What Shoppers Say About Bean Box
Bean Box is rated 1.7 out of 5 by 6 shoppers, with the vast majority expressing serious dissatisfaction. Recurring complaints center on shipping delays despite paid expedited options, discrepancies between advertised and actual product quantities, subscription billing issues where customers are charged even after requesting skips, unresponsive customer service, and most critically, reports of orders marked as delivered but never received. Shoppers also note that coffee quality has declined, with beans tasting stale or lacking freshness despite recent roast dates, and inconsistent flavor profiles across sampled varieties.
The single positive review praises Bean Box's coffee quality, variety of options, packaging, and delivery process. However, this lone five-star rating stands in sharp contrast to the preponderance of one-star reviews documenting failed orders, billing disputes, shipping problems, and customer service failures. Several reviewers describe their experiences as scam-like, and concerns about unresolved missing packages represent the most severe issue raised.

Sorted by: Most recentI paid for faster shipping and it took 4 days instead of the promised 2. Shelled out over $7 for shipping on a free bag. When it showed up, the coffee was only 11 ounces instead of 12, and the quality wasn't good. It was roasted on April 2nd but honestly tasted like something old you'd grab from a grocery store chain. Nothing compared to the roasters in my area. The whole thing comes across like they're projecting a bigger, fancier image than what they actually deliver.
I ordered on 3/5 for a promotional bag that wound up being $5. A few days later on 3/9, I skipped the following two shipments. Then on 3/11, they charged me $23 for the upcoming month even though I'd already skipped them. When I contacted support on 3/26, they said they bill you monthly no matter if you skip a shipment or not. I asked to end my subscription and get my money back, but they refused. So I ended up paying $23 for coffee I never even got.
Trying to get help from their customer service has been impossible. I spent around $100 on my initial purchase and couldn't use my $5 discount code anyway, and the order never arrived. My account shows it was delivered, but it definitely wasn't. My money vanished. This feels like a scam!!!
Got a gift box with coffee from different parts of the world for Christmas and I was really excited. Unfortunately it let me down big time. The coffee wasn't fresh and all the bags tasted basically the same, flat and boring. There was barely any smell to it. I tried asking about returning it but couldn't since I wasn't the one who bought it. After sampling a bunch of the bags, I threw the whole thing out. I'd suggest checking out a different coffee subscription service instead.
Used to be satisfied with this company, but the holiday season was a disaster. I submitted two Christmas gift orders on December 9th and they still weren't sent out three weeks later. I tried reaching out to customer service multiple times and got one response on the 21st saying they'd look into it, then nothing after that. I've managed tech teams at e-commerce companies before so I understand how hectic the holidays get. What's missing here is any real dedication to taking care of customers, whether through staying in touch or being upfront when something can't make it in time for the holidays. I really can't suggest this company, especially if you need gifts delivered by a certain date.
