Outstanding customer service experience here. I've been a Leatherman customer since the late eighties and have owned many of their pocket tools over the years. I've brought four tools back in for repairs, and all of them were either fixed or replaced with an upgraded model without any problems and really quickly. I'm really happy with my recent purchase of a Leatherman Bolster. I've unfortunately lost or left behind quite a few pocket tools in my time, so it's nice to try out this new option that has a lot of the functionality of the Wingman but costs less. That way I won't be quite as upset if I misplace it.

The actual tools themselves are solid, but that doesn't mean much when you're dealing with absolutely terrible customer support. I sent in a tool for warranty work and kept checking on the status at weeks 4, 6, and 8. First they told me repairs usually take 4 to 6 weeks, then suddenly it's 8 to 10 weeks. After week 10 passes, they finally tell me they never got the tool in the first place. Now they refuse to help me figure out what happened, and I'm sitting here out over £300 with nothing to show for it. I shipped it via express mail and while I don't have the tracking number anymore, the odds of it getting lost in the mail are incredibly slim.

It's incredibly tough, feels great when you're using it, and can handle demanding work without any problems. Whether I need to cut something, turn a bolt, or make an adjustment out in the field, the Signal always performs. I've carried many multitools over the years, but this one is clearly superior in how it's made and what it can do. I mailed in my blast for a warranty repair or replacement, but since that model got discontinued they couldn't do it. Instead they sent me a bond, which is honestly a step down in every way, less quality, fewer features, and lighter build. I wasn't thrilled about this at all. The blast was my everyday carry and those scissors and saw were really useful for mountain trips. The bond is basically a bare bones tool that doesn't cut it for my needs. Feels like the company just cares about saving money instead of keeping customers happy. I eventually managed to reach someone in customer service and got them to agree to swap it for a slightly better model, though still not as good as what I originally sent in. They refused to do much else, and at first they wanted me to pay to ship back their inferior replacement. After going back and forth, they at least provided a prepaid label, but I'm still ending up with something way less capable than my original retired tool. It had a saw, scissors, and knife blade, but they basically forced me to accept less. That's just how focused they are on their bottom line instead of actual customer satisfaction.

Don't bother ordering from this company. I purchased the Leatherman Curl knife without checking whether it was locking or non locking. When it arrived, I found out it was locking, and since I'm in the UK, I can't legally carry a locking blade as an everyday tool. I sent them a return request just two or three days after getting it, asking for a refund. The back and forth with their support team was pointless and frustrating. Now I can't reach them at all. It's been five weeks of basically being ignored, the 30 day return window has come and gone, and I feel completely brushed off. The knife itself is actually made well, but I genuinely feel like Leatherman ripped me off with their absolutely horrible customer service.

If you're buying outside the US, stay away. The customer service is unacceptable. Leatherman's Bit Driver Extender has had ongoing problems for years, but they keep selling it anyway. I ordered one without realizing this flaw, plus a Bit Kit and a Wave+. On my very first use, a bit got stuck inside the extender and wouldn't come out. I contacted Leatherman's support team, but since I'm not in the USA, they refused to replace or exchange anything. They only offered a partial refund as a consolation. I wasn't satisfied with that answer at all, and when I tried following up, my emails went completely ignored for five weeks straight. Unless you're in America, don't bother buying from this company, because if something goes wrong, you're on your own.

Ordered a personalized multitool as an anniversary gift for my wife. It was frustrating to pay almost half the item's price just for shipping, but I didn't have much choice. When it arrived, I opened it and found the wrong tool inside, personalized for somebody else. I'm located in the UK, so I reached out to the customer service email on my order, which was supposedly for the European office. All I got was an automated reply saying they were swamped and would get back to me whenever they felt like it. No ticket number, no timeframe, nothing. After trying several emails and phone calls over the next few days, someone finally told me that wasn't even the right contact and I needed to reach out to the US team instead. Why was that address on my order? Things got messier from there. They promised to handle it quickly and even mentioned giving me a discount, so I shipped the wrong tool back and waited for my replacement. When I followed up later, they claimed I'd misunderstood and that I was supposed to request a refund, place a completely new order at full price, and then contact them again. Meanwhile, I'd actually found the person who got my original tool and we confirmed he had mine too.

Purchased a brand new Leatherman wave on February 1st, 2023. By July 17th of that same year, it broke. A section of the pliers jaws snapped clean off. I have pictures showing the damage but unfortunately I'm not sure how to upload them to this review.

I placed an order for some accessories, and these items don't come in stores and have zero warranty on them. Leatherman sent me an email saying my order would be canceled unless I called them directly on the phone. I tried getting help through their online chat instead and explained that I'm deaf and unable to make phone calls. The response I got was honestly shocking. They said "normal people don't order like that" and "what does being deaf have to do with anything?" This is discrimination against people who are deaf and hard of hearing, and it's completely unacceptable. I don't understand why they have an online ordering system if they're still going to require voice calls. I was told this is their policy now when someone orders more than a few items. Are they really rationing screwdriver bits? According to federal law, public businesses have to accommodate telecommunications relay calls the same way they handle regular phone calls, but Leatherman isn't following that requirement.
