PAX Labs Reviews
PAX Labs products receive sharply divided opinions from shoppers, with 22 reviews averaging 2.7 out of 5. A significant portion of reviewers praise the devices themselves, with some reporting years of satisfactory use. However, a much larger group of shoppers report serious issues including devices failing within weeks or months, unresponsive customer service, and warranty claims being denied or fulfilled with unwanted replacement models rather than the original purchase.
Recurring complaints center on product durability (overheating, power button failures, devices stopping work shortly after purchase), inconsistent customer support responsiveness, and warranty claim denials based on technicalities (such as removing the mouthpiece when allegedly instructed to do so by PAX). Several reviewers report that support responses fail to address their actual issues, and replacement units often differ from the original products purchased. The most frustrated customers describe feeling the company prioritizes protecting the warranty over honoring it, and note that support may require escalated language in emails to receive replies from actual personnel.
My Pax Flow cost 350 dollars and quit working after just 2 months. When I tried to use my 2 year warranty, customer service turned me down. They said it was because I took off the mouthpiece, which they had actually told me to do so they could check the serial number. They have records showing I bought it but wouldn't honor the warranty anyway.
Pax only responded to me twice after I put Escalate to Management for Lack of Response in my email subject line. My guess is they use some kind of automated system to filter messages until you set off a red flag that makes an actual person read it.
My husband got the new Pax Flow, and while it's decent overall, the power button is frustratingly difficult to use. The pressure needed to turn it on is way too high, and finding the right spot to press is nearly impossible. For what you're paying, this obvious design flaw is really disappointing.
I've been using Pax products for about 6 years and purchased two Pax 3s that were great initially, then the problems began. The devices would overheat and flash blue error codes and the power button stopped working. Support was responsive at first and fairly quick with replacements, but the replacement units they sent were Pax Pluses instead of 3s, and each one died faster than the last. The most recent one only lasted a month. Now they take weeks just to respond and expect you to pay to ship the broken ones back. Time to find a different brand.
Less than a week after I got it, problems started showing up. They said they'd replace it but the replacement is this ugly black model I never wanted. I specifically picked a color that matched my other stuff. They won't work with me at all, so now I'm stuck choosing between a broken unit or something I hate looking at. Really terrible customer service. I've only had this thing for under a month and I started the replacement request less than a week after buying it, and all they keep saying is sorry for your luck.
Terrible product and terrible support. It's super frustrating when a company tries to pull a bait and switch with their warranty. They first said we should go ahead with a replacement under warranty. Then I get back a generic boilerplate response about changing modes that has absolutely nothing to do with what I reported. The actual problem is the thing doesn't form a seal. Total joke. Don't think Pax's warranty is worth anything. It's worthless. They sent me some copy pasted stuff about creating an account and told me I could order my replacement from there after verifying age at checkout. But I already have an account. They completely ignored my real problem, and there's no warranty replacement on my account like they claimed. Now I have to go through this entire thing again because their customer service somehow thinks I don't understand how to adjust temperature settings. Get your act together Pax. They haven't answered any of my concerns posted in their system, so it's crystal clear they don't actually care.
Fantastic customer service! I reported a charging issue and they immediately sent out a replacement with no questions asked. The response time was genuinely impressive. Really have nothing negative to say, thanks so much to the team at Pax.
This thing is garbage. And their return policy is equally bad. If you buy it and change your mind, there's no way to send it back. I wish I'd found the reviews here sooner and learned about their terrible return policy before spending my money.
Initially got terrible and really slow customer service but they eventually did respond. I've purchased 6 devices over the years, including 2 as gifts, and 3 of them have had issues with the power button. I emailed support about my Pax Plus power button problem and got back an automated response. I followed up twice and got nothing for 2 days, then the same automated email again after my third message. A week later Pax finally contacted me and replaced the device under warranty, which was good. However, I still think they need to seriously improve their email support because it's pretty bad overall.
My device had an issue develop and they replaced it very quickly without any hassle.
When my device started having problems, they replaced it right away without any issues.
The 10 year warranty they advertise is basically fake. My device had problems just 2 months after the 2 year EU warranty ended. Replacing the rubber mouthpiece probably costs them less than a dollar, but they charged me 25 euros for it.
I'd read through a bunch of reviews and wondered if I'd be one of the fortunate ones to get real help from their support team. After 2 years, my Pax 3 suddenly wouldn't power up, even though I'd been keeping it clean on a regular basis. It was strange because I also own a Pax 3 I got in 2020 and it still works like a charm. I exchanged a few emails with support and they verified it was covered under the 10 year warranty, then offered me a replacement. While the color wasn't my first choice, I felt it was a reasonable solution, plus I got to keep the broken burgundy one sitting on display. Even better, they took care of everything on the weekend and ended up throwing in a Pax Plus. Hands down the greatest customer support I've gotten anywhere. Total smooth experience.
After reading tons of different reviews, I felt lucky to connect with someone on their support team who actually helped me out. My Pax 3 stopped powering on after 2 years even though I'd been maintaining it regularly. I also have another Pax 3 from 2020 that still works perfectly, so I'm not sure what happened with the first one. I went back and forth with support a few times and they determined it qualified under the 10 year warranty and sent me a replacement. The color wasn't ideal, but I thought it was totally fair, and I got to keep the broken burgundy one as a decorative piece. They even handled everything over the weekend and ended up sending me a Pax Plus on top of it. Honestly the best customer support experience I've ever had. Completely hassle-free.
Pax Canada has botched basically every single order I've placed with them. The shipping labels never have the apartment number, and I've had to personally call UPS repeatedly to straighten things out, adding up to hours on the phone. This happened with every order across several years even though I always pointed out the mistake beforehand. They never fixed the delivery problems and never actually looked into the root cause despite me complaining many times. They usually point the finger at UPS, but then refuse to actually contact UPS themselves to resolve it. UPS accepts instructions from the shipper, and it should be Pax's responsibility to fix mistakes they made, but instead they make customers deal with their incompetence. They were also using the wrong email address for responses for years and only changed it last week, once again after repeated complaints. As usual, they kept denying the mistake was on their side. With this latest order which had to be reshipped due to a bad address, I took extra precautions by reaching out through customer service before they shipped to make sure they wouldn't mess it up again.
