The Melting Pot receives mixed feedback from shoppers, with ratings split between enthusiasts and those concerned about value. Supporters consistently praise the interactive fondue experience, quality food (particularly the cheese and chocolate courses), attentive servers, and fun atmosphere that engages families. Many reviewers highlight the entertainment value of cooking at the table and note specific staff members (such as managers and servers) who delivered exceptional service. However, a significant point of contention is pricing, with multiple shoppers noting that while the food quality is good, the overall cost feels unjustified for what you receive. Some customers also report negative interactions with ownership or management, citing dismissive attitudes toward large groups.

Regularly mentioned strengths include the interactive dining format, quality ingredients, and knowledgeable staff at various locations. Recurring complaints center on high prices relative to portion size and value, as well as occasional issues with management attitude and accessibility (the chain has limited locations, requiring some customers to travel significant distances). Despite these concerns, loyal customers report returning over many years, suggesting the experience resonates with those who prioritize the novelty and social aspect over cost efficiency.

The owner's attitude is pretty rude but I'll say the food is great. We came in with ten people and a baby and the owner freaked out saying we'd have to wait. I explained that since there are no reservations we understood we might need to wait for a table. The food and servers are good, but honestly the owner comes across as kind of a jerk.

This place would definitely be a five star if it wasn't for the crazy high prices. The Thousand Oaks location has a really nice vibe and the staff was super attentive throughout our visit. We loved how interactive the experience is and it kept our kids entertained while we all had good conversations. The problem is the pricing just doesn't make sense for what you get.

Wow, this place is awesome! Great food, really fun to cook it yourself, and the service is top notch. My husband and I went for dinner and yeah it's pricey but totally worth the money. Pro tip: make sure you ask for refills on your food! We went to the location in Pittsburgh.

I've been a regular at The Melting Pot since 2013. I started going to the location back in Alabama, first in Birmingham then Huntsville, but unfortunately they closed down in my state. Now I drive three hours to the Kennesaw GA location. I have to give major props to Brandy the manager, Bradley, and Ryan for providing me with exceptional service every time. Those guys made that long drive completely worthwhile. Really grateful for them!

The food was delicious, and our server Mike was absolutely outstanding! He was really knowledgeable about everything and had a great attitude.

It was a decent visit overall. The salad was fine and the cheese and chocolate were both really good. Just expensive though. Two people spent one hundred twenty dollars total.

My daughter and I celebrated Mother's Day at The Melting Pot in Austin and had an absolutely amazing time. We spent two hours cooking and enjoying fantastic food while being taken care of by an incredible server named Matt. He made us feel so welcome and genuinely seemed to care about us. He really helped make the whole evening feel special and celebratory. We're definitely planning to go back.

I've been to The Melting Pot several times with wonderful experiences, but last night as part of a seven person group it was just okay. When they brought our salads out, they mixed up a couple of orders. We also didn't get offered drink refills, and when I asked for one the server said sure but then never came back. Another staff member didn't bring it either. Overall I felt let down.

We stopped by to check the place out and I have to admit it's way too pricey. That said, our server April was really kind, patient, and understanding with us. She was quick to help and very attentive. If we ever go back I'd definitely ask for her again.

The front desk staff here is really not good. Honestly, I'd skip eating at this place.

Great experience overall! Scott waited on our table of seven and was fantastic. He really kept the pace of the meal going smoothly and was super attentive to all of us the whole time.

Ordered a large sub for pickup and when I got home it was nowhere in the bag. Called the restaurant and they initially said they'd deliver it, but then the manager apparently decided not to. It's frustrating enough to get home and realize your order is incomplete, but knowing you already paid for something you never received makes it worse. Also, the bottom crust tends to come out burnt pretty regularly. Seems like there's too much going on with staff goofing around instead of actually paying attention to getting orders right.

Went for Valentine's Day dinner and the server did a great job. All the staff were polite and welcoming. The food and atmosphere were okay, though it does get pretty loud when packed. My biggest issue was the Valentine's Day pricing. They had a special fixed menu with limited choices and it was sixty-five dollars per person for two people, which only included one glass of champagne each and no other drinks. I didn't think the value was there at all. The Melting Pot seems overpriced to me, and honestly the only way I'd go back is if there's a special deal running.

Christina S.Feb 18, 2019

I'd give this place lower than one star if I could. We've been here multiple times for special occasions, and this Valentine's Day visit was a disaster. The owner straight up cancelled our reservation without telling us. We arrived early and were told we didn't have a reservation anymore. When we showed the owner our confirmation email proving we booked a month in advance, he didn't even try to work with us or find a solution. The service was terrible across the board. Won't be returning.

The food quality here is below average. There are definitely better places to eat around.
