What Shoppers Say About Aera
Aera has a low average rating of 2.3 out of 5 based on 3 reviews. Shoppers consistently report significant problems with customer service, including delayed shipping, unresponsive support staff, and ignored messages. Technical issues with the mobile app also emerged as a concern, with at least one reviewer unable to control their device or set schedules through the application.
On the positive side, one reviewer noted that the diffuser unit itself functions properly once received. However, the overall experience has been dampened by operational and support failures. Multiple reviewers expressed frustration with pricing relative to the problems they encountered. The limited number of reviews suggests this is a smaller retailer or one with low review volume on RetailCoupons.com.

Sorted by: Most recentHere's what went down with my Aera purchase. I ordered a diffuser on December 19th. Their website said it'd ship in 7 to 10 business days, so I thought I'd have it before the holidays, or at worst by New Year's. Spoiler alert: I didn't. Fast forward to January 5th and still nothing shipped. I contacted them asking what was going on. Their answer was basically "our warehouse closed for a few weeks, want to cancel?" No sorry, no timeframe, nothing about why this wasn't posted on their site anywhere. I wasn't asking to cancel, I just wanted my order from a month earlier. Mid-January rolls around and the unit finally shows up. Doesn't work. The eject button is completely stuck. I try every fix I can think of. Still nothing. I send an email asking for a refund and mention I'm getting a replacement from a different retailer because I've lost confidence in them. Their response asks if I want to exchange it instead and wants a serial number. Clearly they didn't actually read my message. I ordered another unit from somewhere else since I wasn't willing to try their process again. That one works okay, except surprise, I accidentally bought the mini version because their packaging and labeling look almost exactly the same on different products that don't work together. That part's on me, but maybe make your products easier to tell apart?
Fair warning: both the machines and the scent cartridges are seriously overpriced. That's your call to make, though. What's really concerning is how bad their customer service actually is. My unit works fine otherwise, but the app won't let me control it. I can't set timers or schedules because the app just keeps showing a login screen that won't work. I've tried everything, resetting my password, uninstalling and reinstalling, even signing up with a different email. Nothing works. I reached out to support and got nothing back. I'd steer clear of these if I were you, because you could end up with a super pricey paperweight like mine. Really disappointing experience. UPDATE: They did eventually respond, but they kind of missed what I was actually asking about and didn't really help. After I replied again explaining the issue, they finally asked for more details about my phone to send to their tech team. Before that happened though, I actually found the answer myself, and it turned out to be related to how the system works overall.
The product itself seemed promising, but dealing with this company's customer support was a nightmare. Over just one month, I ran into three separate problems. Most of my messages to their support team went completely ignored. When someone finally did reply, they claimed they never got my earlier emails. I guess that's possible, but it seems unlikely. Either way, whether it's the support staff or the system itself, the lack of response to my concerns was really frustrating and disappointing. I decided to just return everything and get my money back rather than deal with any more headaches. Also worth mentioning: one of the main reasons I bought this was because they advertise a special microparticle diffusing technology that supposedly delivers scent without any white dust or residue. So naturally, I ended up getting white residue all over the top of my unit. Pretty ironic, right?
