What Shoppers Say About Christmas Lights Etc
Christmas Lights Etc has received overwhelmingly negative feedback, with 15 shoppers rating the store 1.3 out of 5. The dominant complaints center on defective products that either fail to power on or stop working within a few seasons, despite customers assembling and testing items carefully. Additional issues include shipping errors, unresponsive customer service described as disrespectful, and refunds that never materialize. Shoppers report spending hundreds of dollars on non-functional decorations and feeling ghosted when attempting to resolve problems.
A small number of customers report positive experiences with on-time arrival and fully functional products, suggesting occasional orders do meet expectations. However, these isolated successes are vastly outnumbered by accounts of defective merchandise and poor customer support, leading reviewers to state they would not shop at the store again.

Sorted by: Most recentGot some lights in November but realized I ordered the wrong size and placed a second order. I followed all their return steps but it's January now and I still haven't seen that refund. I've called three times and chatted with them online multiple times and each person said they'd handle it. Still nothing. Skip this company.
Placed an order for Christmas lights that were supposedly in stock and paid extra for expedited mail delivery. The expected arrival was less than a week away. When the promised date rolled around, the tracking info still showed the package hadn't even been picked up by the carrier yet, just that a label was created. I tried calling but got an automated message directing me to use their chat feature instead. The chat rep claimed the order shipped on Friday even though their email said Wednesday. They blamed USPS for the delay when the package hadn't even been handed over to them yet. Four days later and the tracking still hasn't changed. I found out this is a widespread issue with this company but can't get anyone on the phone. I'm considering disputing this charge with my credit card company.
I ordered from this place and paid for expedited shipping with a delivery date of November 28th. My package just sat in their warehouse the entire time. Through their live chat they kept insisting USPS was responsible. Wrong. That's on them for not pulling my order in time. USPS never even had the box yet so they can't be blamed. Do not use this company. Their supervisor on chat blamed USPS for not picking up the following Friday and got defensive when I pushed back on that explanation, even threatening to disconnect. These people are not being truthful.
I ordered something and paid an extra fifty dollars for Priority shipping. Got an email the next day saying it shipped. Four business days went by and it was still sitting in their warehouse. When I finally called their customer service they explained the order had been pulled and a label printed, but the package was just sitting there waiting to go out. They mentioned USPS only picks up once weekly and my order wouldn't leave until Friday even though I ordered it on Monday. Saturday I checked tracking and it still hadn't shipped. Now it's been over a week and we got nothing despite paying extra for faster delivery. My family was disappointed because we were counting on this for Thanksgiving even though we ordered well ahead of time. Christmas Lights ETC doesn't have daily USPS pickups and they should be taking packages to the post office themselves if they're charging for expedited service. Honestly just order from Amazon Prime if you want anything on time for the holidays.
We bought an expensive Christmas tree from this company years ago primarily because of their advertised ten year warranty. Recently, a bunch of lights failed due to an electrical issue in the tree that damaged one of the two power cords. We contacted them for help and were told they couldn't assist because although the tree itself was covered for ten years, the lights were only guaranteed for one year. This problem could have potentially caused a house fire and they offered absolutely nothing. You have to really search to find that limitation on their website, and honestly it would have changed whether we bought it in the first place. To add insult to injury, we had already bought another expensive tree from them before this disaster happened.
