My husband gave me Foster Grant reading glasses for my birthday in January, ordered from an online retailer. The listing said brown but what arrived was blue. Since blue happens to be my favorite color anyway, I kept them. I stuck them in a drawer as a backup pair. Around 3 weeks ago my regular glasses snapped, so I started wearing the backup pair. This morning when I was cleaning them the rim split right on the side. That's way too short a lifespan for brand new glasses. Finding an actual human at their customer service turned out to be impossible. I tried calling multiple times and just got machines. I won't be purchasing Foster Grant anymore. Their quality has seriously declined.

I had good experiences with Foster Grant products before, so I ordered some glasses from their website. The delivery got held up because my apartment unit number wasn't on the label, which was honestly my mistake. The thing is, nobody bothered to tell me about the problem. I kept trying to track down what happened and got nothing but silence, until I finally managed to reach someone high up who actually fixed it. The glasses themselves are fine but the whole ordering and shipping process was such a headache that it ruined the whole thing. I just don't think it's worth dealing with unless you absolutely love the brand.

Based on what other people say online, Foster Grant knows this is a problem, and they apparently think anything that breaks after 90 days is no big deal. Well, I'm done with them for good.

I picked up some Ironman brand reading glasses and right away a rubber component started coming off on both pairs. I emailed the company with photos to show them the defect. They did respond pretty quick, but all they said was they couldn't help and that they don't ship replacements to my country. No coupon, no goodwill gesture, nothing. Kind of ironic for a brand called Ironman that falls apart this easily.

Ordered the Sawyer multifocal readers in 2.75 and gunmetal, and honestly they looked fantastic. Then the earpiece snapped off at the hinge while I had them on my face. The very first day I wore them. I jumped on their chat and got a customer service rep who said no worries, they'd ship out a replacement immediately. That was weeks ago and nothing showed up. Logged back in and talked to someone else. They were confused about the missing order, said they'd cancel it and send a new one right away. Again, weeks went by with nothing. I went back a third time and basically had the identical conversation with another rep. It seems like this happens enough that they have a standard script for it. Don't shop with them.

These frames fall apart after a few months. I've gotten multiple pairs of Foster Grant multifocal reading glasses and take good care of them, keeping sets at home and the office both. Within just a handful of months the frame always cracks. When I reached out to the company they basically told me anything past 90 days is considered normal wear and tear. That doesn't make sense to me, glasses should stay in one piece way longer than that. I'd switch brands in a heartbeat but haven't found anyone else who makes what I need, so I'm still hunting for options. I can't suggest buying from them.

Over many years I must have grabbed hundreds of Foster Grant readers from different stores and was pretty satisfied with them overall. If they ever broke it was usually because I wasn't being careful. But lately, in the last month or so, something's changed with their manufacturing or materials. These are shattering for absolutely no reason. Unless they can go back to making the solid product they used to, I'm taking my business elsewhere.

Terrible durability on reading glasses I purchased. I bought 2 pairs of Foster Grants from a warehouse club over the past couple years and had to send both back because the frames cracked. They were round style readers with a +2.5 prescription. The first pair's frame broke near the lens after about 1 year and 3 months of use. I ordered the exact same model and they fell apart after just 4 months. The craftsmanship was clearly subpar. Fortunately the warehouse club made returns easy. I've never experienced frames breaking like this before. Does anyone know what brand makes reading glasses that can actually stand the test of time? I was very careful during cleaning too, using minimal pressure especially on the second pair. Both pairs were returned within the timeframe noted.

Foster Grant acquired my preferred sunglasses brand and then stopped making their products. The issue is their site still shows these items as out of stock instead of just removing them. Look, I'd rather see them bring the brand back and bring back the old lineup because their current line doesn't really compare, especially when it comes to safety-rated polarized sunglasses, which they apparently don't even make anymore.

These Foster Grant Surge Sports Sunglasses are really well made. The lenses give full protection against both UVA and UVB rays, and they feel super durable. They also look great and modern at the same time.
