Really let down by the quality these days. I bought a dress that came apart at the seams after just two washes. For a premium Finnish brand, that's pretty embarrassing. When I complained, their support team wasn't helpful and denied the refund, saying it was just wear and tear. I expected so much better than this.

Almost all my dishes are Marimekko and the quality is honestly fantastic. My printed plates still look brand new after more than a decade. Recently I broke part of a teapot I've owned for years as a gift, so I didn't have a receipt, and they actually replaced it for me without any issues. That kind of gesture really makes you loyal to a brand. I also have a couple of bags from them and they're beautifully designed and really well made.

The Everything backpack arrived on schedule and looks nice in terms of design, except the keychain has an oversized logo that feels a bit tacky. The main problems are that a laptop doesn't fit right in the laptop section, the magnetic closures are weak so stuff could fall out, and the opening mechanism is stiff and hard to use. When packed, the top flap doesn't even cover the opening fully, and the straps stretch out under weight. The shoulder straps are made of slippery material so they keep sliding off. If you fill it completely, you can't close it because the flap is too small. It looks stylish on the surface, but it's obvious no one actually tested this in everyday use. Where did Marimekko's quality standards go?

Just got a Marimekko tote bag and I'm so pleased with it. The workmanship is really great and the pattern is so vibrant and fun.

I wish I'd done my research before buying from Marimekko online. Given how famous and well-regarded the brand is, I didn't bother looking into past customer experiences, which was a mistake. Like many others have complained, their customer service is terrible. I needed to return a dress and followed their website instructions. They emailed saying I'd get a return label within days, but it took over a week. I called twice and emailed multiple times. The phone reps either had no clue or were deliberately unhelpful. It's baffling that in 2025 they can't generate a return label instantly like most companies do. Plus, their shipping partner DHL had issues with a bad QR code and website problems, which meant more waiting around for a pickup. The actual return did get processed quickly, but the whole experience was so frustrating that I'll never order from this company again.

I'm just not happy with what I ordered. Wouldn't exactly call it a scam, but I'm definitely not satisfied with my purchase.

Their online returns system doesn't match what you'd expect from a major global fashion brand. When you send something back at your own expense, instead of a refund you get a promo code. The catch is you can only use it on full-priced items, not anything on sale. It's honestly a policy I've never seen before. On top of that, their online support team is slow to respond and I've never gotten anyone on the phone no matter when I call or how many times I leave messages. I've actually missed out on sales because they took so long to answer. Not what you'd expect from a company like Marimekko. I'd say only order online if you're 100% sure you'll keep it. The in-store staff are usually great but you can't always get to a physical location, so I'm shopping with them way less now because I don't want online hassles.

I ordered from their outlet store about 4 days ago without being told the items ship from China. My credit card shows a charge from a company called BB-AIMPUZZLE HONG KONG for 5 euros more than what I was quoted. The tracking link in their email keeps saying order not found even days later. I've already cancelled my card. I'd be shocked if this actually shows up. A lot of people warned about this on social media and I should have listened. Right now this feels like a scam situation.

My orders have always arrived quickly to Scotland and the products, whether textiles or kitchen items, have been in great shape. That said, for a brand with Marimekko's reputation, the packaging experience needs improvement. They should stick to one standard. Orders from Finland come in proper branded cardboard boxes, but when I got my Unikko bedspread from elsewhere, it showed up wrapped in what looked like a plain grey garbage bag with just my address written on it. No branding, nothing. It felt really cheap and disappointing. For a luxury brand, I'd expect consistent, thoughtful packaging every time. I'd also love to see them switch to eco-friendly materials like paper tape instead of plastic, and definitely retire those awful plastic bin bag wrappings for both aesthetic and environmental reasons.

I bought some things online as a birthday present and they said delivery would be 3-5 business days. After 6 business days with no updates, I emailed them. I also tried calling their main office number three times but kept getting voicemail. They finally emailed on day 6 saying my order shipped, but there's no way to track it. Terrible service and I won't be coming back. I've seen lots of complaints about this company online.

I have a real problem with Marimekko. Skip them if you're in the UK. When you return something, they won't refund the tax you paid on it.
