What Shoppers Say About Get Wines Direct
Get Wines Direct is rated 1.0 out of 5 by 7 shoppers, and every review submitted is one star. Customers report a pattern of serious operational and customer service failures, including defective products with no follow-up from management, unresponsive support channels, repeated unwanted calls despite do-not-call requests, delivery system breakdowns without accountability, and orders cancelled without explanation or refunds. Long-time customers report the company's service has deteriorated significantly over time.
The complaints center on three core issues: unreliable product quality and order fulfillment, aggressive and persistent unwanted contact that continues even after customers request it stop, and poor customer service response when issues arise. Sorted by: Most recentI've been a customer for a long time and have had quality issues in the past. Just recently I had another bad experience with wine that was defective. I reached out to them again and talked to someone who promised that the person who handled my order would call me back to sort it out. Ten days went by and no call. So I sent an email to senior management letting them know I wouldn't be buying from them anymore. That was it for me.
Absolutely terrible from start to finish. You can get the same bottles from other places without all the drama. Customer service is awful and the harassment is non-stop.
This place operates like a scam outfit. I made one purchase three years ago and they've been calling me nonstop, multiple times a week, using different numbers so you can't block them. Yesterday I called to ask them to stop and they said I'd be added to their do not call list. Well, I got another call today anyway. When I asked them to quit calling, one of their reps just hung up on me. There are legal rules about this kind of thing and if it doesn't stop, I'm going to escalate this because it's pure harassment at this point. On top of everything else, the wine I got was really poor quality, which is why I never ordered again in the first place.
As a long-time customer with over $25,000 in purchases, I thought I'd get decent treatment, especially since I worked with a great service rep who knew the business inside and out. When their delivery system went down recently, it turned out they don't even have proper insurance with the postal service, so I lost money on several boxes. They refused to replace them and only offered me a $50 credit as their so-called goodwill gesture. There are tons of other wine shops out there like competitors who actually provide free shipping and real loss coverage. That's where my business is going from now on, and I'm telling people I know to do the same.
I've been shopping with this company for years, but the last half year has been a disaster. Their delivery keeps falling apart and they just pass the buck to their courier or the postal service without taking any responsibility. I'm done with them and going back to other wine retailers. It's really disappointing because they used to be solid, but at this point there's no way I'm ordering from them again.
My order got cancelled out of nowhere with zero explanation. Their customer service is a joke - they won't respond to emails or pick up the phone. They took money from my credit card but never sent a refund, so I had to file a dispute through PayPal to get my money back.
Stay away from this company. Sure, their products and selection are nice, but the moment you're not buying constantly, they start harassing you with calls every single week. I understand the staff is just following orders, so I nicely asked them to take me off their calling list. Since then? They call me daily now. They're worse than any telemarketing or scam operation I've ever dealt with. These guys show up all the time on nuisance call complaint websites. I really wish there was some kind of oversight that would actually penalize them for this behavior.
