A booking doesn’t mean it’s booked with booking .com

We had accommodation booked for months. The week before they were in touch with my husband and told him to change our arrival dates or loose the booking. We ended up loosing the booking as we couldn’t move dates or actually speak to booking customer services! They didn’t offer alternative accommodation or support their own mistake.

As a traveler and hotel owner

As a traveler and hotel owner I've seen both sides of the company. Although it's service for the guests' part was very well made and supported, today it has became rough on it's tactics and non-trustworthy with so many paid-promoted establishments. Meanwhile, it's tactics raise the price of the average stay as the time passes, as the hotel owner has to cope with the huge competition and the at least 15% fee. Every season I am more and more disappointed from Booking.com

I booked several units in caravan…

I booked several units in caravan parks. Our situation changed so I cancelled them online. Got conformation of the cancellations from them. Then the day before they originally were to take the money from my credit card they sent me an email telling me they were going to take the payment for the accommodation. I tried to get in touch with them but found this almost impossible. I eventually found a phone number which was supposed to be maned 24/7, but each time I rang this rang out. There customer service centre had an AI to ask questions to, but this was impossible to communicate sensibly with. I have sent return email to the one that said they were taking the money out, but no teply. I will have to go to my credit card organisation to stop the payment.

Predatory Practices. Avoid if Possible!

Thought this was a legit site until I ran into some trouble with my flight booking. Saw that the date was not correct and they would not allow me to cancel under the 24-hour cancellation policy even though I called under 24 hours and legally had a right to cancel for free because they said the airline rules force them to penalize half the cost $270 of the ticket. Called the airline, they confirmed that booking should cancel under this policy for free and airline honors a full refund. Even after 5 calls to the airlines, including the airline rep talking to booking directly, they still would not cancel for full refund. They told me to confirm with the airline too but that was not enough. Basically wasted my whole day calling back and forth when they knew they would do nothing to help me resolve the issue. If you are going to do nothing then don't push me to waste my time!

made reservations for orca inn for february 24th 2026 on san juan islandsa five hour journey get to lodging placewas of out of business apparently since october 2025. called customer service from booking.com he had to verify this was true what i was saying. said after 45 minutes id hear from him via email said id get a 70.77 credit to use for my hotel we find had to use booking thou and as i went on there was no discount applied so i call again this time a lady was very in helpful and said i had to pay fullprice that night id get a voucher ofthat credit on my next stay this was my next booking and as of yet i asked for a call back or email froma supervisor and nothing yet very disappointed and the orca inn is still on website

Extremely Disappointing Support Experience

I have been using Booking.com for years, and unfortunately the quality of their customer service has declined dramatically.What used to be a reliable and efficient platform now feels completely unresponsive and opaque when a problem arises.Trying to contact customer support has become unnecessarily complicated. The process to reach a real person is frustrating, and once you finally manage to send a request, getting an actual reply is another challenge. I have been waiting for days for a clear answer regarding my case for Booking No. 6204588231, with no meaningful response.In dispute situations, the communication is extremely unclear. You are left without transparent explanations, without concrete timelines, and without any real follow-up. It feels like cases are simply left pending without resolution.For a company of this size, this level of customer support is deeply disappointing. When everything goes smoothly, the platform works. But the true value of a service is measured when something goes wrong — and this is precisely where Booking.com is now failing.I sincerely hope they reconsider their current support structure, because long-time customers like me are seriously reconsidering using the platform again.

Horrible support for paid flex ticket option

I booked a flight via Booking from Germany to Bangkok with a flex ticket and paid extra for it. In the available timeframe I tried to change the flight date via support (since there is no other option than contacting them via support). 3 days later and more than 10 support chats I was finally given a new flight and had to pay the difference - totally fine. I paid the difference and another 3 days have passed (as well as 15+ support chats/calls) since that and I still didn't get any new flight confirmation or update - just "something went wrong with the booking, we'll take care". That's it. The flight is in less than a week and they said they will clearify it before that flight date. Okay and if they don't then I can't take the flight, my money is gone and I have to pay an incredible sum of money to get a new flight? This is the worst experience I've ever had with a support team in my whole life. Don't book there - ever!

We have been using booking.com for…

We have been using booking.com for quite a long time and hardly had issues but I booked a 12-day stay in Dubai, UAE for about a $1000 on February 2026(7th-19th). Finding the apartment building itself was tough even with an airport pickup from booking.com. Finally found it and there was nobody to receive me(a guest). The environment was terrible, the compound of the apartment building was dirty. I was finally attended to n sent to the apartment and it was a disaster! A very dirty apartment, used bedsheets,cobwebs, bathroom ceiling almost falling, etc. No preparation at all to receive a guest. I was shocked but I was too tired to look for a new place so I asked for the room to be cleaned that night. I started a complaint to booking.com just the next day and asked for refund so I leave. They kept giving me flimsy responses and offered me 53dhms out of 3665dhm paid! I've been pushing and pushing for a refund for the days I didn't stay in the God awful place but only keep getting no or little response. I left that awful apartment on day 5 n booked on a different platform (Agoda). My holidays were completely ruined by this experience with booking.com! A company I thought I could trust. No protection or concern for clients. I'm about to lodge a formal complaint with the Police because I have been cheated by a company I trusted. We are done with booking.com
