to wear us down until we give up, throw the printer out of the nearest window, and buy a new one—or wait quietly until the warranty expires.Meanwhile, this printer’s sole purpose is to print my home-educated children’s work. I even pay monthly for the ink subscription! And yet, for more than two weeks, this machine has been nothing but an expensive, emotionally abusive paperweight.Eventually, after what can only be described as a last desperate plea, the advisor bravely requested a replacement. Management—by the grace of all that is holy—AGREED.I nearly wept.Again, absolutely no criticism of the advisor. He was a saint bound by the sacred tick-box ritual. But please… I beg you… never put anyone through this again. The mere thought of my replacement printer ever having an issue fills me with a sense of doom so intense I may genuinely just surrender and buy a Canon next time.Thank you for the replacement. And may no one else ever have to walk the path I walked.

Dreadful quality item and atrocious customer service

Bought a new 7000 series printer. It’s unusable as the lead doesn’t fit properly. It keeps falling out. Totally useless! Will be returning. Their customer service is atrocious. No help whatsoever. Will definitely not be replacing with another HP printer.

HP Instant Ink is expensive and unreliable

HP Instant Ink is an expensive and frustrating product. I got billed between $14 and $15 monthly and did not receive instant ink for over 10 months. I called to cancel today and ask for a refund... got unsatisfactory results from their customer service . DO NOT PURCHASE INSTANT INK.

Foolishly I recognised HP as quality…

Foolishly I recognised HP as quality product when I brought my last printer, and then I succumbed to their targeted what seemed a great scheme, in automated ink supply, and gave them access to my printer and Ink Cartridge supply, now I am paying the price. No Service, only Bots, and no logarithms relative, to any real service options, one faulty cartridge and i am to my second day trying to get my HP OfficeJet 8010e, back dump my ink cartridges, and go back to sourcing mine. My costs will be a full set of cartridges and likely an IT Support Person, to cancel HP Links to reset my Printer so I can now manually support. Be warned HP are not a service company they are opportunists with no customer service support.

Extremely poor communication skills

Extremely poor communication skills! Do not trust HP customer support! They do not know about dual band WiFi network capabilities. You have to ask your network provider for guidance!Fire the CEO! Start at the top to send a message!

Was going to ask if anyone had managed to obtain a phone number and reach someone who actually spoke English! Having read the reviews, it's obvious that there is no such being working for HP. Gave up after two hours of trying.

I LOVE HP copiers

I LOVE HP copiers. My last one lasted 10 years!!!! So we decided to purchase a new model. I purchased a Personal use HP copier for my home. I saw HP’s cutesy ad on the copier for “free” ink and paper for 90 days. All I had to do is sign up with a credit card for a monthly billing there after. I thought okay I’ll sign up. I’ve been on the plan for almost a year. I want to cancel my subscription, Since I think it’s costing me more to use the ink and paper “service” than if I purchase from Costco. And they are telling me I can’t use the printer anymore without paying them more money since I’m over my Contracted amount. What in the world!?!? This is not a business. They won’t replace my printer if it goes bad I’ll have to pay for a new one. So why do they have the RIGHT to tell me how many copies I can make I a Month?! I Bought and PAY THEM MONTHLY for the ink and paper. So my paper shows I have over 200 copies left “on my plan” but 16 on the ink. And the ink cartridges are still full. If I cancel now I can only use their ink cartridges for two more weeks?! When my plan pays out again. So they want 1/2 empty cartridges back… I had to go buy some ink last month since my yellow ran out and they never did one thing about that, but to tell me I had a cartridge That was not theirs. (No it is HP from the store I paid for since they didn’t send me more when needed). Their little game is NOT worth the hassle nor money. You can get more for you dollar from the most expensive store around than by using their “service”. BE AWARE they nickel and dime you. $1.50 per ten copies over the “Contract”! What a JOKE. If this were a business and they’d replace my machine when it wears out or repair it (which they DON’T) I would NOT RECOMMEND this “service”. Steer clear. Don’t be sucked in. I still like the HP product BUT their ink and paper programs are a scam. And interstate Fraud. Why aren’t the asking for my unused paper back?! Hmmm?Seriously HP would be a Solid Five if this program wasn’t so crooked!

HP CUSTOMER SERVICE IS VERY POOR!

On July 6, 2025 I bought a new HP Smart Tank 7602 Wireless All-in-One Ink Tank Printer. It arrived with a defective lid (glass cover). On 10/14/2025 I reported it to HP Customer Service. After answering many questions, I was told that I would receive a shipping label by email within 24 - 48 hours. It never came! So, on 10/28/2025 I called again. “Austin” also said that I would receive a return shipping label in 24 - 28 hours. Today is 12/6/2025 and still no label! I was previously told that I would have to return the defective printer before they would send a refurbished replacement. Now, even in the unlikely event that HP sends a label, I would not trust them to send a replacement printer - I don’t think they ever would! So I’ll just put up with this printer with the defective lid.

Scammers

Scammers. Tech support upsell to rogue company. Scammed us for £450. They will tell ypu you clicked a scam link or a wrong number. We called on a number that is prominent on their website and in numerous HP community posts submitted by many differnent so called HP experts. They either operate rogue twch support agents or they are incentivised to upsell. AVOID!

Voided my laptop warranty

I have purchased many HP products over the years including a recent new HP laptop via an Amazon seller (doing this review on an HP laptop). When a hardware problem arose yesterday, I was advised by their online tech support that the seller completely voided my warranty by adding memory to the device, even though HP's own documentation states adding memory does not void warranties. The rep basically said I no longer have a warranty and closed my case. Today I returned the laptop to the Amazon seller for a refund, and immediately purchased two Dell laptops from Costco. I always fail to understand the corporate vision of a company that thinks driving away their customers to avoid a minute financial obligation is a good business strategy. Just the simple act of me switching from HP to Dell today results in a financial loss to HP which will accumulate over time as I will not purchase their products again. Clearly, they are not doing anything to help themselves and they certainly didn't do anything to help me.

HP Forces you to use their Ink Cartridge

Several companies make quality print cartridges. But HP does not want you to use anything but their print cartridges which are on average, twice the price of other companies and will give an error code when you do even when it works perfectly in my other printer. When it comes time to replace my printer I will never consider an HP printer.

Three times in NOT a Charm !

I called HP service 3 times and the first two people hung up on me after I asked my question. The third person told me to call back because his computer was down. If I did not know better, these may be fake numbers because they wanted me to call multiple times....seems suspicious to me. Sill have not had my question answered....Not a good look for a multi- billion $ company.

Awful service

Awful service. Ordered a laptop with next day delivery an hour slot. They delivered early so I missed it. Waited in for a 2nd delivery taking a day off work but they failed to show. I tracked it and it showed I had rejected it!! It never even arrived!! I sent them a query asking where was the laptop as it was for a business and urgent. They then sent me an email saying refunded as rejected. When I got thru they finally admitted it was damaged in transit and not delivered but couldn’t replace as out of stock. In summary if you need a laptop go to another company.
