About Little Caesars

Little Caesars was born out of the love between Mike Ilitch and Marian Bayoff. Like many great ventures, it started from humble beginnings; before becoming a global chain, Little Caesars was just a single store. Mike and Marian, who met on a blind date, inherited the pizzeria from Mike's father.

In 1959, they took a significant risk by investing everything they had in a single pizza shop located in Garden City, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. Marian even meticulously recorded all the orders, big and small, in a notebook.

Gradually, they found success and expanded through franchising, which allowed Little Caesars to become the fastest-growing pizza chain in the U.S. and a recognized international brand.

Today, the company operates restaurants in all 50 states and 18 international markets.

I once wondered why a pizza chain would be named Little Caesars instead of something like "Good Pizza." After doing some research, I discovered that Marian chose the name based on her husband's nickname. The original name of the store was longer—“Little Caesars Pizza Treats”—but eventually, "Little Caesars" became iconic.

One reason for Little Caesars' remarkable success is its signature menu items. In 1988, they introduced a square deep dish pizza called Pan!Pan!®, along with national television advertising.

Additionally, it's important to mention that Little Caesars operates a volunteer kitchen known as Love Kitchen, which provides hot meals for the homeless. Love Kitchen has been recognized by the President of the United States on two occasions for its charitable efforts.

You can find Little Caesars on Facebook, X, and Instagram.
