Disappointing service and no proper follow-up support.

Really frustrating experience with their service and lack of trustworthiness. Their customer service was unhelpful, rude, and showed no willingness to listen, comprehend, or assist. Problem one: I ordered some parts listed as available from UK stock on their Canadian site, stating 2 to 4 business days for delivery. I anticipated some delay since it's international, and I've ordered from other suppliers overseas without major delays, so I was shocked when I checked status a week later and the order was still processing with a delivery target of late January. I phoned them and was informed they're still waiting for the manufacturer to deliver stock to their facility. Saying something is in stock with specific quantities and timeframes but then not delivering on that is deceptive. Problem two: This is even more serious. I placed an order for two items, 1000 pieces at $0.085 and 300 pieces at $0.096. After adding shipping and taxes, my bill was approximately $144, which matched what I saw before completing my purchase. Then I received a confirmation stating I'd been charged about $266 instead. I realized they'd charged me as though I was buying 10 units of each part. I reached out to customer service and the representative I spoke with didn't even grasp the situation and seemed uninterested in resolving the issue.

I won't be ordering from Newark again. Something has changed significantly since Avnet took over, and it's not for the better. I ordered some basic connectors that showed as available. They placed a hold on my company credit card without notifying me about it. After days went by with no shipping info and multiple phone transfers, the credit card company lifted the hold on their own. No explanation was ever given for why it was frozen in the first place. The order didn't actually ship for a week. When I called to check on it, they kept insisting it had already shipped, but the USPS tracking number wasn't even scanned for pickup until a full week after I placed the order. Customer support appears to be primarily overseas. I'm not opposed to that, but they need to hire people with better English proficiency. It seems like they cut corners to save money, and customers pay the price. Their online chat support is also basically useless and probably should be discontinued. This company used to be really well managed about eight years ago, which is disappointing.

They've got an extensive selection of components and offer same-day delivery options, making them one of the best sources for electronics parts across numerous manufacturers. Their pricing is competitive and often beats other distributors.
