Don’t use them. I thought about creating a shop to sell my products. When I created the shop, I was immediately charged £14. I decided to proceed. A few hours later, still baffled by the charge, I decided to close my shop without having listed any item for sale. To close my shop, Etsy charged me £2.80. Within the uk, we have the consumer rights act which means that there’s a 14 day cooling off period. That means I shouldn’t be charged, or should receive a refund for £16.80. However, there’s no sign of this. Etsy is a scam company.

Avoid Etsy at all costs!!!!!!!I set up an Etsy shop exactly as instructed and paid the £14 setup fee. The next day, my account was permanently suspended with no products listed and no explanation. Etsy claimed I breached rules but refused to say which ones, kept my money, and stopped responding.

Refrain from using Etsy! It is surprising such platforms are allowed to operate. Responsibility and accountability are non existent. The item I have bought has never been delivered within the advertised timeframe. Additional costs have been charged. No one takes responsibility and ETSY is a ghost company. Beware

★☆☆☆☆ Etsy Support: professional stalling, zero customer care. My order was cancelled without reason. Ten days later, Etsy still has my money. I’ve contacted Etsy Support multiple times — every response was a scripted brush-off with no resolution. No refund. No accountability. No urgency.Each time I received meaningless template replies, no real investigation, no ownership of the issue, and no timeline for returning my money. It is abundantly clear that Etsy Support’s role is to deflect, delay, and hope customers give up.Taking a customer’s money, cancelling their order, and then withholding the refund while providing fake “support” is completely unacceptable. This is not a small delay — it is a failure of basic consumer responsibility.Etsy has mastered the art of pretending to offer customer service while doing absolutely nothing. Keeping a customer’s money after cancelling their order is unacceptable. Their indifference is breathtaking.I will not trust Etsy with another transaction. Avoid MotorStickIt at all costs. The seller blatantly refuses to chip in when things go wrong.

Absolutely outstanding site. I had a problem with a purchase on Etsy, vintage furniture not as described by seller (damaged) and after three weeks of frustrating attempts to amicably resolve things I finally lodged a case with Etsy (and S.75 with credit card). I haven’t used them much, just small stuff, and never had a problem, so didn’t know what to expect. Maybe I’d get absolutely no response or they’d brush me off siding with seller as that’s their revenue. Within hours they contacted me and the seller setting out exactly what seller had to do and timetable. They gave seller a deadline, and 48 hours later they refunded me in full on sellers behalf when seller failed to respond to them or me with refund. I’m genuinely astonished at their speed and decisive action. I’m really impressed by the integrity of the platform in forcefully ensuring customers rights are safeguarded (it was a clear cut case). I will use Etsy again, and strongly recommend Etsy to others. You can buy with confidence on Etsy, and Etsy has your back if things sometimes go wrong. An outstanding platform.

I ordered a small wallpaper sample from Etsy for £5.33 & it cost me £60 for delivery & tax which seller informed me was inline with Etsy’s policies- absolutely disgraceful. I did not realise it was from USA or informed of cost when ordered. I ordered from USA before Christmas with another company for a significantly heavier item than a small sheet of paper & was not charged anywhere near this amount. To clarify- £60 costs from Etsy for an A4 sheet of paper that cost £5.33, total cost £65.33 !!! BEWARE ordering from ETSY
